Doogee have a new Android tablet out that's comparable to the Teclast T50 Pro I posted earlier and seems to be better on paper for less. Like the T50 Pro this is another 11" tablet with the Helio G99 CPU that makes it more suitable for gaming than the UNISOC tablets. As a launch bonus a stylus pen and case are included.

This one has Widevine L1 too so streaming services like Prime and Disney+ will be in HD, however Netflix will likely be in SD. For reviews you can checkout this video and if you can't understand Japanese, set the subtitles to auto-translate to English as it's quite accurate.

Featuring Android 13 with Google Play, 11" 2560x1600 IPS display, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage (microSD support), MediaTek Helio G99 Octa-core CPU, Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 8580mAh battery with USB-C 33W fast charge, 4G LTE with dual SIM, 20MP+2MP Rear Camera, 8MP rear camera, Hi-Res Audio quad speakers, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack.

  • Is the display laminated?

    • Always. You'd struggle to find anything good these days that isn't.

      • No idea what that means for a display, is that good or bad?

      • iPad (base model) begs to differ

  • +4

is it pronounced as dodgy ?

    • +11

That was funny 9 years ago. Interestingly a small debate between 512mb and 1GB RAM. Oh how times have changed.

      • +1

OzBargain is the home of unfunny joke recycling ("I bought 50 of <SomethingExpensive>")

      • Surprised this company has been around for that long, never heard of them.

        • +1

In the early days of Android phones (10 years ago) they were pretty well known around OzBargain/Whirlpool for offering good spec phones at a low price. These days they're bigger around Europe.

          • @Clear: My god these guys are still around.
Back then I had a doogee dg800 phone, it had a capacitive touchpad at the background.
Don't think it was a great phone.
            But it had removable batteries.

            • +1

@MagicTsukai: Oh man I miss those days. I remember brands like THL had the removable batteries. Everyone was rocking phones from them, Lenovo, Zopo and more.

              • @Clear: I also remember the Ainol tablet device.
The brand name and bad jokes just sticks to your head.

                • +1

@MagicTsukai: That's an old name. Ainol was the best. I never did pick up their tablets but came close.

                  • @Clear: Ainol Novo Hero10, it was my first tablet, the only downside (misleading practice) was no wi-fi reception because the internal antenna's signal was too weak.
I fixed the issue by pulling the antenna cable out and taped it behind the case, the signal was still very poor.
All the rest was top quality, I used it during school time and for gaming, video and audio, offline map, word editor, translator etc. etc.
                    The battery was amazing too.

        2014 was 9 years ago 😧

  • is this Android stock?
anyone have any feedback on this tablet?

    • +1

Stock. It's a brand new release so don't expect anyone to have feedback. I have linked a video of someone who got it early.

      • thanks I watched the video, UI looks clean, but I don't think this is stock Android, some icons / settings were different

        • +2

Probably some minor changes. It wouldn't be pure AOSP, but close.

          • @Clear: I came here from the Teclast T50 Pro page and by looking at the specification I agree that this Dodgee has better features and specification.
What let me down about the Teclast is the ZERO information regarding the LTE frequencies.

  • +4

Gosh that's a lot of device for not much moolah

  • +1

Damn great timing. Mother in law's ipad is kaput won't charge due to water damage. This will be a good replacement.

  • +1

Not familar with this brand, how are Doogee's tablets in general?

  • +2

    Thanks @Clear got one
I like this one better than telcast, will post feedback when I get it.

  • bought one a few years back and dodgy as hell. became electronic waste in a few months

    • +5

Impossible. It hasn't even been out for a month.

      • -4

i mean i bought a doogee phone back then

        • +5

Times have changed. This is a completely different product with proven hardware.

  • Ha, I remember being so intrigued by the Doogee Mix and wanting one quite badly, given its price and stunning screen.

A look back now and it's nothing special compared to today's phones

    • Doogee Mix still has some pretty good specs compared to budget phones these days. Mainly the AMOLED display.

  • I'm curious to hear any feedback on the keyboard attachment.

  • Say…. If I was in the market to buy one, is this worth it?
I haven't brought from AliExpress before… I'm going to assume you get no warranty unlike if you buy a device that is local you get the warranty however, most devices locally don't even have 8gb of ram so apps run like crap on 4gb

    • These tab quality is good. I have one different company and it pass all the benchmarks. But if you worried on warranty then try blackview from ebay. They are realiable plus offer extra insurance on broken screen etc.

  • What do you normally use tablet for these days? Genuine questions cuz the last one I owned was more than 8 years ago.

    • mostly online books and online shopping

    • Watching offline and streaming videos, TikTok, NewPipe (bloatware free Yuotube alternative), gaming, Google Maps etc. etc.

  • Whats the firmware support like with doogee ?

    I'm guessing it's like teclast and alldocube ? (pi55 poor to non-existent)

    • +2

      Correct. Don't expect firmware updates.

  • Came to $280 for me as only one code can be applied. Any advice?

    • Which one doesn't apply and what does it say?

      • +1

'These codes have already been claimed. No worries, you can still enjoy other great deals on AliExpress.'
        I reckon its expired now.

        • Yea the promotional deal has gone, but I am sure it will be back soon again, as they will compete with Teclast T50 Pro price again.

        • +1

Seems T30PRO20 gives you that message and not SS17.

  • RAM: 8GB (+7GB extended) - meaning?

    • +1

Virtual RAM. The tablet will utilise some of the storage onboard. The results are mixed and I don't think there's a significant performance gain.

      • Thanks, I suspected that, and I assume would be part of Android rather than specific to Doogee.

  • Looks like they've added the coupon T30PRO10 which knocks it down US$10 instead of US$20. So US$170.14 total now.

  • Thanks op ordered one.
With the SS17 and some auto applied coupon plus 2 dollars off with coins I got it for 243.67 Inc GST

    • +1

Hmmm not sure how you guys are getting these prices. Starting price is $USD191.99, $USD12 off for 'spend and save' automatically, SS17 $USD17 off - so with tax thats $USD181.14 - none of the T30PROxxx codes are valid anymore. So best i can get is $AUD266 at present.

  • +1
  • Why is this AliExpress standard shipping so much slower than what's it's been for everything else I have ordered recently.
Still not even in au customs yet

    • Yeah mine is stuck at Singapore.

  • Finally got the tablet today. Netflix App Playback Specification says FHD, and video quality does look FHD to me, so that's nice. A good tablet and great deal.

    • Same here mine arrived today.
Generally pretty impressed with the build quality and CPU. They didn't send me the stylus though and offered a 1 dollar refund.
