      • +1

Got the $50 from one of the free gifts by referring ppl offer, then some refunds and price adjustments

  • +2

lol just spent $50 literaly 40mins ago never think it will be on shopback

    • +1

Maybe cancel and reorder the same :)

  • +4

Might be better to create a new account and get the 30% new user coupon

    • +5

You don't need to use new account, I've used 3 30% coupons.
ALSO, you can redeem expired coupons with the automated help. Try to re-use one of your old ones.

      • "Sorry, this coupon has already been expired"

Can you pls explain how would you re-use?

        • +5

Open a support ticket, there should be an option to reclaim expired coupons.

          • @BoltThrower: Thanks for that. If you don't mind, can you pls share any 30% coupon left? just wanted to try if we can use other user coupons

            • +2

@keepsmiling: i entered the last two 30% off coupons for new users that were posted here on ozb. they worked but instead of the original $28 min spend it's now $59. too high a spend for me unfortunately.

          • @BoltThrower: Do you need to chat to someone or is it automated

      • I would also like to know how to get coupons?

      • Nice tip. Just got all my expired coupons back that I actually had planned to use. Well played.

        • do you have any codes with a min spend of $30 or less?

        • how did you do it. do you have to chat to someone?

          • +1

@ironworthy: Automated live chat. Went to 'Support' and renewed like 10 coupons

      • whatttt omg so smart

      • Won't let me use a 30% coupon as I'm not a new user…how did you manage to use multiple?

  • +3

Never heard of Temu until just the other day. If possible, could someone please briefly explain what it is, whether it's legit/safe or not, and if it's worth considering buying stuff from?

Any reason to consider Temu over Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Banggood, etc?

    • +7

I think it's like the new Wish if it also had a baby with AliExpress. That's the vibe I get from the ads at least but I'm no texpert

      • nah dont compare with wish, wish is a no no full of scam

      • whats texspert ?

    • +5

I've used few times it's legit. Pretty good with 30% off new user coupon.
It's sort of refined aliexpress with less listings but that also means less craps. The biggest selling point is quicker reliable shipping.

      • +2

Pricing seems to be slightly more than AliExpress, but shipping is definitely lot faster. Returns was easy process.

        • +4

I'm so over Aliexpress with their dodgy conflict resolution policy changes. I hope they tank.

        • I've found the pricing to be similar or better than AliExpress for a lot of products though. Moreover they get even lower once using these coupons that are always available. YMMV.

    • +4

It's hit and miss, read the reviews and take pictures of fine jewellery knock-offs with a pinch of salt. They'll use the original photos and the reproduction won't match. Again, reviews with photos are a must for such things.
I've bought a reproduction Ridge wallet which is great, a belt, USB cords.
There's certain tricks you can use like adding a bunch of stuff to your cart and waiting for a special tailored discount.

    • +1

It's easier to use, much faster to ship (with a delivery guarantee), and generally less scammy than AliExpress or Banggood.

    • Quality is what you'd expect from that type of website

  • Is Temu legit.

  • I thought Temu is the new Wish. Certainly didn't expect the possibility of cashback.

  • +1

yes legit, bought a few times already including on Wednesday where I got this 10.5% through Shopback

    • a lot of the same items sold on Temu are cheaper up to 50% cheaper than through Amazon and Ebay, not everything but a lot I have seen so far.

      • Do you mind sharing what items you looked at? I had a quick look and haven't found cheaper items yet.
Had to refresh the page a few times to search as it took me to a sign up/login page and wouldn't let me search further

      • I think you'll find it's the other way round mate

  • +3

This a good time to fall for those youtube ads about vegetable slicers?

    • +2

Is there ever a bad time? I've been wanting a mandoline slicer to make some apple and banana chips. Thoughts and prayers as this Irishman weens off potato chips.

    • Yes, it looks great in the drawers/pantry for the next 10 years after being used once.

  • Curious to know if any of the 'New User' coupons invalidate the cashback?
It says "Don't use promo codes not listed by ShopBack. This will invalidate cashback" but on ShopBack's site there are no promo codes so is it safe to assume that any type of coupon provided by Temu will invalidate the cashback? If so the new user coupon % would likely out-weigh the 10.5% cashback

    @gotyourback Can you please confirm?

