    Good deal for Emily.

    • +15

      That’s a blunt joke.

      • +3

I don't get the point of these puns

        • His power maximum: brolly

        • +1

          Don't rain on his parade

    • +3

James will likely think this is beautiful as well …

      Or Snoop

  • +2

    are these foldable?

    • +6

      The canopy is.

      • 😂

    • the metro one is

  • +3

Thanks! I have a Classic with a carry strap (and it's fantastic) but was waiting for the Metro to have a good sale to have one in my work bag for those "it's suddenly raining and I don't have my umbrella" situations

I don’t know this mob but the Navy Metro is $88.55 with free shipping. They also have a 10% off first order thingy.

    • Any chance you could explain what makes these worth the money? Is it just a well made umbrella that can be repaired, or are there features that make this such an expensive item? The product description doesn’t do much to sell me on the thing.

  • +4

The price of blunts have gone down. Nice. ⊂(◉‿◉)つ

  • +40

Who buys an umbrella anyway? You can get them for free in the coffee shop in the metal cans.

    • +3

      Nice Seinfeld reference there ;)

    • And this is why I am paranoid to leave my Blunt at any shop I go to!

  • +15

Umbrella for $89.60?Youd better dont put it “in the coffee shop in the metal cans”

    • Well you tie a piece of string to it with the other end tied to your finger.

      • +9

It already costs an arm and a leg, shouldn't cost an additional finger.

        • Where are you getting arms and legs for under $100?

          • @Munki: In the mystery meat my local butcher uses for sausages.

  • -4

Can I ask how this is a deal?

    • +30

They're normally $130. If you don't understand why people are paying for this umbrella, then this umbrella isn't for you.

It's meant to be a buy it for life item and they're repairable

      • I'd be happy to pay for them but i keep loosing so ill stick with the cheap ones.

        • +8

Maybe you just need to keep it tighter.

        • Don't be so loosey goosey with them then.

          • @Munki: I don't really loose them on purpose

            • @stmgr: Wow even with the help you still got it wrong. You mean you don't lose them?

      • +1

I bought my first Blunt back in 2014, and I have had it repaired and fixed (once from my doing, once warranty repair), their customer service is fantastic too!

  • +1

$89.60 for an umbrella hard pass

  • +3

    Does this dry itself?

    • +5

Not only does it dry itself, it also dries you should you have managed to get any rain on yourself.

      • Sold!

      • +2

When I create a business, I want you as my number 1 sales person.

  • -3

LOOK THIS EXCELLENT DESIGN, DOES IT HAVE PINK COLOR? CAN'T WAIT TO GET ONE, A STRONG MAN NEED THIS

Tell me you're insecure about your masculinity without telling me you're insecure about your masculinity

    • -1

      Name checks out

    • +1

      But why are you yelling?

      • Hello, Saitama

  • -2

Overpriced item. Doesn't feel like an OZB material.

    • +17

Not all Ozbargainers are cheapskates expecting umbrellas for $1 delivered

      • +1

What! And pay the $1 delivery fee? No thanks. :)

  • +2

the umbrella is very small, so maybe have a look at instore samples if you are looking to shell out that much.

    • -1

The bigger the better. Thats what she said too

  • +4

this may be a high-quality umbrella but the unique design makes it so that when closed, it is WAY too big. Takes about twice the space closed as a cheap one from Amazon. Own one, hard pass.

    • +3

Agreed, is heavy and large when folded yet provides a small coverage area when unfolded(metro). Seeking a more suitable alternative

    • +1

Too small, too expensive, too loseable. I like good quality buy-once kit, but umbrellas are knock-around items and easily lost or forgotten etc. You can get quite good quality ones for $20 on amazon.

      • Nah, when they cost this much, you don't forget them.

        • 10 years ago I was on a holiday when I left my suit bag behind on the train. It had a suit and another jacket inside the bag. All up cost of about $700 for clothing and the bag was left behind, because I forgot.

          • @omblygombly: You probably wouldn't have forgotten it if it were a $1500 suit. ;)

            • @Munki: No way in the world would I spend $1500 on a suit. But the suit I bought was half price, so it was about $900.

  • +3

These umbrellas are great, bought two last deal and they hold up in crazy monsoon wind.

    Would recommend for the price

  • Omg what a cheap umbrella, we should buy as many as we can…
Q: is this has any Bluetooth feature.?

  • I bought a tesla umbrella for the same price lol

    • +6

      get well soon

    • +3

Monthly subscription to unlock your umbrella every time it rains is coming your way

    • Then they reduced the price

  • +1

People moved out of my apartment block and left a blunt XL. Solid umbrella.

