Boost $200 Prepaid SIM Kit for $175 Delivered @ Lucky Mobile

150

Probably more useful for an Officeworks price match, but just came across this. Plan prices and inclusions change on the 4th of July, so you may not be able to wait for the postage. Hopefully useful to somebody out there!

3/7 update: Price now $175 with $0 delivery. Was $169.90 + $5 delivery.

  • iirc, officeworks doesn’t offer price matching for Luckymobile

    • +1

Might be depending who you get, but I managed to get them to price match few months back with them without issue.

    • +1

OW still do pricematch. I bought ne on Friday. The $300 Boost was $253 from Lucky and paid $237.50 at Officeworks via the match.

Be careful, number porting is currently not working at Boost. Struggling to get my number ported over.

    • I can confirm. It is best Port out these days (to a non Telstra carrier) for at least 1 day, and then back. Unlike the past, Boost have clamped down will refuse to move existing Boost number to another Boost SIM. It's not impossible if one asks for a manager and give a sad story, but best port out and back.

      • +1

Yeah, I got knocked back on chat for the first time trying to get my existing number swapped over to the new SIM and got told that I could only do that by calling them. Only to get knocked back when I did that too.

        • +1

I got declined earlier this week for same thing. Chat told me there was a possibility my mobile number could be transferred from my current to the new Boost prepaid SIM if I call. But that it could not be done via chat. Previously I have done it via chat.

          • @Zolosun: Have you called? is it working? My call got declined.

            • @Cancan Fang: it was a long and painful process, but eventually I was told my phone number could be transferred to the new sim. After 72h nothing happened so I went back to chat and they helped transfer credit from new sim to the old sim. Next time I will get a random sim to port out and back.

Porting on Weekends is never a good thing.

    • Ported from Boost to Aldimobile to Boost within an hour yesterday without issues

    • had major drama porting over from belong- resolved after 24 hours and 2 phone calls

    • What does it mean it's not working? As in you lost your number, you were denied porting, or you started the process and you're in limbo atm?

Asking because I'm about to port from amaysim (Optus network) this week, once Boost is kind to finally ship my sim pack.

  • How will the recharge process work if you activate this kit after the price increase?

Will you get data based on the new price or old?

    • +2

From 4 July 2023 most of our activation and recharge prices are increasing and some inclusions changing. If you buy a SIM today, you’ll get the current data and inclusions upon activation, even if you activate after 4 July 2023. However, if you recharge after 4 July, your options will change.

  • Porting didn't work for me either, looks like I have to wait till Monday

  • I have a $200 SIM and was planning to port out to Aldi Mobile and back tonight (my current plan expires on the 5th July). I recall that you receive bonus GB's if it is done before the 3rd July? Is that right?

I may be cutting it fine with the port out/port back in?

  • FYI, ported from telstra to boost yesterday afternoon, took 5 mins all good, so not all ports are failing

    • Interesting. As Boost are Telstra am surprised you could port at all!

      • +1

No surprise here, they're still two different brands with different offer to pick.

Telstra or Optus need separate extra brands for different targets, to make more money by giving you more variety, more choice, sometimes the illusion of competition. And they're totally making money by allowing you to switch between their own brands, because otherwise you'd switch from eg. Telstra to some Optus' or Vodafone's plans.

        • Good to know. Thanks.

    Is Boost still 5G?

    Edit: Yes it is.

  • Successfully ported from Boost to Telstra in about 5 minutes this afternoon. Was also able to get this price beat at Officeworks. Will let you guys know how I go porting back…

    • Just as simple porting back - they seem to have smoothed out this process significantly since last time I tried it. Hopefully works for anyone else trying the same thing!

  • So whats the best way to add credit boost cheaply? sounds like there is no real way except porting out and back in which sounds like a hassle

    • +1

Pretty much. It's not too bad if you have a smooth run like I did. I have had nightmares in previous years with porting (not necessarily Boost) so I tend to tread carefully. Unfortunately they don't reward current customers with a discount, only new customers with prepaid SIM kits.

How much gb data is the $200 365 day plan have? is it 140gb for new customers? https://boost.com.au/products/200-prepaid-sim

    • +1

      Correct.
      140GB for new customers.
I'm on the $300 280GB plan and used around 130GB on 4G phone.
Plan is renewing soon so I'm debating whether to drop down to this 130/140GB plan to save some $$$.

      • You could drop down to $230 with 170GB, discount at our website as well.

  • It's still 140GB for Boost $200 SIM if activate after 04/07/2023. And all our SIMs expire on 22/02/2025.

  • Can anyone explain the difference between these two offers
    https://luckymobile.com.au/mobile-plus/product/boost-200-sim…
    https://www.oztechbiz.com.au/product/boost-200-prepaid-tri-c…

How much data would each provide for the 12 months? First seems to imply 140GB ($14.58/mo). Second states 130GB ($13.42/mo w/ discount code).

    Have I got that right?
