Logitech MX Mechanical Mini - Tactile Quiet https://amzn.asia/d/5qvHxj9

    Also cheap at 144.72

    • Wouldn't you just buy a keychron at that price?

      • +2

They're great because the function keys and key mapping software work with Mac and PC. These are one of the few mechanical keyboards that do that.

        • +2

Keychron: Yep and they have hot swappable switches. They have a mac/win switch on the back. Wireless or usb C wired. Fully programmable through a website. Check out the Keychron K3 Pro. Also means you don't have to deal with Logitech software.
Keychron have far better battery life and far better stabilisers - let alone better switches

          • @onlinepred: I agree with everything you said except the battery life. I have owned 5 Keychron keyboards over the past 4 years. I also used 2 logitech keyboards - currently a G915 at work and K3 at home.

            Logitech battery life is unmatched.

      • +1

I wouldn't. Almost every keycap on my low profile keychron is worn off after about 6 months. Started at about 2 weeks.

        • +1

My work K3 is going strong nearly 6 months in now with zero wear. I mean do you use hand sanitizer or something? Luckily, you can buy great keycaps at a great price on aliexpress!

          • @onlinepred: Work from home. Wash my hands a normal amount, do no use sanitiser or cleaners on it.

            • +1

@SaddenAscentAspirin: Wow you must have acid for sweat! My keys still look new after 8 hours a day 5 days a week for nearly 6 months now! Did you reach out to keychron about it?

        • +3

          Try Double Shot PBT Keycaps.

          • @Richardc: Double shot low profile keycaps are half the cost again I had in the board (black friday), so it's just going on the spares shelf. This board has some issue with the usb-c port as well starting.

I know plenty of people that think they're fine, so I wanted to try one. Did not live up to the hype for me.

            • +1

@SaddenAscentAspirin: Just keep in mind, if you buy ABS keycaps, this will happen. They do this to reduce the cost to make keyboards more affordable, as the hardware in the boards are very high quality. Many will swap keycaps anyway. Low profile PBT keycaps off aliexpress are around $20-30 and will last a very very long time. I mean my two mechincal logitechs have failed switches, which you can't replace, so I'd rather knowingly buy cheap keycaps with amazing hardware that's hot swappable than be stuck with a logitech keyboard that you can't fix (unless you desolder and buy their crappy switches)

          • @Richardc: Aren't all keyboards double shot now? I even my cheap kogan board has them.

        • +2

I've had mine for over 2 years now and it looks brand?

I am a software engineer and use it for at least 8h/day 5 days a week. I don't game and don't eat while typing

        • +1

I have very bad experience with my low profile keychron. Some of the key combinations stop working or very hit and miss. It is much worse than my cheaper Havit low profile. I don't really understand the hype on keychron

  • Thanks, bought one to use at home. Have a M720 for work.

  • We really need these to be upgraded to usb-c.

I have a bunch of logitech mouses but refuse to buy another when usb-a is dying a slow death.

It's weird that some of the mouses are advertised as Windows and Mac yet there are less and less notebooks that even have an A port (Macbook doesn't any more and some high end windows machines don't either)

Cmon logitech, is it really that hard?

    • +10

Hmm the MX Master 3S I have is usb-c. I'm more annoyed about my G-915 being usb-micro. Logitech cheap out on one of their top of the line keyboards with usb-micro…

      • What's wrong with usb-micro?

        • +12

Everything’s moving to USB C. New standard. Knowing one cable will fit all.

      • +1

MX Mechanical keyboards are C, it's coming gradually

      • +2

        Same. I bought a 3S last year and it's got USB-C.
Definitely has as I use the same charger that I use to charge my Pixel 6 Pro.

    • +2

They sell a MX Master 3 for Mac which comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable and no bolt dongle.
I wish they had dongles that were USB-C as I notice the latency on bluetooth

    • +3

I’m happy with USB-A, I just built a new machine with a MSI MAG, it’s got seemingly dozens of USB-A, but one or two USB-C.

    • +3

What are you on about? MX Master 3 has been USB-C for years.

      • +14

I think he is talking about unifying dongle, not the charge port on the mouse itself.

Btw, love my mx 3s and very tempted to replace my mx 2 at home.

        • +1

          I just use Bluetooth 🤷🏻‍♀️

          • +1

@kerfuffle: I feel the lag sometimes on bluetooth, so prefer dongle. Another thing is bluetooth only works after windows has started(non-issue most of the time), but still prefer dongle. Personal preference.

Got 2 dongles setup on laptop & desktop so all good. bluetooth with ipad works fine.

            • -1

@ace310: DIY perks on youtube converted his Logitech receiver to USB-C.
              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-vFtiDYiIw

              • @theguyrules: Nice. But I am fine with usb-a as it's connected to a dock with 3 usb ports so no issues for me. Also, do have 1 usb-a on my Dell & Lenovo.

                • -1

@ace310: Yep, same. I actually stopped using my MX Master 3 as even using USB receiver, I noticed the latency too much, so I use a Logitech mouse with a Lightspeed receiver.

                  • @theguyrules: Never had any latency with the dongle.

                    • @ace310: It's not really noticeable until you use a gaming wireless mouse. Then you can tell its there.

            • @ace310: Same for me. BTW, do you know if Bluetooth also drains more battery than a unifying dongle?

              • @hiaaron: Sorry no clue. Again never really worried about the battery as it does last long. Charging it while on a break or after work makes it ideal for me.

              • @hiaaron: Usually Bluetooth is significantly more energy efficient than wireless dongles, this is also the reason why a mouse connected via BT tends to feel less responsive than other connection methods.

    • My MX Masters 3 has usb c. its like 3 years old now

      • +1

He's talking about the receiver, the one plugs into the computer.