    • Hey mate, unfortunately not, only codes that Temu provide us to list on our website are available to stack with Cashback.

      • what are they. i just looked on the apps and didn't see any eligible codes provided

        • They haven't provided any codes at the moment, so there aren't any, the above was just general advice for future ref.

      • +1

Hardly worth it then when you take into consideration the new user discount codes available, might be okay for existing users.

        • Even for existing users, they earn coupons by buying stuff, and those coupons are more than 10.5% discount generally.

  • +5

Ordered a bunch of stuff from temu a while back and they were all junks. Very poor quality plastic used and multiple items arrived with defects. The only saving grace was that refund process was easy. Wont be using temu ever again

    • Did you have to return the items?

      • No. Im not sure if it will be different for more expensive items but the most expensive item in my order was 15 bucks or so.

    • +2

Have made few orders by now and never was the item defective but would not deny the possibility, however refund process is clearly amazing in such cases!

The only recommendation to everyone wants to try temu is to look at the photo reviews if available because most of the times the items are not as good as it is displayed in the ad images.

  • Has anyone bought men's cycling gloves from Temu or similar sites before? Do you have to size up a lot?

    • +1

I have not personally, but product reviews should help with such questions.

  • Is temu actually legit ?? or fake chinese garbage junk stuff (like how wish item A picture has bike, and only option to buy like item B in cart) or (how items just dont work) or (basically other garbage tricks we expect from chinese sellers) ?

    • +2

Temu is very much legit. As long as you pay attention to the $ you paid, read the reviews and dont have outworldly expectations, its more than fine.

Wish is a scam operation but Temu is like Aliexpress in that regard, there are certainly bad stuff mixed in but theres no fundamental scam on Wish level. Support is better as well.

Most important thing is Temu have by far the fastest shipping over Aliexpress or Geekbuying or Wish and have it for free (minimum amount required, of course), and yes faster than Chinese eBay sellers by a long mile offering basically the same stock.

  • Dumb question but how do people navigate around international transaction fees? Just open up a no fee CC or?

    • I used it once and they charged me in AUD so no international transaction fees.

      • I was getting charged in AUD too, paying via paypal & Suncorp CC. Suncorp ended up charging an international transaction fee though.

        • not sure where did you shop but on temu, its all AUD, no GST (its included).
basically they are LOCAL same as jbhifi but the stuffs coming from china direct

          • @CyberMurning: Definitely shopping in Temu mate.

Paid via Paypal in AUD. Few days later I get charged by my bank for international transaction fees separately

            • +1

@seamer: Can confirm, my order on temu was showing as AUD but still got charged international transaction fee.

Will definitely be using my 28D card for future orders.

            • @seamer: Are you using VPN or some such? I've made about 4 separate orders. No international fees

        • +2

@seamer It doesn't matter if you pay in AUD, what matters is where the merchant is located. In the case of Temu, overseas. I've had an international transaction fee on a westpac credit card for buying shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt or T.M.Lewin (can't remember which one) as they were located in the UK, despite all the products being shown to me in AUD pricing including GST. This was a few years ago. Since then I got a BankWest Platinum Zero credit card with no annual fees and no international transaction fees and never looked back! For a non credit card option, check out Macquarie for a free bank account and debit card with no international transaction fees (ING is another option but you have to deposit $1k and make 5 card transactions each month to unlock the free international transactions)

    • +1

      Bankwest platinum zero

  • +1

I scrolled through the store for 5 minutes, could not see a single item that I would actually spend money on. It all looks like landfill.

  • +1

Temu is legit. I've spent hundreds of dollars there already. Think of them as the Amazon of China. Goods seem to be centrally warehoused and packed and shipped by Temu with guaranteed fast delivery. They use Express Post when it hits Australian shores.
Some stuff isn't cheaper than AliExpress or eBay but almost always is cheaper than Amazon. Stack with a 30% coupon and it's cheaper than everywhere else. Minimum order value of about $15aud.

Example of what is clearly cheaper than everywhere else is a Drill/powertool wall mount. About $20 before coupons vs $36 on Amazon/eBay

    • Can I ask how you paid for your products on Temu? I’ve paid via Paypal previously in AUD but then my bank is charging international transaction fees on top of my CC

      • +1

Yeah for some reason they apply international transaction fees. I got caught out and wasted a bit in fees. Switched to my 28degrees card instead via PayPal

  • I' ve made a few orders from timu and have been happy with the price and quality. The 7 day shiping is awesome.

