  • Not bad on the v15

    • It was under 800 just 2 days ago though.

      • Not for anyone who couldn’t c and c at binglee tho

  • +1

Thanks, just ordered the V15 :)

  • +6

SB has a flash sale from 12pm - 6pm which stacks with the 15%. Says "up to 5%". Otherwise CR is 4%

    • +1

I'll mention that on the main code post. Thanks.

Looks like an all time low on the V10. Shame I just pulled the trigger on it via TGG eBay in this deal

      the OzBargain effect

      • +30

I try to live by the rule that once you've bought an item you don't look at future deals for said item but somehow I always look at the new deals.

        • Yes, I need to unsubscribe from getting alerts for dyson. Picked up the v11 on a previous deal, but would have gotten the v15 if it was this price.

          • @hazwing: I didn't even have deal alerts turned on. I was just scrolling the main page while watching the cricket.

  • Thanks OP just bought the v15 abs for $800 with 4% CB from Cashrewards.

  • +4

Bought the v7 by using the gift card I got from the samsung s23 deal, only got tile floors at home and no pet, should be enough, thanks👌🏻

  • Tried getting the V15 delivered and it's coming up with "can't be delivered to your location. Please select pick up instead." Closest store with item in stock is 375km away. I live in Perth.

    • +1

No delivery for me, only C&C. Must have depleted stock rapidly.

Favourite? Everything I've read is that they're horrible and not worth the money..

    • Confirmation bias perhaps?

      • +1

I've never used one. Only seen a guy at Godfrey's make one block up and stop functioning with a 50c piece of polyfil haha.

But yes many people complain about the batteries and that they only last a year then they need replacing. I imagine dreame and the other brands are equally as bad. I've not seen any reviews on the v15. Maybe it's much better..

    • I don't like ours and think they're highly overrated but there doesn't seem to be any consensus on an alternative.

    • +2

Must be why everyone buys them

    • I used to think the same, then I went cheap and bought one of those dreame kickstarter ones, oh boy nothing but regret. My next vac will be a Dyson again

    • +1

I agree. I bought a v10 and took it back. My $150 Vax Blade is just as good and still going strong. Not sure why people are OK paying this much.

      • Just returned my Vax 2 Blade (they have a 3 year replacement warranty now). Battery was almost dead. 1 minute max on high power.

        • Do you leave it on charge all the time by any chance? We only charge it as we need it and haven't noticed any degrading of the battery. We have the original version.

          • @SKiZO: Wow. Yes always on charge but thought the smarts always ensured it didn’t overcharge.

    • Everything I've read is that they're horrible and not worth the money..

I guess you never read Choice magazine. For 2023, Dyson V10 and up are in their recommended list (V11 fell outside the list but the score is reasonable). The top 3 recommended models are Dyson: Gen5, V15, then V12.

    • Just count the up votes ?

  • For Tile and Timber floor two floor small house, how is V7 Advanced as budget vacuum cleaner? Any suggestion?

    • I suppose you should go v10 onwards

    • +1

For timber you generally want a “fluffy” head. Some of the newer models might (claim to) do both floor types, so you don’t have to swap heads.

    • I would never bother with the low end Dysons, v10 or higher is the go, not being able to change the battery is a huge issue.

V11 outsize was worth the money for me

  • +1

    Tempted by v10 or v11

v11 seems to have slightly better suction but is 400g heavier. Worth $110?

    • +3

I think what pushed me more towards the v11 as well is that the batteries are meant to be more switched over

      • It only comes with the one battery though, right?

        • +1

Yes only one, but Dyson have in the past offered free extra battery when buying direct from the site

    • +1

If you need swappable batteries then that might be a consideration for going the v11.

In my case I wanted it to be lighter (V10 or V12), I also wanted to quickly swap batteries (V11 or V12), reasonably priced (V10 or V11), and available at GG (V10 or V11). So I just got angry at Dyson and bought a Samsung.

  • Is the v15 the gen5?

    • No

    • different model lines.
      gen5 > v15

  • +1

I was about to get the VIOMI A9 for $185. Is the V7 ADV worth the extra??

  • +2

keep in mind it's the V15 Absolute, not Complete, which makes the ebay deal a few days ago better as it comes with a few more tools including dok stand plus the crevice tool is built in

    • According to Dyson it comes with dok stand and crevice tool, will pick up mine today and will check before opening.
      https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-v15-detect-absolute
couldn't check what extra tools 'complete' includes

      • It looks like the additional $99 add on is only if you buy from the dyson website. also the crevice tool built into the main body is only on the v15 complete, not on the absolute. they're all a bit confusing if you don't know what to look out for

        • Picked up mine comes with everything that says in the box on website including the ones you mentioned above

          • @BaarOzGain: So is it the absolute or complete because the absolute does not have the crevice tool built into the main body. It’s a separate attachment. May not be the biggest deal but it’s a convenience to have it built in.

