  • 45% NTSC. Could it get any worse?

      Its a thinkbook thinkpad

      • Pauline: Please explain?

        • When I was looking early at the Lenovo laptops all the thinkpads I saw had low quality displays.

      Could it get any worse?

      Yes

      44% NTSC?

    • +1

      Shrinkflation

Lenovo AU bean counters have recently made the decision to switch all AU consumer laptops with FHD and WUXGA screens to 45% NTSC

72% NTSC / 100% sRGB / Dolby Vision usually available as a paid option and remains standard for the 2K, 2.5K and 4K screens

If only it was 13th Gen, H series, and OLED screen for the same price .. Lol .. just getting in early with silly comments that others usually post :p

At least this isn't an 8gb ram laptop comments would've killed the post šŸ˜‚

You would need 1366x768 as well.

No trackpoint = its a no from me

    • What's good about a trackpoint compared to a touchpad?

      • +2

For about last 10 years all the laptops I've owned have been Lenovo Thinkpads with both trackpoints and touchpads. I use the trackpoint only and would not care if they removed the touchpad.I just find trackpoint easier and more natural than touchpads and always have.

  • 256gb SSD is pretty small these days too

heaps of streaming websites for adult movies, so should be fine.

I've got a 2 year old e14g3 and it's worked just fine as an office machine with a 256gb SSD. I bought a 500gb to put in the second slot and just never bothered because onedrive manages the files just fine.

Niche case, but still 256gb can be just fine in a professional setting with cloud storage provided.

  • has anyone got one of these and can comment? can't seem to find too many reviews online for this model

We got the 512gb version of this in March for home office stuff. These are quite decent and very good value for money tho I'm not picky on the display. No touch screen which I prefer since I don't like finger smudges.
Had a a need for a Windows Pro and preferred Win10 over 11 anyway.
Thunderbolt port great and supports Alt Display meaning supported monitors can charged the laptop at the same time.
      fingherprint sensor works good too.

      • thanks for sharing! i'm not a fan of touch screens either tbh but was just more thinking if the 300nits would be too dim. how did you find the battery at only 45wh? and are the side firing speakers decent?

        • +1

I have a similar laptop but with MX550 graphics card and i7. 300nits works for me indoors. I set it to 50% brightness to extend battery life. I charged the battery to 80% and it can last me 3 to 4 hours (not gaming). The speakers work well for my basic use.

      • How did you find the battery and display?

How long does the battery lasts?

        Is display bright enough?
