Even though I can't eat much, every time I see this posted my mouth waters, sucks to be in Perth on rare occasions.

    • +1

Wish there was a good lunch buffet in Perth, before anyone says the Bayswater, no just no

      • Don't you guys still have Sizzlers?

        • -3

Sucks to be in Brisbane on rare occasions…

  • +2

How does ordering food work? Is it like food in bainmarie, or do you order each time you want food?

    • +1

Order each time but the staff were pretty attentive when I went

  • +2

Food was good for an all you can eat. Definitely worth it in my experience

    • Thanks - will give it a go

  • -3

    Why not on weekends? :(

    • +19

For some reason they want to turn a profit on weekends

    • +1

We're actually thinking of extending it to Sundays - so stay tuned! Unfortunately we're fairly busy on Fri/Sat and unable to offer the all-you-can-eat then!

    • +8

That’s not grounds for a neg

  • Wish you guys did a pop up in Sydney.

  • +19

    Not $25, A$27.78, incl. A$2.78 Fee & Tax

  • +5

I'm seeing $27.78 per person including unavoidable fees and taxes?

  • +25

I'm seeing $25 + $2.78 booking fee + own transport costs + hotel/airbnb cost if coming from interstate + possible opportunity cost

    • +3

Just send them a bill for your time, easy.

  • -8

    27.78 not 25 dollars

    • +17

ok grandma its time for your bedtime

    • +4

I would have given you an upvote if you stopped at the first sentence bit then you went all negative on hard working businesses so take a neg

    • +2

Ohh really, what’s the name of your restaurant and what prices are you charging for food?

$27 for a buffet, with heaps of choices and you are still whinging 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • Literally no way to pay the price of $25 in the title. Does the $2.78 get refunded at the door on the night?

    • +10

      You shouldn't eat anyway

      • I figure eating at this event might give me the runs instead.

        • Check their reviews online

They have got near perfect reputation, very very rare for any restaurant.

          • +3

@Gervais fanboy: They compensate reviews with free bubble tea so I would take it with a grain of salt. They are at least a 4 star experience regardless though based on my experience.

  • +2

If seats are limited and in high demand, how does walk ins work?

    • +26

      They walk back out.

    • Hi there, we have fixed number of seats allocated for online-presales, however we do leave some seats for walk-ins (who can decide whether to go ala carte or all-you-can-eat). Unfortunately, we can't guarantee seats for walkins, so we highly recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment!

  • +41

What is this booking fee non-sense? People is so used to paying for extras, businesses are taking it for granted everything want to charge a fee.

Pre-booking is doing them a favour, so they can plan and collect money in advance. If Eventbrite charges them a fee, they should just absorb it as the cost of doing business, or factor it into the deal. Do they also want to introduce rent and utility surcharges?

Cafes and restaurants who charge credit card fees conveniently forgot the benefit of e-payments, not having to count cash, wasting time on changes, going to the bank for coins, handing out incorrect changes, lost, theft and worse. Card payments have saved them a load of time and trouble, and they have the audacity to charge their customers for that.

It really gets me when charity websites also want to pass on the hosting cost, I made $100 donation voluntarily, but that's not enough, they also want $5 more to help run the website. Goodness! Do they also want $10 more to cloud fund a computer?

      • +18

Well, if the advertised price is $10, I expect to pay $10.

What is the point of publishing a price list but charges different prices?

      • +2

They didn’t even make a decision, he made a statement. Re read their comment 🤷‍♂️
        And they are 100% correct

    • +6

I believe it's what they call a good ol fashioned scam.

  • +29

I'd have to agree, title should state $27.78 as these additional fees are unavoidable. it's the same as businesses needing to include GST in the advertised price.

  • -5

    pass, no vegan

  • +6

Wrong price in title, no thanks m8

  • +3

Even legit and well known sites can be super scammy with fees (I’m looking at you Airtasker). I’d bet that OP wasn’t clearly made aware of the fees that their customers would have added on and I’m 5000% sure OP isn’t benefiting from them in any way.

    • -1

Or OP was purposely trying to mislead. Their previous post even stated "$25 + fee".

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780507

      • Check revision history. That "+fee" was added by an ozbargain moderator 21 days after the deal was posted by the rep.

The rep was quite open in the comments about the fee, probably just forgot it this time. They updated the body of the deal when the booking fee was pointed out by ozb users.

Do you really think that a rep would want to invoke the ire of all ozbargain users just to make their deal read "$25" instead of "$25+$2.75"?

        • +10

Thanks for that! We were busy but came back to all these comments, and immediately revised this particular listing to reflect the fee, both in the title and the description!

In the future, we'll be selling direct from our own website (unfortunately currently still work in progress) - so there'll be zero booking fees involved, just a flat $25, which I'm sure everyone will be happy with.

  • +4

    Misleading Price

  • +8

Could you please correct the price in the title? There’s zero tolerance for hidden costs from ozbargainers.

  • +6

Advertising, wrong price and for those reasons I'm out.

    • +1

      Ozbargain tank.

      • I healed you and OP one upvote point

    • Hi Barbara

  • +1

Went last time, won’t go again even at $27.

