Anyone ever claimed a shaver on their tax return? (I'm required to be clean shaven for work.)

  • +2

Be aware that this doesn't come with the cleaning station, which is arguably one of the best features of this shaver.

    • I've read reviews a while back claiming the durability of the shaver is worse off with the cleaning station. Not sure how true that is

      • +3

Interesting… Never read that before and not sure how that could be. But you never know I guess.

I did most of my research from this website: https://shavercheck.com/braun-series9-original-vs-updated/#4…

I bought my series 9 back in 2017 for $350 until now I only replaced two cassettes and still going good.

After I saw the current top run out model for $400 so I grab one, the reason that I bought it due to the cleaning station started to having some leaking.

FYI: Signup as a new member you'll get $10 off over $100, so it's brought this $400 shaver down to $390 delivered.

Also available with the cleaning station: https://www.shavershop.com.au/braun/series-9-pro-wet--and-dr…

      • This is 9467 model..different to deal 9417s model

        • +1

From what I can tell, the only difference between both models is the inclusion of the cleaning station.

    • I used the cleaning station with my series 7 for a few years and I am a lot happier not using it. It gives the shaver a slightly damp and gooey feeling. I prefer to keep it dry and wash it once in a while with water. Works great!

For the 60 day money back guarantee, shavershop doesnt take it back, you have to apply for a return and mail it back to braun, it worked for me cause it wasnt great at shaving my beard

    • Can you share more details please? I want to make sure still it applies by Braun.
Did you apply from https://mbg.campaign.net.au/braun/ ?
Shall I get claim ID or something from them on the phone before filling up above link if that's the correct one?

      • Mannnn idk i did it last year, just call shaver shop and ask

  • +3

The $400 one not only comes with the cleaning station but also a portable Charging case, well Worth the extra in my opinion.

I upgraded to this a while back from my ancient series 5 and it performs like shit - unfortunately didn't realise there was a 60 day return window
    YMMV

      Have to agree with Lachhelix.

      • Glad it wasn't just me 😂

My ancient series 5 - I think it's a 5? - I've had it about 20 years I think, still going like a trooper including the cleaning station.

    • Thanks for sharing. What do you use now, and are you happy with it?

      • Well I'm still stuck with the series 9, I'm not spending another few hundred dollars to replace it if it's still working - BUT I'm about to buy the new replacement "pro" 94m head for it though so will report back if it works any better for me!

Same here. The old generation was good. The new ones are like toys. Returned mine

    • The older ones seemed to have a more powerful motor(could shave with a two week stubble without trimming down required) . Older foils also seemed to last longer too. I have seen a video suggesting that using an ultrasonic cleaner on the foils might be a way to restore the original foils and I'm planning on getting a replacement battery for my older shaver.

      • Do you have an ultra sonic cleaner? Can you recommend one?

An excellent review website that I 've stumbled upon just yesterday, might help someone to make a decision

    • Great recommendation.

  • Yep I bought an original (probably 10+ years ago) with the cleaning station and all thinking it was going to last, but when I bought a replacements foil it was crap.
    Have things changed?

  • is this better than Panasonic LV65?

I had LV 65 since 2020 and the battery life was bit low side and requires more stokes while using on chin.

    • Would like to know this, too. I have the LV9N from 2018, but the replacement foil costs $100+ and that's just for the outer foil. Put me off and switched to DE razor. Much closer and smoother shave, but takes much longer than electric.

    • I have the Oandonic az well. Its a piece of shit. The Braun is better. But my 20+ year old series 8 is still light years ahead.

  • so this one doesn't have the SmartCare Center ?
