  • Have the same screen and just really a pure pleasure using it.

    I agree. Amazing screen.

  • Looks really, really nice, if only it had a little more resolution vertically than 1440P. (photo editing as well as gaming)

Another option - LG 48 Inch UltraGear UHD OLED Monitor 48GQ900 for $1,359.98

  • Can u upgrade firmware on this best

    • Not user upgradable. Only dwf model user upgradable.

  • I think the dwf is a better choice ? Shame it’s not on special I’m in the market for oled

  • Keep in mind that this is the Gsync model which lacks VRR/FreeSync support for consoles and non-Nvidia GPUs and upgradable firmware and a few quality of life features in the OSD, however it does have a higher refresh rate overall and for 10 bit content (DWF is officially 100Hz for 10 bit, although reports that it can go further, and I believe this one is higher without tweaking?).

This is a fantastic monitor though

  • Display port is 165hz on dwf 100hz hdmi I also have the 6900xt tbh I don’t know what one to get I’d like to keep it under $1500 if possible

    • This and don't look back.

    • DWF, this monitor is Gsync only which means you won't be able to take advantage of variable refresh rate or Freesync on a 6900XT

A lot reports of burn-in after a couple of years of moderate use as deterred me from upgrading my gaming monitor to an OLED

    • Gonna be the same with all the OLED monitors. You have 3 years warranty. YOLO buy.

    • I've got this monitor and I use it everyday for work and gaming… no burn in yet. Got it at launch. Fingers crossed lol.

  • The dwf firmware helps with burn in has certain measures to prevent burn in

  • I would price match with JB use the discounted 15% off brings it down to $1337

  • Down to $1495 on Amazon now. Just ordered one :)

  • Would prefer the newer models, this one with the lack of ability to firmware upgrade has been constantly on sale at around this price at various times throughout the last 1.5 years. Honestly would just spend the extra $ on DWF/Samsung/MSI model.

    • Samsung and MSI are both auto pass for me. Rubbish in terms of gaming monitors. Nothing more consistently on sale than SAMSUNG brah.

I have the DWF and I sold it for this.

The 8bit vs the 12bit are massive at 175hz. Remember that DWF only have HDMI 2.0.

      Plus I use NVDIA GPU.

      • All same panel, and from reviews they are viable, the Samsung models quality is apparently better than their previous other G line monitors. The additional features seem worth it for Samsung and MSI, the F models firmware upgrades seem to make it a better model. As for 8-bit and 12-bit I believe few can tell the difference since they use DSC. Both Alienware models use HDMI 2.0 also, its the Samsung and MSI that use HDMI 2.1.

The caveat is also for AMD users, Nvidia users do not need to make special consideration for any of these monitors.
And actually if you follow this page, you'd notice that Dell Alienware is always on sale, mostly on ebay.
They've even had a lower price than this around 1.5 years ago around first release

Thanks OP got one through JB by buying the extra 15% Ultimate gift cards, got them to price match Amazon and I seen them putting up JB perks to save another $30 if you spend over $300 so got it for $1280 total what a deal.

  • I plan on just using Nvdia GPUs, so is this fine, or should I still wait for a dwf deal?

    • +1

Go for this. 12bit over 8bit dwf!!

Plus the fact you are using Nvdia.
