  • Only comes with one charging travel case.

    • Only one glass charger and no travel chargers, it seems

Looks like it has some serious mixed views and feedback of not lasting long.. hmm

    • +1

It doesn't.. it has a major design flaw and will likely stop working

        How so? Pls share

        • bought a pair from amazon DE, one died few days before warranty expire (2 years warranty) the other one died 1 month after expiry…… same issue, won't charge…

poor quality but I do like the brush feeling…

Missus and I have had one each for the last 3 years, gone through 3 warranty replacements in total. That said I’d buy it again in a heart beat - manual brushing no longer feels as clean now.

Got this as an impulse buy few years ago for a good deal. Sold it soon after for something like $40 profit. Good thing too cuz this model seems to have issues.

Ended up buying two Xiaomi ecosystem Soocas brushes (cuz I really wanted an electric brush) for less than half the price of one of these. The Soocas brushes have been working like a charm for more than 3 years now without any issues.

    • I got an OralB one from Coles like 2-3yrs ago, cheapest version, other than having to put it on the charger after every brush, it's fine.

Also a decent option for those with even tighter budgets. Dentist tick of approval (not the product), just has said my cleaning is excellent vs prior always telling me about areas I'm not doing enough/properly. Good enough for me.

  • I got a cheap Braun oral b for $20 from Chemist Warehouse a few months ago, don't have much to compare it with but I love it.

Even if you could buy just one of these ones it's still $140!

  • Anyone have had both thise and the Oral B IO series for comparison?

I'm happy with the Oral B IO8, although the battery got a hit I think because it was holding a few weeks with one charge, but only last a week max now.

    • Don't get the io … It brushes fine… But it is a crappy design.. you get mould buildup and it's hard to clean.. also I think I've experienced the same battery problems on my io… It's definitely not as good as when I first got it

This sonic clean has a design flaw that it will generally stop working after a while… I know because I have fixed a few myself.

They both clean just fine.. they just have problems.

I would recommend just getting the non io oral b

I have owned all of these

      • What's that "design flaw" of Philips' that you talk about?

Also agreeing that IO is not worth buying for its price and I can occasionally see some dirt (mould?) accumulating in mine. Go for Sonicare non-IO OralB with pressure alert - a red LED that flashes if you press too hard, which is not great for your gums in long run.

The internals break down inside once parts move around inside. This is a problem because the parts are not secured inside. The magnet and coil inside it gets loose. Once this happens the brush no longer vibrates or the vibration power is greatly reduced rendering the brush useless. The problem is also to fix, you need to open it which will invariably ruin the brush.

        • I'm on my second (warranty replacement). Haven't cracked the poor thing open yet because it's still chooching but this is my best guess:
The design is flawed in so far as there is a rubber bush between the motor spigot and the body. Once this bush wears due to the head flexing, water gets into the main body and shags it. They need a degree of compliance in the brush head for the 'pressure sensor' so they came up with this bush idea which allows some degree of freedom (joysticking). Straight up bad design. If you were engineering for obsolescence this is a fail. Haven't owned a Braun brush in a long time but my guess is that the pressure sensing is achieved with inductive feedback because the head isnt able to move.

        • Sonicare is phillips, I wanted to know how people like them against the IO from OralB.

PS: the IO series from OralB also have the pressure alert.

I'm considering switching and trying our the phillips, but I really like the oscillation/rotation from OralB, in addition to the ultrasonic vibration

          • @borgainerz: in terms of brush quality… its very similar… both will clean your teeth imho.

  • I've had one since 2017 and it is amazing. It cleans much better than the Oral B that I had previously and I haven't had a single issue with it (touch wood).

  • Expired. Price changed back to normal.
