This vs dragon oil heater for babys room anyone? Efficiency and effectiveness?

    • same question

    • I'd be worried about the burn risk of an oil heater with a small child around.

Unless it's below -15C, have them harden up:

I have a DeLonghi oil heater. It takes a little while (but still decently quick) to heat up but once it does, it’ll stay warm for quite some time even after you turn it off. That’s in our main open (but small) living area. For a baby’s room, assuming it’s for when they’re asleep so risk of them touching isn’t a concern, I’d go with an oil heater. We used one for our kids.

    • I have this heater and have had other oil heaters before. This one is good because its fan forced and at a good height (don't need to put on a table). It has alot more of an instant effect because you can blow the heat right at yourself.

Definitely the oil heater. We purchased one for our babies room, it is so efficient and if you do some research (like i did) they are very safe. I ended up purchasing a second oil heater for our room. They are great because they radiate heat, so the room stays warm even when they switch off.

      Safe and cheap to run.

It is so efficient, all electrical sourced heaters are the same efficiency. So both the same fyi

All electric heAters output the same amount of heat-power ratio. Unless you have a heat pump/reverse cycle aircon that uses a compressor.

Yikes this gonna smash your power bill

I had calculated last month that this would cost me about $1 per hour of operation at max power.

I have an oil heater and it dries my child's lips at night

Keep their lips off the heater?

    • +1

I'd imagine a fan heater to be much much drier.

  • Anyone seen oil heaters on sale?

  • I like this soft of form factor - but I want a gas heater format. I don't think they exist do they?

Just gonna plug the facebook group My Efficient Electric Home if that’s allowed. All about finding ways that help keep us warm and save money where possible.

    • How does this heater rate on an efficiency scale compared to other options?

My favourite is north facing windows, but that requires the sun to shine.

  • I saw this at my local Aldi this afternoon for $102
