Supposedly RRP is $629.95 but nobody seems to sell it for anywhere near that. Generally seems to sell for $250 or so. Best price according to the camels was $180.76 back in 2019. If you can stack with the full $30 cashback with Cashrewards then even better. I suppose you can't guarantee cashback but my trigger price was $190 so close enough anyway.

Can't seem to find warranty info on Amazon but a quick google suggests they have a 10 year warranty.

  • It's a good price, but these things are an absolute nightmare to clean.

Not an expert but I think you're doing it wrong.

When you've finished using it, it should be covered in dry flour. What you do then is:

      1. Pick it up.
      2. Shake it around a bit to get as much of the loose flour off as possible.
      3. Put it away.

You'll likely damage it if you try to wash it in the sink.

      • We have been using it for processing oily dough. This made it sticky after a while, and it was not very easy to clean it.
Your suggestion sounds good - I will keep that in mind.

For what it's worth, these Marcato ones are very strong. The cheap ones are horrible and can only be used a few times before things bend out of shape.

        • Oily hmmm. Not sure what to suggest in that case, maybe try taking it to your local dry cleaners :)

  • I used one for a decade, but recently received the add-on for a Kitchen Aid. Worth every penny and makes prepping fresh pasta such a breeze.

  • Honestly, check gumtree/facebook marketplace. These are the kind of things that people buy, use once or twice, and then sell a year later. There's once near me that's been used once for $70.

    • That doesnt have the extra attachments.

  • I bought one of these and barely used it because I got bored making the dough. Now I have the Philips Pasta Maker and I use it to finish off the leftover dough. If you drag out all the leftovers, squeeze it into a ball then roll it, and fold it, a few times you will get a nice consistency for the dough. Then you roll it to thickness and run it through the cutters.

I’ve got a bristle brush I use to clean mine with. Just brushing and turning the handle slowly.

    • We make our own pizza dough and the results have been really good. I'm pretty pedantic about things and making pizza from scratch has been quite satisfying.

I'm hoping making pasta from scratch using one of these manual ones will be a similar experience.

If you are into the Zen of making everything by hand from scratch I think you will enjoy using this.

  • Not a bargain. Pasta Grannies achieve more with an old wooden door and half a broomstick.

  • We have always used the Imperia brand and it's more expensive because it's made of thicker steel.
We even added a motor and the machine never failed, again because it's made with better material.