But sometimes looking for another item(s) to fill the min spend amount to meet the coupon spend can be difficult as there is a lot of stuf that ibhave no desire for. I usually just buy kitchen sponges to get me over the min spend amount.

  • +1

Also their refund policy beats Amazon in my experience. Don't want something? Something not 100% right? Automatic refund instantly. Please don't abuse this else they'll probably change their automation… But honestly been refunded for $30 of items so far. Forgot to clarify no return necessary…

    • I wonder if they ban you similar to Amazon banning people for abusing refund/returns

  • Was impressed with shipping times on my latest temu order

    Arrived in a week

  • For me, I didn't find the shipping to be that much faster than Aliexpress. May have just been my luck but it still took 2 weeks, which is similar to Aliexpress.

    • my order last week arrived in 7 days

    • Request your $5 credit as part of their delivery guarantee

      • Delivery guarantee timeframe isn't that short. It was still delivered within the guarantee window.

Temu is selling sh!t. All products should be sent to bin

  • +1

Do we need to have a min order of $30 from Temu ?

    • yes. 29 or 30 cant remember

      • That is a bugger

  • +1

    temu vs ali
yes agree temu has less items, if you need very specific thing maybe not on temu but by having less itesm on temu its actually better,
on ali if you search for something you get 10000 result with all the pricing doggy tactic where you click the low price item and found out it is for something else, and when you filter by low price all the result gone, when you filter by free shipping, the result still have shipping fee

  • Cheers OP

  • I was hesitant to buy at first then I watched a couple of youtubes from legit crafting sites who took one for the team and bought a bunch of stuff and reviewed. I've been bitten on Ali with clothes etc so not at all interested in anything like that so I went with sublimation blanks and earrings with cats on them (being a Crazy cat lady) - like any jewellery I buy from Ali/eBay - I know it is junk and as long as it is cheap and looks like the picture and lasts a few wears I'm golden - some last me years before they fall apart or the "silver" turns black or green. Everything I bought was fine. You just have to know what you are buying - like don't order that Chanel and be upset when it arrives with "Channell" all over it haha

  • Order take 1-2 weeks to arrive.
    Shopback hasn't tracked my order
I paid with apple pay and there was no transaction fee

  • Can someone ELI5 Cashback for me, I am seeing it everywhere and feel like an Ozbargain fraud for not using it.

    • @balu Amount spent x cashback % = money credited back to your account. Takes a few months for it to be approved so people can't do fraudulent transactions to cheat the system.

  • I've tried using two different Coles Mastercard prepaid cards to pay for an order but was rejected each time. Has anyone successfully used this same method to pay for a Temu order? I'm trying to figure out if it's a problem with my cards or Temu just doesn't accept them.

  • Cant seem to use the link on shopback to temu

  • Where is the post about 30% off new temu user? Its gone.. weird…. who was the OP?

    • It was marked as an unobtainable deal and removed by Mods.

      • but it is obtainable, right? as long we do it within 24hours or something argg.. i didnt take note of the code - do you remember? thanks

        • +3

@ChiMot Unobtainable as it has a minimum spend of $59, capped at $47.
          Code is join5623

          • @trixieb: lagend. thanks i may have something $59 to order

            • +1

@CyberMurning: Uninstall and reinstall the app if you have any issues with the code

              • @trixieb: sure. i dont know why not just adding minimum spend to the original post, instead of deleting.
plus this cashback, that is very good deal. very easy to spend $200 in a month on temu, if i have $100k salary i will buy $50 each week from temu for sure

                • @CyberMurning: May I ask what sort of items you are browsing? I usually buy from AliExpress but haven't bought from Temu yet. The variety is less than AliExpress

                  • @trixieb: accessories for vita, surface, galaxy watch, some household stuffs, kitchen gadgets, downlight smart led, pet stuffs
yes less variety but for me it works well as temu is still cheaper with free shipping, save me time browsing as ali filter is broken.
very specific items yes i still buy from ali

  • Back to 2.3% cash back earlier than expected. I was building up my cart waiting to purchase later tonight so have missed out on the 10.5%. That’ll teach me to wait too long.
