Good buy - seems expensive but had mine for a good 11 years or something now - Still going strong. Even crushes ice for smoothies etc.

Not sure how much i want to be Immersed in Gastro though.

I'm not buying one as I'm still using the deluxe version for about 13 years now. In-laws got theirs more than 20 years ago (the blender, not the gastro 🤣)

Really? Someone in Marketing thought the name "Gastro Immersion" would be a winner??

    • +1

English isn't one of the (four!) official languages in Switzerland.

Someone in Marketing didn't check that the comparatively small Australian market has a different interpretation of 'gastro' ('gastroenteritis') from a lot of the world.

UK has 'gastro pubs', a frozen food range (https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/search?query=gastro), etc. as a shortened version of 'gastronomy'.

Never knew only aussies used that word. Surprised it didn't turn out as "gastries" ("Yeah, nah, can't come in today mate, got the gastries").

    I got a cheapie from K-Mart ($15) in the early 90's.
    Still going strong.
Has a rubbery kind of feel over the 2 speed buttons.
Apart from the dated colours it works really well.

    • That’s great! How many Watts?

      • +1

I can't remember, not sure that was a thing back then.
I have crushed ice, nuts and the like with it.

  • wouldn't this do the same job and more?

    • And it's 1000w, so wondering the same in terms of a household appliance.

    • Biggest issue I've had with a lot of these multi accessory types is the plastic clips that hold the attachment on break off. Doesn't matter for the processor attachments as you can hold it down but not good for the stick mixer attachment as you have to hold the two parts together.

I have the same model. It is very well powerful and well built. Keep in mind the shank is very long as it is designed for commercial uses. The warranty is also only 2 years compared with non-commercial models which is lifetime on motor.

Good price. We have a 180 watt unit which was $169 and seemed a ripper deal

    Gastro Immersion?

    That's quite a name.

    It's also OOS unfortunately.

Lasted less than a normal gastro 😂, I will mark it as “out of stock”