  • Been waiting for Metro to be on sale. Grabbed one. Thank you

  • +3

    What recession?

    • You can’t have a recession with unemployment at record lows

      • Yea, damn new home buyers over extending their credit. These people I tell you…… always on the news crying. While we superior humans on Ozbargain know how to budget.

        • +2

Don’t worry — people are gradually moving all their streaming services to Turkey. The cost-of-living crisis is almost over

  • +1

Always wanted one, not cheap enough for my frugality.
Anyone else in the same boat, I recomend the Korjo ones, $26 on Amazon, used to be an office works staple.

  • +1

No good for me. I lose umbrellas regularly.

    • It’s better than hanging on to them, and taking the chance that you won’t mess up the landing

    • I thought it was good for me, then I left mine on a tram 😮‍💨

  • +2

My metro has been pretty good. Only two complaints are that it’s rather small in coverage, and its anxiety inducing to think about forgetting it somewhere or having it stolen with how pricey it was.

    • +1

Frame it this way — if you happen to lose it, you will gain the potential excitement of a Blunt deal alert

  • +1

    Waiting for Amazon to match.

  • +1

Fantastic umbrella. A must-have for a trip to Wellington, New Zealand.

If you can't justify it for yourself, they make for great gifts. (The umbrella, not the trip to Wellington)

    • +3

They're actually from New Zealand the company

      • +1

Not surprised—necessity is the mother of all invention.

  • +3

    Who else misses the Woodworms?

    • Not the trees

    • Yes! all mine broken or lost after years of solid use, cant find any similar deals anywhere, everything so expensive.

      • I rarely use mine so they're still going strong after all these years.

But I do regret giving some of them away as they were so cheap!

Ah the memories…they use to be the OzBargain's umbrella de jure lol

  • +1

Everyone saying they always lose their umbrellas. Partly because in most people’s minds they are not valuable items so you don’t care to make a mental log to care to not lose it. In the same way you probably lose your phone or wallet way less.

So buying an expensive umbrella might actually help you forget it less.

That said, for $89 I could lose a fair few umbrellas. And I don’t need more things to worry about losing.

    • +1

you don’t care to make a mental log

I use a mental VPN because I don’t want people to read my mind

  • Deliver: $7.95 to metro areas

  • +1

Can anyone vouch if these are buy for life? And what's the difference between classic and metro?

    • +4

      Classic

      Style: Full-length stick
      Open Diameter: 120cm
      Closed Length: 84cm
      Weight: 660g
      Wind-tested to: Category 1 hurricane*

      Metro

      Style: Collapsible
      Open Diameter: 100cm
      Closed Length: 37.5cm
      Weight: 385g
      Wind-tested to: Category 1 hurricane*

      • I bought mine in 2014 and it's still going strong!

    • +2

i can vouch for these. my partner bought the blunt lite in 2019 and it's still in great condition. after seeing her umbrella, i bought 3 more for my mum and sister in 2020 during a 40% off sale. it's one of those purchases which i'd be willing to pay full price if i ever lost it.

classic is 120cm while metro is 100cm

    • +1

I’ve had the Classic for around 3 years. Have used it very regularly in winter taking my dog for a walk and watching my son play soccer. It’s still in perfect condition despite using it in some very windy conditions. Prior to getting it, I’d go through countless cheap umbrellas. Wind destroyed them.
My partner has the smaller metro one. I find it a bit too small to stand in the rain with but has better portability.

    • +1

As long as you don't lose it, it will last (figuratively) forever. I had my last classic for about 4 years, used a lot in crazy shit weather, never missed a beat.

  • Just watched some vids and it does seem quite strong, I wonder if there's any similar designed ones on aliexpress.

  • +3

I have two of these umbrellas and whilst the build quality is good and they look great, I don't recommend them as actual umbrellas.

For their size, the coverage they provide is too small due to the edges curving in - you get much better coverage from umbrellas with a more standard design. Unfortunately, the better build quality also means that the umbrellas are quite a bit longer when folded up compared to the cheaper umbrellas you buy from the chemist etc.

IME, less coverage and yet taking up more space when folded up = not recommended.

  • +4

I started giving these umbrellas as presents. Most people don't know they need one till they have one. Worth every cent in my opininon. Specially if you live in Melbourne.

  • Hehe, Metro Black says

‘Don’t Pay’ is the recommended retail price provided by the supplier or obtained from the manufacturer, or is the recently advertised price for the same product on a different or competing online platform or store. Catch may not have previously sold the product at the ‘Don’t Pay’ price
