Their entire catalogue can be watched in half an afternoon.

    • +3

      I chortled.

    • +1

I concur. A few years ago I signed up for that pricing error deal ($5.99 for a year) and I didn’t feel like watching anything after I took a look at the catalogue. I never clicked into the app again and left the subscription lapsed.

    • +1

There's a total of like 5 shows on the entire Network worth watching & I only found out a couple of days ago it's the one guy who makes all 5 of them, a former Sons of Anarchy writer called Taylor Sheridan.

      • He’s written, and directed, some movies. Maybe look them up if you like his stuff.

        • +1

I did & then watched all of them.

Every last one was a banger.

This dude is better than 99% of Hollywood at making TV Shows and Movies. What in the world has that industry even devolved into, now ?

      • He really loves to Mary Sue himself in his shows tho. In Yellowstone plays a badass cowboy that the Duttons rely on to survive financial collapse then in 1883 again some badass frontier lawman that makes the titular characters go uncharacteristically fanboy over him.

Nothing wrong with the shows, but those parts are weird.

        • Apparently he jumps in and covers for last minute drop-out's behind the camera and in front of it too, to save on production costs due to the remote locations they shoot on. Saves on re-hiring, re-casting and no need to delay shooting. He begun working as a set hand and acting-extra years ago, slowly working his way through all the different jobs.

Has been a few decades since I've heard of anyone in Hollywood doing that sort of stuff. It's almost par for the course now that anything most of these people do gets stuck in production hell, endless delays & projects being failures right from the start due to forced diversity / union hire quotas. This guy comes along as an independent and steamrolls everyone, doing it for pennies on the dollar in comparison.

    • +1

A free trial or two is enough to watch everything.
Seems like it's just Tulsa king, Mayor of Kingstown, those western shows..

Ps. Did anyone notice the new Beavis and Butt-head, lol.

      • That new beavis and butthead is well worth the watch… if you kinda know what to expect

        • Yeah pretty good, and much better resolution and picture than the originals in the 90s.

    • +6

Obviously not a lot of Star Trek fans here. There's new Strange New Worlds plus a huge back catalog of almost ever Star Trek show ever made.

  • +14

If it was 50% off for 12 months I'd think about it .

    • +3

Exactly my thoughts. For 12 months I MIGHT consider it.
      For 2 months?!? No chance.

      • +6

Damage control for lost subscribers tightening their belt and saving money - while they'd also be expecting people to forget when just 2 months is up and then get charged full price.

        • +4

Kogan has the same business model. Except with them you have to opt in for reminders to cancel!

  • +1

Is this for existing customers too?

    • -1

      Yes.

    • +1

How do you redeem this for current subs?

      • Would also like to know - typing this under 'Promo Code' says it's invalid…

        • Where do you find the promo code section?

          • @interfreak: Assuming you're on the web: Profile circle (top-right of main menu) > Account > Subscription & Billing > Promotion
But yeah, I was already subbed (well, cancelled, but still in the sub period) and it says it's invalid :(

            • @BoredMartian: Im currently subscribed (not pending cancel) and it successfully accepted the promo code.

Now says "Promo - 50% discount for 2 months" above the "next billing date".

              • @systmworks: Aw, just tried again while 'subscribed' and it didn't work.
I guess YMMV with this code?

    • I hadnt renewed for quite a while, and when I logged in today, it automatically gave me the 2 month discount option to continue.

  • +1

Maybe the Apple TV or Amazon versions of the app are better, but the Android app constantly crashed on my TV. Couldn’t finish a single show.

Website streaming was okay, but I rarely watch stuff on my MacBook. No PlayStation or Xbox apps either. Service is worth $0 imo.

    • The LG TV app is stable but very unintuitive.

    • Seems OK on Apple TV. The content wouldn’t be any better though.

The only reason to have it is the football.

  • +9

I remember paying $8 for the year and the utter frustration the app gave almost made me question the value of it.

    • +10

The $8 year made me decide that was the maximum I was willing to pay.

      • +6

        I don't think I even got $8 of value out of it…

  • Not even with Smell Pennies

  • +2

Anyone else read the title as Paramount and half price?

    • Yep, there should be no space after paramount, but, whatever.

  • +5

Don't do it…I regret paying ~ $44 for 12 months. It's just waste of money.

  • Through amazon you can get various subscription for .99c per month for 2 months per subscription not sure if you can get it for multiple sub.

    • -2

      Huh? English please

      • +7

What they are trying to articulate is, almost all of the subscriptions available via Prime Video are on specials for 2 or 3 months e.g. MGM, Britbox, iwonder, Lionsgate+, Stingray, Docplay and more are all $0.99/month for 2 months. AMC+ and this Paramount+ are both $4.49/month for 3 months (slightly better than this deal with the extra month).

