Question Answer
1. Is Boost operated by Telstra network? Yes, on the full Telstra network
2. Does Boost support 5G? Yes, for all Boost prepaid customers and it is currently on trial until 3 April 2023
From 4 April 2023, 5G network access will be included as standard on your service and we’ll be introducing capped download speed caps on our 4G and 5G networks
3. Does Boost support e-SIM? Sadly not at this stage. However there are plans to do so
4. Do you have to activate the SIM within 30 days? Every Cashrewards Boost cashback up to and including April 30 has been approved (confirmed by TA) - provided you activated within 30 days of order
5. How long is the SIM expiry? Usually 1 year, but to qualify for cashback the SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering
6. It is showing “new customer” on Boost website. What does this mean? New customer term is only for the additional Boost data, and nothing to do with the cashback offer
7. Can I receive international text message (aka int. roaming) with this SIM by default? Yes, you can receive SMS while overseas, but can’t send outgoing to Australia
8. How long does it take to receive the SIM? According to the Boost Rep: Once dispatched, you should receive your order within the following business days: Metro Areas – 2-5 business days for capital cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart & Brisbane (order before 4pm). Non Metro or Regional / remote areas – 3-7 business days
9. Is porting in a Telstra number to Boost considered a "new customer"? From Boost Mobile rep via dm: Porting a number from Telstra to Boost is definitely considered a new customer
10. Are you able to purchase multiple plans using different names / ID (or can I purchase 4 x plans for the family using my own details)? From Boost Mobile rep via dm: Received clarification from the team and this is a tricky one since for compliance the terms is showing the customer is only allowed 1 sim per transaction but he can buy multiple SIMs and then activate them all under his name and he will then be able to manage all the numbers when he logs into the App with his Boost ID.
11. Information on what to do when the "please try again later" message comes up List of indicators that can affect how your order is flagged in different financial systems, which can hopefully help you understand what is going wrong
12. Can this be used to recharge? No, this is a starter pack. Using as a "recharge" is being dis-allowed and activating first and moving the number may be allowed but is frowned upon and may not be allowed in future depending on how you ask for it.

Enjoy!

  • Just bought 2 and one email shows $12.5 cashback while the other $13. I was wondering what the hell then saw this post. 50c loss😂

  • From Boost website, it seems that the SIM needs to be activated by 3 July. But from the cash rewards website, it says it needs to be activated within 30 days of order. Quite confusing

    • +1

From 4 July, you may only receive standard 20GB upon activation as the bonus data will only apply to the new $35 starter pack. 3 July is only related to the bonus data offer, not the expiry date of the SIM.

      • what about the 200GB pack?

        • You should be able to activate it on the day before the expiry date printed on the pack, not the exact expiring day in my experience. Any bonus data may not be applicable.

WARNING! Marketing scam. you may not get your money back! Happened to me.

    • +7

OK. Depending on how you view the offer, I think Boost Mobile may be scammed by most ozbargainers.

      • +1

I’ve purchased and activated thousands hundreds dozens quite a few Boost SIMs, and got the cashback every time (so far). So, if this is a scam, then it’s the best pyramid scheme this side of the International Date Line (by a lot)

    • +1

I have always got my cashback from Cashrewards. Maybe it was something you did or didn't do. TA is your friend. Reach out to him and he might be able to fix the issue.

    • What happened?

    • +1

I’ve had my cash back paid every single time.

  • Does anyone use the SIM? Or just activate to claim the cashback then never touch it again? What's the strat here?

    • I use the SIM for extra data in a mobile hotspot. MF910Y.

    • +1

The strats for this are almost endless. Besides never having to pay for mobile data or home internet if you use it for tethering or in a sim-capable wifi router, you can use the essentially unlimited mobile numbers to enroll for sign-up and birthday freebies such as Guzman y Gomez, Hungry Jacks, Subway, JB HiFi Perks, etc. You could eat every meal every day for free if you felt so inclined.

      • Subway has sign-up/birthday freebies? Man. Wished I knew

        • Don't get too excited, I think changed it to like a free cookie and drink with purchase of a sub.

  • +6

HOOOOLD. Til 4pm June30 for better upsize profit 🫣

    • Are you anticipating an EOFY deal that may or may not be better profit wise, or are you aware of an upsized deal coming?

  • -4

I purchased the Sim and activated it within 20 days. Cashrewards didn't track my purchases which always happened. I then made an enquiry to them. Below is cashrewards reply.

we have been advised that you are not eligible for cashback as this transaction was referred by another affiliate.

I then asked what other affiliate was. So far no reply. When I make the purchase, I followed all the steps, login my account, click the boost mobile link via cashrewards website. I don't think I did something wrong.

The fact is, cashrewards did record my click, I then could make the enquiry. I did purchased a boost mobile sim and activated it. I can't see a reason why I am refused!

Absolutely frustrated and disappointed! It is not about $15 dollars. It is unfair and could be a marketing scam to everyone.

If you happen to own a smart phone… the APP is the best way to get things tracked properly IMO. Since the website may be affected by ad blockers or whatever else. YMMV.

As for marketing scam… i wonder who’s actually being scammed.. ask my paid off mortgage 🫣

    • +3

10 from 10 successful (approved) Boost Mobile cashbacks for me from Cashrewards. That's a success rate of 100.00%

Just accept it is VERY likely that you took a wrong step somewhere and stop calling it a scam.

    • -1

Use the app. Browser tracking is always garbage.

  • -5

Scam always starts with a profit!

    • -1

…as this transaction was referred by another affiliate.

This is YOUR fault… No one else.

    • Not attacking you but you can't seem to respond to messages so you just start a new trail. It seems likely that you did something wrong when trying to purchase. Everyone aside from yourself seems to have gotten their cashback so it sounds like human error to me

  • We're slowing going back up profit wise, $4 profit deals incoming? fingers crossed

  • Hey all, just trying this out today and it's tracked. Can I get 2, 3 or 10?? Any risks getting greedy here.

    • +1

Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions

I haven't participated in this deal (yet), but on previous Cashrewards related Boost cashbacks I have purchased 2+ in separate transactions without an issue. Just make sure to activate them all otherwise your cashback won't be approved.

      • Many thanks kind sir!

  • Good Deal. Loving this pay me to use mobile data paradigm.
Not sure about boost & 5g included. Never seen it on my new phone. 4G plenty fast, surprised to never see 5G icon.

All my CR have tracked and paid. Disable ublock origin and use Firefox.

  • $14 via SB today.

    • How how you found SB's cashback payout time for boost sims vs CR?
