  • Anyone knows what’s the difference between wifi and non wifi?
What functionality do u get with wifi?

    • +1

No wifi - Open remotely via Bluetooth with the Security app, or by using either the electronic keypad or the key.

Wifi - Control From Anywhere: With its all-new Wi-Fi connectivity, you can control Smart Lock from absolutely anywhere via the Security app.

      • Is it possible to control the no wifi version from anywhere via a Bluetooth gateway?

    • +1

Paid $300+ last year for the wifi version T8520T11 . It works with Alexa. Also, can lock / unlock with app from phone. Also, can creat temporary password for access remotely.

  • Sometimes these Costco online specials are even cheaper in store. Does anyone know if that is the case for these locks?

edit: just called Epping Costco and the person working on the membership counter said as far as she could tell it was online only.

  • IMHO, wifi and fingerprint are must. I use the finger print to lock and unlock all the time.

    • Why is Wifi a must? I'm trying to think of a use case to match the price difference but I can't. Can't see any reason to unlock remotely, and locking remotely seems like it would be redundant with any kind of auto lock after x minutes setup which i'm assuming they can do. What am I missing?

      • Remote open for someone else that you can trust? Say, if my dad comes to my place while I am not at home, I can simply unlock the door for him. If $100 is too much for you, just buy the finger print version.

Wouldn't someone you trust, like your dad in this example, already have the access key or at least you'd be happy to just give them the number? Seems like a gimmick to me. Sure if you have cash to splash go for it, but a 'must have' feature?

      • with wifi you also have lock / unlock notification. It also tells you how it's being unlocked, e.g. unlocked by whose fingerprint or passcode.

    • Our fingerprint reader failed within a few months of use. You get used to using the pin pad pretty quickly :(

      • Why don't you claim warranty?

        • Officeworks wants it brought back into store. Meaning I have no way to lock my door. Not worth the hassle going to Bunnings to buy a replacement lock

    • Why do you have to use fingerprint to LOCK?

  • I have both the Fingerprint and the Bluetooth and I love them both. The Fingerprint has always worked for me and I wished both of mine were Fingerprint. I cannot talk for the WiFi but when my son came round to water the plants and I was up the coast, I spoke to him on the phone, saw him on my camera, opened the garage doors and gave him the guest pass number. Too easy.

  • Each to their own but I bought a no-name wifi smart lock from ebay (tons of Tuya compatible ones out there) for around $100 and it works fine. If that doesn't instill much confidence in you, the Orion Grid Connect from Bunnings for $189 might be good option too (looks its tuya-compatible as well). I doubt if Eufy is any better than the no-name ones in terms of security!

    • Quality of deadbolt and other materials like plastic, alloy, board… differ
Orion is a single latch, much less secure than deadbolt in terms of force breaking

      • I am in a rental with a single latch originally, so went for it. Otherwise there are options available for deadbolts and what not.

  • I bought the non touch version but unfortunately it is not connecting to my mobile via bluetooth even though i am just standing next to my lock.
It only connect first time once pin set up completed it doesnt connect and eufy support is of no use.

I've got T8510T11 & I'm having the same issue with Bluetooth, hence unable to unlock/lock via app.
      Other methods work fine.
