Damn, great but with the MSI UEFI key leak, is it safe to own?

    • Are you are target for nation states or other random people in your life that can get physical access to your computer?

      • They don't need physical access. DATA IS KING, I wish people would know that Data is so much more then what people think.

        • +1

          Data is data.

          Quit the tinfoil hat drama

          • @eddyah:

            Quit the tinfoil hat drama

I said there is much to data then people think, that was it. How was that "tinfoil had drama", if I had said "You are being watched. The government has a secret system, a machine that spies on you every hour of every day" then that would be tinfoil had drama.

            Enough said, move on.

        • True, definitely my favourite Star Trek character

      • Yeah, actually. I am. I have documented evidence too. It matters.

I don't get why you have 2 neg, when asking a question like this given what had happen.

Sounds like a nothing burger. Remember the doomsday Intel vulnerability a few years ago, what became of that? What about that Logitech keystroke hijack thing? Nothing.

Just do your own due diligence.

  • The 12th gen version has the crappy battery life

    • This is rated at 12-16hours….

      • Maybe on idle in the desktop with nothing running. I doubt you’ll reliably get past 6. The 1240p is a very inefficient chip.

        • +2

MSI laptops run quite cool and power efficient with their undervolt i think, i have the MSI Prestige 15, it can do 10+ hrs when it's new. I also have the 1340p of this Prestige 13, certainly can do 10+ hrs no sweat, 1-Watt 450nits panel.

  • TB4?

    • Thunderbolt 4, it's intel USB controller that I think goes to 40 GB/s

  • Is this touch screen?

    $949 with code SEOFYHG

    • Thanks, deal updated

  • How's the build quality compared to, say, Intel M15 NUC laptop?

  • Can anyone who has this product report on battery life, please? I'm tempted to buy and wondering if poor reviews do it justice. 13th gen versions appear to have reasonable battery life according to online searches. Can it be that much different/worse between 12th and 13th gen?!

  • This or the still available Modern 14 $789 ?

    • The weight is significantly lower and the battery capacity almost double for less than $200 more

      • Yeah but the P series also uses almost twice the power of the U series, 28W vs 15W.

But yeah the prestige is smaller and lighter with better specs.

This is now $919 it seems with SNSMD.. code

  • Deal back on for $939 with PSNSJULY

This deal is more than 2 weeks old and there was also a slight price reduction with a different coupon code. If the deal (old code) has expired just leave it be and don't change the coupon. Doing so breaks the "related coupons' functionality too.

Please don't edit old deals in the same manner in the future, you will basically be burying new deals in the past, the community won't see it or know as there is no notification for this sort of edit and it also denies others from posting the offer and it being picked up on our social media feeds / daily newsletters.

Either repost it again or give the opportunity to some one else if you can't be bothered to repost.