    • Extra R&D cost aside, an USB-C receiver will probably physically weak, increasing the chance of breaking.

Compare Jabra Link 370 (UBS-A) and 380 (USB-C) receivers to get an idea.

  • +1
    • How’s this compare to the Vertical?

      • +1

I have both. The Lift is designed for smaller hands. The scroll wheel on the Lift feels a little loose, I prefer the scroll wheel on the Vertical. The Lift has quieter clicks if that is important to you.

        • Thanks. That’s helpful that you have both! Do they both have the silent scrolling?

I have larger hands I think but I use the MX Anywhere every day and enjoy it. I’m tempted to get a vertical.

          • @GeneralSkunk: The scrolling is pretty quiet on both.
The Lift has "free wheel" which allows it to keep spinning when you scroll fast. I'm personally not a fan of this feature.

  • yeah this is my mouse at work its a really good mouse might look at getting one for home.

  • I've got the regular MX master 3 and I still don't know why anyone wants that thumb ramp. I know we all hold the mouse differently but these take away my feeling of where the mouse is under my hand and eventually give me wrist pain.

    • +2

I couldn't live without the thumb ramp. Each to their own.

  • Bought this last week through Amazon AU for $123 - any chance Amazon will credit me the difference or would I need to go through the process of buying a new one and returning the one I got? If the former, how I even go about contacting about an order?

    • +2

Bought this last week through Amazon AU for $123 - any chance Amazon will credit me the difference

I tried to ask before, end up return and buy again.

    • +5

Buy this and initiate a return on your older order. Return the new mouse

    • Try to ask them to issue promotional credit for the inconvenience, otherwise you will need to return it anyways

  • Bought this to use at the office but just realised now it doesn't have backwards compatibility with the unifying receiver. Oh well.. buy now, think later 😄

  • Officeworks didn’t allow me to price match as their ASIN is different from the Amazon one. Did get to price match the MX keys for $113 on edozer.

    • The ASIN is Amazon specific, Officeworks wouldn't have an ASIN number.

      • Ah that is right. Officeworks wanted a model number but the Amazon listing had nothing apart from the ASIN. I think the worker thought that the ASIN was a model number or something.

    • +1

910-006561 is the model number you are looking for, I used that to price matched a week ago. However I have no idea why the current amazon promotion listed the item model number as "MX Master 3S"

    • They price matched to $104.22 for me last night, after my Performance MX started cutting out yesterday.

  • I didn't like the non-tactile feedback. It felt mushy. I prefer the click from the old gen mx masters but I returned it because the scroll wheel was funny.

  • Price match at JB and use 10% ultimate?

  • Thanks for posting, just ordered one.

  • Grabbed one cheers OP, great price and same day delivery for me :)

  • +2

Price matched at Officeworks. Thanks OP.

    • Lucky you, the guy was very meticulous and couldn't find a matching model number so he didn't price match it for me

  • Logitech quality has gone down a lot over the last few years. I bought a G300s mouse recently and found out that it stopped clicking - faulty switches. Had to buy a few cheap switches from ebay to make it work again.

Do a google search on issues other people are having with Logitech products

    • +1

Not heard anything related to MX series, but enlighten me.

        • +2

All pointing to G series. No mention of MX. Just cause one product lineup has issues doesn't mean that all products from that company will have issues.

I have been using atleast 5 MX series products and probably atleast 10 workmates having 2+ products in our company and haven't heard anybody complain. So again hard to believe that all Logitech products have gone downhill.

          • +1

@ace310: Yep can confirm G series has gone down hill very quickly. Headphones, keyboards, mice, all terrible quality these days. Got a new G502 and it's worse than my 7 years old G502, meanwhile current MX3s is still fantastic and high quality. Not sure why they dropped the G series.

    • I mean logitech does sell a lot of units so there will be more complaints for Logitech

  • Pricematched OW. Thanks!

    • make sure they "priceBeat" by 5% not just price match it :)

      • Yeah sorry i meant pricebeat. Maybe try another store?

    • Everyone's price matching at Officeworks. I guess the one in Livo sucks at price matching, they needed the model number in the Amazon listing and so they rejected it - wanted to use my gift card.

      • +2

try calling their customer service line, usually they are less "picky" in terms of priceMatch/Beat

        • +1

Ah thanks for the tip, do you mean confirming if they can price match it and then coming into the store?

          • +1

@FrugalFindsDownUnder: Yes, price beat on the phone and pay using your credit card, collect in the nearest store.

            • @FlindersStud: Oh, right that is definitely more convenient. I do need to use my eftpos gift card in person but will keep that in mind for my future purchases with my debit card.

  • +1

Surprised this is still not OOS. Cost of living must be biting a bit.

  • I'm just using a MX Anywhere 2. Should I get this, will it make my experience much better?

    • +1

Yes. Anywhere 2 is a different kettle of fish

  • thanks got 2

  • Great price!

  • +1

I always have been using mouses under the $100 price range. I bought the mx master 3s and I can tell why it is so expensive; It's build quality is amazing and its shape is amazing, very comfortable.

  • beautiful mouse, bought the 2nd gen and the anywhere but the later is too small for daily use

  • +1

I found that using alcohol wipes to clean this mouse can melt the soft rubber easily. it looks high quality but in fact it's not.. some paint comes off after few months of everyday use..

    • There's sticker for MX master 3S.

  • Thanks. Bought one at OW this morning. Price Beat. Cheers.

  • Gotta say I am pretty impressed with Flow. It's given me the easiest way to transfer files from Mac to PC while having my mouse jump between both computers

  • and of course my mouse dies today :(

Whats the difference between the regular one and the mac one?

    • Mac no USB dougle.

and of course my mouse dies today :(
