how is a 48" screen considered as monitor? It's pretty much a TV
It doesn't have a TV tuner in it, nor any Smart TV features; plus it has gaming specific features like fast response time, 120Hz refresh rate, DisplayPort as well as HDMI 2.1, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync, etc
Yeah I know, it's just amazing that people actually buy a 48" screen as a gaming monitor. Should have called it gaming TV
There's a certain demographic of people who use playstations/xboxs at computer desks, with gaming chairs and accessories. The controller allows you to sit a little further back, so I'd guess that's the target audience.
You should really try it. It's glorious.
@zorrt: Can I ask if you have used it for work? That's what is really holding me back on OLED.
@friz: Na mines purely for driving games and I sit 75cm away.
But why would it hold you back for work? Burn in? That part I can't help as I've not experienced it yet and nothing is really persistent on screen in games.
@zorrt: Nah it's just for text clarity. Im not sure I can sit that far away!
@friz: I think I may have misunderstood your question, I don't have this monitor so I don't have much to offer.
Im using a c2 48" which should be a similar panel to this though and the text to me is really clear. My only comparison is a cheap Hisense a7hau 43" which even at a smaller size, is no where near as clear as the c2.
Also I should add that at 75cm away I don't actually see the top or sides of the screen. I'd need to move my head around to see those areas properly, I think your seating distance would be more of a concern than the text clarity.
They can't anyway, no tv tuner so will get sued.
138hz.
The tv version has all those features you listed apart from 120hz and no display port. No led lights also. Tv has the tuner and Dolby vision whereas this does not.
Just swapping out tv features for monitor feature really.
such a good deal
So, which panel does this use? C2, C3, etc.?
It looks like it's the c3 with the 99% colour accuracy but faster refresh so maybe it's overclocked default.
No Dolby Vision though
Is chromecast compatible with this?
Any monitor with hdmi port should be chromecast compatible.
48 inch a bit large for me, 34 inch ultrawide with lower price will be great
yeah I think 38" 4k is what I want
Note that this is a normal 16:9 screen - a 38" Ultrawide is a similar width to this 48" screen, but you lose a whole bunch of vertical space.
To put it the other way around, this is similar to a 38" Ultrawide with about 30% extra vertical space.
Can't help but notice almost all your deals are from LG. Are you in anyway associated with them?
No mate, just love the 2 x OLED's I have (55CX & 42C2) & have been happy with the 3 x Earbuds I bought - I suppose that makes me a bit of a fanboi LOL
Get a hobby mate.
Reading up about this. It's great for gaming, but not so great for standard PC use (Word, Outlook etc)
Auto dimming can't be switched off and it's not super bright…
C2 was 995
Apart from the ports, would the panel be the same as the one used in the c2 48"?
