Still listening to my original QC35 as I type. 2-6 hours usage most work days for 5+ years now, pretty fantastic value for something that felt so incredibly expensive at the time.
Same, had mine for 5 years as well and they still last for hours.
How often do you replace the earpads? I've replaced a few times because the coating starts coming off. The replacements (from Bose site) don't feel like they last as long as the originals before flaking too.
I've replaced them recently with these (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07JMQCQN2) and am pretty happy with them.

how do these compare with the sony wh xm3s in terms of fit and performance?
unfortunately I dont have xm3 to compare it to. But I have XM4 and qc35 and from what i can tell, qc is more superior in comfort and ability to wear for longer period of time whereas xm4 bass is much better sounding
Similar to Truck-kun I've only used the qc 35s though I have had xm3, 4 and 5s. ANC and sound quality were a priority so I stayed the course. That said I found them all very comfortable with the xm5s being the worst for me. The material is great but I find them too shallow so this will depend on your ears. I use them because they have fantastic audio and are miles ahead for a headset even in windy or loud conditions.

I do own the XM3s, earcups are starting to flake off, 5 years after purchasing them.
Thinking it's about time I do an upgrade. I'm thinking that the QC45s would surely be an upgrade from my XM3s..
I remember that happening on my…I think xm2s. They both seem good and the prices are pretty great for either.

rtings review gives a nice break down so you can decide if you want the sonys extra low end power, battery and ANC or comfort, much better headset mic and more neutral sound curve pre eq the bose have.
I honestly dont think you can go wrong either way but if you have priorities like a preference towards edm or you want to use the headset for calls it might swing you.

Support chat refused. "I'm sorry but we can't help you with the price match ."
Now on phone support, got the same speil "buy it again and return the other item" which is both wasteful and a poor customer experience. I got them to double check that policy and they gave me half the amount as a credit "as an exception". Pretty upset with this still. It's not about the money it's about the customer experience.
You could do the return and buy again thing now and get it even cheaper due to the credit… but yeah, totally agree.
What is the warranty on these? And would you likely need to use it?