And yes you can get multiple subs, you can subscribe to any number or even all of them if you want. Note they all auto-renew at full price after the promotion period if you don't cancel first.

        • +1

Thanks very much for explaining! Cheers

        • Really? I’ve never noticed. How do we access them through prime?

          • @HelpMeiCantSee: You need to be an Amazon Prime member, or if not sign up for Prime monthly or annual subscription first, new members will get a 1 month free trial. Good timing as Prime day is coming up.

Then you can see these subscription deals here: https://www.primevideo.com/ after subscribing you can watch them all in your normal Prime video.

These deals are available for sign up until 12/7 I think.

  • +3

    Title gore

  • +1

Does this include Showtime now as well?

  • +2

When I last had it, I watched everything worth watching with in a month, so I much prefer a two-month deal than a twelve-month one. That said, apart from Tulsa King S1, which is a great series, is there anything decent on there?

    • +3

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a good show. Thinking of subscribing just to get the new season.

Anyone know if it's all out yet?

And can I sign up for the 50% off for 2 months, but cancel it after only one? (without paying for the 2nd).

      • +2

four episodes of ST SNW have dropped so far. At least two of them are good.

        • +1

Will there be 10 in the season?

      • +2

I just did for exactly this!

    • +7

1883 is great! (Even though Western is not my usual pick)

    • +5

      Yellowjackets

    • +2

Apart from the aforementioned, Halo was a disappointment but I would probably still watch season 2. There were a couple of scenes which were great, but watching them made you wonder why they couldn't have done better with the rest of the show. Master Chief needs to be kicking more arse

Really I am coming back for Strange New Worlds, apart from being very good, it's actually a great all ages show, no sex, nudity, foul language, as long as kids can get their head around some of the concepts it's something everyone can enjoy

    • +2

Just had Paramount for the first time. Same as you - watched Tulsa King.

Then two seasons of the Mayor of Kingstown. I enjoyed it 👍.

Started Halo - probably didn’t give it enough of a chance and left it after first ep.

      Other recommendations welcome.

      • You mean you didn't finish watching the adventures of Master Cheeks!?!

    • +5

The South Park covid movies are really great.

  • +4

It's three months half price through prime video. Slightly better than this deal.

  • Isn't there still a free month trial floating around somewhere? Always used to be.

    • +2

They're always doing free months, and you can just add a +1 to your gmail or something and it always gets accepted.

  • +1

Currently same price for 3 months if you sign up through Amazon Prime Channels.

    • so not like the MGM+ promo for 99c/month for 2 months

  • Aside from the Betoota Advocate show which I enjoyed a lot, have found remarkably little else worth watching.

  • +4

Do we have a Paramount Turkey lol

  • +2

None of these studios provide full catalogs :/

  • And they don't have Mission impossible Rogue Nation or Fallout to stream…

  • paramount any decent or go disney?

    • Can you not tell from the comments that Paramount is not worth even $8 for 12 months?

    • +3

Get paramount, watch everything you like then cancel it and get Disney, or get both then dump paramount.

These days rotation between streamers seems the best option. With the smaller streamers wait for enough good stuff to pile up then get a short subscription.

      • +3

Agree, no need to have too many on the go, unless got cheap from VPN deals and swaps. Even then you prob won't watch everything and other times there is still nothing to watch and end up on youtube!

    • +1

Try this Paramount deal for a month or two and have a good look around to see if it aligns with your tastes. It’s obviously fashionable to diss on Paramount but as always it depends on what you like to watch and how much. You can always cancel after the first month if it’s not for you. Or wait for a free month trial offer if you’re in no rush—they seemed to come around quite often a while ago.

Paramount doesn’t have Disney’s vast library of course, but I certainly found there was enough to make the 50% deal for 3 months via Amazon during Prime Day (or week) last year worthwhile for me, and will be signing up again during this Prime Day promo. I agree it wouldn’t be good value signing up for a year at full price though (for me anyway), whereas I kept the more expensive annual subscription to Disney for 2 years (which I recently let expire).

  • -1

I'd rather sails the seas than pay for paramount

  • Can we have the Turkish version of this

  • +3

You can still get 30 days free if you select the 12 month option, then add one of the promo Codes found on OzB, like STALLONE, create new account / new email ( hide my email option is good for generating on apple device) once done log into account and cancel straight away, you then have 30 days for zero ( you do need to add. Bank details )

  • Thanks, this post reminded me to cancel my subscription since the A-League season is over…

  • Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown are a must watch. Otherwise torrent the rest lol

    • Mayor of Kingstown looks good.
      Something I'd enjoy watching.

Figured as I have a heap of google rewards credit, went looking to see if I could spend some of that to watch this series.

What the hell is up with YouTube TV !!
      ($72.99/mo) $64.99/mo for your first 3 months,
      $72.99/mo thereafter

      What the actual….