    • +5

hmm can you please tell us why?

        • +3

Uber eats quality? You know that’s like a platform right?

          • @DingoBlue: Oh had no idea. Thanks for the heads up. Ill remove my comment.

            • +2

@Kaiserschmarrn: No what did you say?

              • +3

@capslock janitor: food was ok, but not enough for me to perceive value in the all you can eat. Each to their own tho - carb loaders and fried food lovers may find it worthwhile. Their food wastage policy ($15pp for 300g+ waste) compelled me to eat things that didn’t taste good - my bad for ordering the fried king oyster mushrooms. Korean fried chicken was the best on the limited menu but I can get that at places closer to me.

                • @Kaiserschmarrn:

food wastage policy ($15pp for 300g+

cant get overly experimental i spose

                • +7

@Kaiserschmarrn: Thanks for the feedback! Just to clarify, however, the food wastage policy is there solely as a deterrent to prevent people from ordering way too much food and then it all going to waste. If there was a particular item you ordered that didn't suit your taste, we certainly won't charge you if you didn't finish that item! We like to think we're pretty reasonable in that regard :)

P.S. We've had over 500 covers over the last few weeks for the all-you-can-eat sessions, and we actually haven't had to charge a single customer for food wastage!

                • @Kaiserschmarrn: When places have a food wastage policy I bring a plastic bag to dump any dodgy food into so as to avoid such fees

  • +1

Hey OP, the buying ption seems to be only 2 or more tickets? Going to stop by before work but just by my lonesome.

    • +2

Probably because I made them lose money last time when I went by myself lol

      • +1

Were you driving around all night?

      • Would love to welcome you back :) Shout out if you want to buy another individual ticket!

    • +1

Hey there, we certainly welcome you coming by yourself! We just had to disable single tickets, because of logistic issues where big groups all bought individual tickets and it was a nightmare figuring out which people were part of a group or otherwise. However, if you let us know your preferred session time, I can PM you a unique link which allows you to buy a single ticket!

  • +1

Incorrect price in deal title. Booking fee adds 2.78 to $25 cost. Total cost is $27.78.
    In saying that… still tempting.

  • +2

So what's included in the buffet? Is it all the normal stuff?

    • You can bet if you start eating too much the service will slow down till the end of session

      • Quite the contrary, at least in the previous sessions that we've run, it's been the customers slowing down way before the end of the session :)

    • +2

We've got a special buffet menu that changes every few weeks (different "stalls" being featured) - this menu is an assortment of the most popular items on each stall.

For this week, the bestselling items of the following "stalls" will be available:
      51st State - Burgers
Annyeong Chicken - Korean Fried Chicken & Snackboxes
Ting Mama - Taiwanese Street Eats
      Hotdogs Reloaded
      Loaded Superfries

  • darn it, im in nsw and im hungry

  • +2

Let me help with another negative vote. If a consumer can't get it for $25, don't advertise next week.

  • After covid majority of the businesses are chrging even when you do eftpos transactions
And it is a percentage of total spend.
Where are the politicians ACCC who introduced credit card surcharge arguing those who pay cash or eftpos actually subsidising credit card holders for interest fee period and reward points.
As a community we are accepting all these changes without protesting.

    • It used to be just a few tightass stores like MSY with a credit card surcharge, that people complained about.

So the ACCC issued guidance as a response to the complaints - but instead of the guidance being "don't do this", they instead said that surcharges were fine as long as they were realistic?!?!

So every business now has official permission to add the surcharge, which of course they quickly did.
Blame the ACCC for removing the grey area and formally giving the OK to surcharges.

  • +4

People seem to be very salty about $2 fee.. Meanwhile I'd just love to try $27 in Sydney.

Best of luck OP. Great price with or without the $2 fee :)

    • +1

The issue is not that $25 is good value and $27.78 isn't. It's promoting the deal as $25 when nobody can get that and the booking fee is more than 10% of the price.

Garden State, hopefully you will get that and not do it again next week. Why not just make it the price you want that is enough to include the booking fees. Your first word in the listing ….. "you spoke and we listened".

      • Hope you've never paid your taxes or any airfare with a credit card LoL

    • ppl have way too much time on their hands to get all principled over a couple of bucks. then again ozbargain

      • let's apply your logic to govt and police corruption etc etc

        • You're equating a 5% service fee with government and police corruption.

        • +1

lol … child farts at school …. let's apply that to a million cows farting and climate change…. kid must be removed!!

    Other Information:

    Drinks are not included

    Even water?

    • Water is complimentary, of course :)

  • +5

most of the food was delicious, excellent value at ~$28 and would go back, not sure why there's such a vocal minority, the staff were amazingly friendly as well

the only "downside" i could think of is that the fries when ordered were massive, i get the feeling if you paid for the fries a la carte without this buffet they wouldn't give you such a generous serving

would be happy to be proven wrong though

    • Hi there, thanks so much for your positive feedback :) We were glad to have you! I can assure you that the fries portion you get when ordering ala-carte, whether in store or via delivery platforms, are the same size as during the AYCE!