            • @ironworthy: The one in this deal is detect absolute which is the one I got. The good guys website clearly says what is in the box including crevice tool. Haven't seen complete set so not sure what extra tools it would have but this one has enough tools for me. Only tool I noticed that this one doesn't include is that bending thing.

              • @BaarOzGain: The crevice tool is NOT the “built in” crevice tool in the complete, and the dok is the wall dock not the freestanding dock in the complete.

  • Does the V7 have a head on it suitable for a smooth floor (we have wood floors)?

    • yes but you have to buy it if no on the absolute package

    • +1

but the head that's on it works for both hard and carpet but there is a soft roller attachments that works better on hard floors

  • +2

took an hour with the slow website but got there with the v10… thanks OP!

    • Couldn't wait for 5% CB?

      • +1

Got the 4% on CR so I'll have to hand back my ozb card!

    • sooooo sloooooooooooow 🐌

  • Dyson are discounting hard, I put it down to the robot vacuum cleaner market taking maker share away from Dyson so now they need to work to get the sales

    • +7

Manual vacuum cleaners be like: "Damn robots took our jobs"

  • I'm getting "You do not have the proper authority to log in. Contact the store for further information." so it looks like I'm going to save $600

    • Also have this issue on the main site - you might be trying to log in with your Commercial Store info?

      • Yeah I just made a new account and it worked fine. Hope Cashback tracking works.

  • Ended up going with the competing LG A9 Mulyi Cordzero - $487.37 after special/15% off/4% cashback.

Better rated than the V10 and V11 by Choice, and comes with spare swappable battery.

    • +2

Interesting. In the 2h it takes to complete a checkout on their website, I got to read your comment, watch videos comparing the LG A9 with the Dyson V11 that I had in my cart, and switch to the LG instead, to save a couple of hundred bucks.
Was concerned about the V11 weight, problem solved. Thanks.

      • +1

Glad I could help, I had similar struggles with the website, multiple reloads

    • What does choice recommend <$300?

      • +1

In cordless and stick vacs none are "recommended" under $300, but the "Black and Decker PowerSeries Extreme Cordless Stick Vacuum 4in1 BHFEV182-XE" is the top rated in that price bracket

        • Thank you, looks like the Samsung Jet 60 Pet is hard to beat at $296 via TGG and $279 if you add the extra 5% SB cb!

  • Tried to order a V10, delivery option not available then not available to pick up - nothing available 500km around Sydney!

    • Harvey Norman same price I think. I bought one.

  • I tried my best to buy the V15 and couldn’t. Site was so slow and no stock. Just as well, because I had then gone to a store and was able to try it out. It is way too heavy.

Dialog between me and the Dyson rep:

Me: “The V15 is quite heavy. The Gen5 is ridiculously heavy. The V10 is not bad weight wise.”
Rep: “The V15 is more powerful.”
Me: “Is that all you got?”
    Rep: “So much power…”

So I had a look at the Samsung Jet Bespoke Complete instead. It checked all the boxes - great reviews, lighter, bin extractor, spare battery, and more accessories. After the discount and 15% it was $765 (RRP $1,299).

    • i like the Samsung Jet Bespoke Complete. However the vacuum bags are disposable which means there is an ongoing cost for it and can be an inconvenience if they go out of stock. Thats the only thing that kept me away from buying it.

      • Yeah I thought about that too. You can get bags on alibaba for pretty cheap though - I’ll probably just buy a lifetime supply. That’s what I did with my Roborock.

Worst case scenario they don’t produce bags in future, you can just not use the extractor. When that happens, you’d probably be looking at a new vacuum anyway.

Dyson’s are cool, but the rep just needed to understand my requirements and not try to shove the most expensive (and heaviest) vac down my throat. Even putting the prices aside, I just found there were too many compromises (pros/cons) between each version of their vacs (old or new).

        • I never thought of not using the extractor but thats a good idea. Did you end up purchasing the Samsung Jet Bespoke? If i were to get it the white colour seems to look the best imo.

          • @TheWashedLord: Yeah I did. It’s so premium. I don’t have to hide it like I used to have to with my old Dyson. It’s nice enough to have it out for everyone to see.

  • I went in this arvo for c&c and the line was out the door… 30-50 people

I'll pick up my v11 tomorrow lol

    • +1

      RIP the RBA

  • Site has been f'd all weekend. I give up.

  • They got rid of all the v15 retail stock and now Dyson putting up new stock with the fluffy optic head instead!

  • Anyone else get an email regarding V10 being out of stock?

Seems as though they’ve offered a different model number though. Don’t really understand the differences.

    • Seems as though it doesn’t include the hair screw tool

      • I received the same email…and they call the alternative they offer an upgrade.

        • Also seems to have a different docking system. Very misleading re: offering the "upgrade", unless I'm missing something.
