i couldnt justify myself for a 150$ toaster
I’d get roasted if I spend $150 on a toaster
I will get toasted by the toaster if I spend $150 on the toaster
We've got this and kinda regret it a little. It doesn't have a high lift function, which is a bummer for smaller pieces. It also doesn't have a "quick check" function, which I'd also taken for granted. The "keep warm" function only lasts for about a minute.
That said, its countdown timers are quite useful.
Good info
Agree with you completely. We also have this toaster. Looks great but that's about it. Super disappointing for the kinds of reasons you said but worse than that 2 of 4 slices died after warranty, feels like they put all R&D into the aesthetics and little into quality. Wouldn't buy again.
Super common. Nice looking but poorly made toasters. See a lot of them dead fairly soon outside of warranty. No parts to repair either.
Two separate comments about dying after warranty- hmm planned obsolescence perhaps?
I had one a few years back and it didn't even last as long as most of the cheapo Kmart ones I've owned. Looked nice, though.
We have the 2 slice toaster version of this, and opted for a 4 slice sunbeam alinea, and when comparing the 4 slice it definitely didn’t do as nice a toast which sounds weird haha.
Update, from this comment I decided to go with the Breville Smart Toaster 4 Slice. Love it.
Can you please advise what is smart about the toaster?
The beep it makes is soo annoying. I have the single version of this. You can open it up and remove the beeper
Jesus thats more than ive spent in my 52 years on kmart toasters
Must be for the people who also have bourgeois glass kettles and the like
I'll take that.
I'm perfectly happy that spend money on a toaster (maybe not this much) but why are they all 4x1 design?! 2x2 is just that much more flexible/useful.
We briefly had a Breville 2x2 and it was gigantic, even compared to this one, volume wise. Wife had me send it back immediately. I thought a 2 X 2 would inherently have less space wastage, but no.
A 2x2 is great for long slices, but a 4 X 1 allows you to save a bit of energy by activating only two rather than all four slots. We just never use the big slices.
Is it 5g compatible. At $150 I trust it is, plus bluetooth, 4k and can massage me.
I'd rather buy this high investment yield toaster.
i like that they give you the option of Kermit Green to show youre a complete lunatic
It's not easy being green
I have the two toast version and it is honestly a much better toaster than Kmart ones. Digital countdown is nice too. I did however got it for $49.
My toaster broke down a month or so ago. I now use my Kmart sandwich press to toast and OMG. Far superior toastage, no dried out slices.
This is toasting gentlemen.
I keep the oven on all day and if I need some toast, just pop some bread in. Electricity bill is through the roof though
I've had this toaster (different colour) for almost 2 years and think it's great. I keep it on the same setting and it browns to my liking consistently. Believe we paid roughly the same price and despite hesitations before buying, in regards to price, it was worth the money in my opinion.
We've had ours for 4+ years now and it's been great. I think we paid closer to $200 (with a gift card I was given), not sure I'd pay that much but it's been rock solid. I wanted to spend more and get a dualit but the boss wouldn't let me haha.
I received this as a bonus gift for some forgotten product or service, it would have been at least 6 years ago, possibly 8+ years ago.
No issues, it works now the same as when we unboxed it. Looks very nice and is easy to clean.
We use the toaster several times a week.
I cannot comment in the price or value as our unit was free.Having all the features would be nice, but i found a video review online and they said it took long to toast the bread, and it also dried it out.
Could the users that have one already comment on this?( I'm happy to keep using my cheapo k-mart toaster) :D
I am not sure about the toaster taking too long to toast bread; it is not fast but I don't think it is slow. I am not generally in a rush to eat my toast so this has not been a problem for me.
I have not had an issue with drying the toast; toasting will result in a dry and crunchy surface. Possibly this is more related to the type and thickness of the bread being toasted; sourdough, bagels, fruit loaf and whole grain are all ok.
I bought the previous 2 slice ozbargain deal, it's lasted a year with hardly any use… not sure if needs cleaning or repairing
This design looks really good.
Sadly no $150 toaster for a guy that doesn't eat toast.
