    • The IKEA mixers are made in China, Franke Mixers are high end Mixers made in Switzerland, with a 15 year warranty.

The quality difference is significant. If you're located in WA you're welcome to come into our showroom and see the quality in person :)

my old cheap unknown water tap in the back yard has been 40 years old and still works……

      • where is your show room?

        • 58 Guthrie Street, Osborne Park

        Ignore the trolls…

They will argue about anything that can be done for cheaper, regardless of the quality or market tier.

      • 15 year warranty is only for the cartridge right?

        • 5 years parts and labour
          15 years cartridge

      • +3

You are spending your marketing budget on the wrong customer group..

      • Where does it say Ikea mixers are made in China and Farke are made in Switzerland?

      • +2

        From http://www.starcraftcustombuilders.com/sources.faucets.Frank….

" Franke designs but does not manufacture its faucets.
About 80% of Franke faucets are made in China, up from 50% just seven years ago. Most of the rest are made in Taiwan with a bow to England for some specialty faucets."

Franke's own website claims they have multiple manufacturing locations all over the world.

        • OP just got owned! lol

    • Yeh okay… like comparing a luxury car with a budget car. Both drive and get you from A to B, and both have air conditioning.

There is a logic to your point. Doesn’t mean it’s a good one… you’re comparing apples with oranges.

      • +3

Yes, because the simplicity of a kitchen mixer can be compared to cars.

Ikea mixers are made really well and have excellent reviews. Mine has lasted 10 years without any issues.

          😂

Toyotas are made really well, yet people happily pay 10x that for a Lamborghini that they only end up driving in the city.

You might think they’re idiots for spending so much on a car like that only to drive it in the city, but they have the money and they spend it however they like.

Your issue is that YOU don’t think a Franke tap is worth buying, and/or you can’t afford it. Good for you.

If only every bargain was determined by your own personal opinion 😂 OzPformag 🙄

          • +1

@wormarts: @wormarts: The advantages that a Lamborghini has over a Toyota are obvious. What advantages does a Franke tap have over an Ikea one?

            • -1

@Timm: What advantages does a lambo have on city streets? 😂

All those idiots with all their success and money… they should buy Toyota Corollas… 😂

            • -1

@Timm: Better build quality, higher flow rate, ceramic cartridges and more comprehensive warranty. As far as I know, IKEA don't cover the cartridges under their warranty, and don't sell replacements.

              • +2

@Rick Hart Outlet: But IKEA has 10 year warranty, and yours has 5… I dare say their warranty is better. Just take it back and they'll give you a new one without any hesitation, and it's 1/3 the price.

                • @31mop: The IKEA warranty is 10 years however their warranty only covers defects in material, does not cover filters, aerators, cartridges. I understand the appeal to a cheaper product, however we stand firm by the fact that European appliances are significantly higher quality in build, materials, efficiency and lifespan. It's comparing a Chinese made tap made in bulk to a Swiss made premium tap for high end residential use.

        • Also mixers sold at Aldi look of very good quality especially if we look at the price.
A comparable product would cost three time more in any shop.

    • this is no way an 'or'.. totally different build quality and aesthetics once installed

    • I have learned that when it comes to plumbing, you get what you pay for. We have two $199 Caroma taps in the house. Both have had to have their internal hose replaced. They have a 10-year warranty, but I will end up replacing both before then because the chrome is flaking, and the hoses are both due to be replaced again soon and I just can't be bothered (they are barely serviceable - that much of a nightmare).

I always wonder why are mixer taps so expensive?

    • I also find the black colour one is more expensive

    • +1

Stronghold of the major distributor in Australia.

    • Franke mixers are Swiss made and some of the highest quality tapware on the market, and include a 15 year warranty.

      • Where does it say that?

  • +5

The original price of $1159 for a tap is crazy.

  • Got a white one?

  • Any super deals on the matching sink?

  • I'd say this is definitely a deal for anyone who recently plan to replace a non-branded tap.

  • What is the warranty? Is it seperate warranty for the cartridge and the parts? Labour included?

    • +1

      5 years parts and labour
      15 years cartridge

  • My Franke tap warranty claim experience was terrible. (Believe it is a distributor in Australia market)
Franke sink is good, Tap is probably not.

    • what happened to make it so terrible?

    • Was this purchased through us Vincent? Let us know if there's anything we can do to help. We've not had any issues so far with warranty claims with Franke, happy to follow up for you if it's an ongoing claim for you.

      • No, I called Franke services instead of the reseller like you.
I guess the key thing pissed me off is their (again distributor for AUS) customer services in the process.
My first Franke sink was more than 20 years ago, it is still perfect. So I decided to go with Franke, but it was a sink and mixer bundle. I believe it was from appliancesonline.
In the 2nd year, the cartridge was faulty which means I could not turn tap off. (expected much better quality).
I called them for service, was told that I need to wait more than 1 week for someone to come. For a family with kids, unable to use kitchen mixer is a big trouble)
Then I asked If I can remove it (uninstall) before they can come (so I can get a temporary Bunnings tap to use). Answer was yes, but I needed to prove it was uninstalled by a licensed plumber, at my own cost. Not to argue, their warranty book said that it needs to be installed by a licensed plumber, but not “uninstall”. I was asking nicely, the lady had absolutely no patience.

  • Do you have any mixer tap that is lead free stainless steel?

Not really keen on drinking water from lead based taps

    • +1

Good question Stevey, I'll find out and get back to you

  • Hey OP wondering if you can help me. Recently moved into a rental and they have a Franke kitchen mixer which splashes like crazy. The force of the water soaks my shirt every time. It's driving me up the wall. Is this common with Franke mixers?

    • +1

Hey Smy, Franke along with most mixers will have an aerator flow restrictor - if this is removed, then it increases the pressure and can result in the flow being too much and splashing. You can buy replacements cheaply - this is likely the result of the issue.

      • Thanks mate, will look into it

  • Added you site for later :)

  • Get an Aldi tap and spray with black fiddly bits presto designer tap….

  • Bunnings ones are pretty good with 10 yr wty

    • If I had the receipts (building bought the parts during renovation, so I don't have receipts), I'd return the Caroma taps with their 10 year warranty. Both look like crap and are in bad shape.

  • Hi OP can you do a similar discount as this deal for this tap?
