VGA? Perfect for my CRT monitor that i haven't had in 15 years.

Some procurement officer at a 50 year old company just got excited at the prospect of outfitting their meeting rooms with these on the cheap!

    • +5

      Exactly.

There are big 65" display monitors which still have VGA.

      • +5

Some not too old monitors still have them +HDMI + displayport/VGA.. This could be useful for connecting a second or third input source to that monitor. This would work for hooking an old surface pro to that monitor for occasional use.

I do not have a device uses either these 2 ports…

I should start popping into deals for boxer shorts and saying that I don’t have the right ports for ’em

      • +2

        I can’t comment because I’m not a boxer.

It's a bargain for those looking for the specific cable. Thanks op

…and from a good brand too.

      Literally what I needed.
      Thanks op!

I keep a VGA cable around for troubleshooting my N40L.

    • Do these work both ways? I thought they would be unidirectional?

      • I don't have this product. I do not know.

      • +3

Haven't looked into it, but it's doubtful. VGA is an analogue signal, Display Port is a digital signal.

There would be hardware built in the cable to convert from the digital to analogue signal so it's unlikely they have gone to the expense to convert the other way.

Thanks grabbed one. These are super useful to hook up a crt monitor to a modern computer

Only 4 bucks shipping for me. Pretty dumb that jb still doesnt allowing easy cancelling/changing orders once its put in. I wanted to add a bluray within seconds and I cant easily modify the order unlike if I ordered on amazon. Then I went to update my password and it didnt ask for any verification to my phone or email.

    • +1

Live chat or phone support should be able to help you with cancelling/modifying orders.

Add a VGA -> HDMI adapter, and Mini Display to USB-C adapter… and you've fast forward this tech to current generation

    • That's an even worse idea than it seems cause VGA is an analog format, meaning noticeable quality loss.

Respect to anyone still using VGA in 2023.

I wish I was as tight as you.

I use a VGA PCI video card on my home built server. MB doesn't have a built-in video card. This saves PCIe lanes for expansion cards like my Storage HBA's.
So, in 2023, there's still use for the good, old VGA 😏

      • Come to think of it I’m in a similar boat. My server only has VGA out because the discrete graphics is passed to Plex.

To be clear though I was referring to those who choose to run VGA monitors.

  • would rather donate 1 dollar to charity rather than buying this junk

now a need a deal for a VGA monitor

will this connect my reebok pumps to my nirvana CDs?

Thanks Op grabbed one for pickup from local store for $1.00 will be useful to me.

I forgot how therapeutic it was to screw in the connector on both sides. Such a nice sense of security the whole CRT would fall off the table before the cable would let loose

  • List of stores this item is available in Sydney/western sydney for click and collect.

  • I would buy this just to use as a shell for another cable.

And of course have the dial up sounds as the ringtone on my phone.

  • Will this work if I plug it into a dock (as my laptop doesn't have the appropriate port)?

  • it might be useful for retro gaming

  • Any deals on EGA/CGA adapters?
