Only 2mm line though, so it will go through quite a bit if you have a large area to trim.

  • Dae find the line on these snap real easy?

I bought a diamond shaped line off eBay and it's way better than the stock stuff or similar at Bunnings. I trim a 770sqm block and it's been fine for about 5 years now.

      That's what the reviews say….

I have a 2mm Stihl and sick to death of changing the line every 5-10 mins.

      • Yeah I’m a sucker and buy the replacement Ryobi spools and even with the easy auto feed it smashes through it real quick from all the breakages

    • Did my nature strip with one of these (around 16m2), got through it before it snapped while edging so … good enough for use case I guess. Saves me $30 each time so by the time summer comes next year I will have made back my investment.

A better quality line might do better. But 2mm is 2mm.

  • These things suck, but the brushless model is very good. Don't waste your money on this.

    • Are you talking about the 36V brushless model or is there an 18V one?

      • 18v brushless model is great.

  • anyone seen any good deals on the mowers?

    • Bunnings seem to be on a rampage with price drops, just keep checking.

  • What happened to the flip out steel bit that makes edging super easy?

  • Any battery deals?

To avoid being "sick to death of changing the line every 5-10 mins," as mentioned @Jv, I found good advice on YouTube from professionals.

That is really, really working and is simple as genial! I'm completely forgotten that such problems ever existed. Even 0.6in cheap string works for a very long.

    • Mine is using the auto-feed spool (like this one, I guess, https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-line-trimmer-spool-and-lin…).
Can I buy the line and fill the spool myself?
      Thanks

Sorry my post was regarding how to make ANY trimming line not to be brittle.
The idea is to put it in the bucket with water for overnight and it became almost unbreakable.
It just perfectly worked for me.

  • I use the metal core cord and never (rarely) breaks
