Yep. I personally can't think what value a sim would be on my smartwatch, but I recognise that some people like to go outdoors without a phone or something.

"…some people like to go outdoors without a phone"
and… they will come back swearing and angry after 30 mins because their smart LTE watch has no battery left….

        • +5

Yeah I bought an Active2 LTE thinking it would be handy. It just got hot, used too much battery, and dropped signal. Totally useless feature.

          • +1

@wintermadness: yeah the tech team should give one to their ceo to try first.. probably they will all get fired of making such a failed gadget

        • +2

          Not really.

My original galaxy watch lte does NOT get hot and the battery still lasts 2 days with LTE on and has never dropped a signal.

Best thing ever not needing to carry your phone to the gym.

        • I have the Watch 4 with LTE and in my experience so far, it has been fine away from my phone without getting hot.

  • Shame it isnt the gold one, good price.

    289 damn good… and here i bought 2nd hand classic4 46mm BT for 179.. oh well

    • +1

Well, you saved $110! Put it towards your next one!

The graphite one was a similar price a few weeks ago.

    • +1

Rotating bezel is so nice though.

      • +1

agree and 46mm is good for old eyes

      • +2

I too like the rotating bezel but with the W5 you can run your finger around the edge to achieve the same thing.

        • +2

I've found the physically rotating bezel much nicer to use than the digital bezel control I had on the Active2 — still a very useful way of navigating though.

    • I paid $419 for this BT GW5 back in November….spewing.

  • any offer on the smaller version?

    • Yes, there are discounts but not as good. About 30%. Note this deal isn't an offer per se, but price match.

Amazon also give you an extra 10% off Galaxy watches if you buy a phone or tablet in the same transaction.

  • do these work well with iphones

    • +1

probably but limited. even the google fit has less feature when using the watch so i need to install samsung health too (mine is samsung phone)

    • +1

      No, get an apple watch.

      • Or a galaxy watch 3

    • the new galaxy watch running google wear os 3 (watch 4, 5) is not compatible with ios (as for now)

    • The 5 one does not, I have tried my self

Good price for a good smart watch!

  • Trying to work out which CB place to go through. CR - no CB for smart watches; SB = 1.4%; Topcashback = 6% for "watches" but doesn't have anything specific about smart watches. Have sent a support ticket after looking through FAQ etc. @TopCashback AU Rep ?

    • I missed out on getting this watch but heard back from Topcashback - yes smart watches do fall under the "watches" category with them so would have been around $17ish CB. Must remember that next time there is another smart watch deal.

  • How's the battery life?

    • Crapolla. Daily charging

      • Not sure what did you do with this watch got get daily charge? Always on display? Try disable touch to wake since if you wear long sleeve it always activate the watch.. I have the 40mm always go home from work with 80% battery left.

        • Sure, if you disable features and don't utilise it fully then it'll last longer. If not, daily charging. Even if you go to bed with 50% remaining you will charge it overnight so you don't wake up with 35%.

          • @[Deactivated]: not sure why you got downvoted its true we rather charge it overnight so the next day you are not worry it will go bust…
yeah if working in the office you can take it out few mins but some not so lucky and need to be always on the move. we need 100% from the start just in case.

@CyberMurning: Some people can't handle the truth ;)

That's a good price. I just bought a GW4 LTE for $200 a few weeks ago, but this would be a better deal IMO. Getting LTE and mobile data on my Apple watch was ok, but I'm struggling to find a good use for it in the android ecosystem, I wouldn't bother if I had to buy again.

  • +1

I can't believe I'm still rocking my active watch 2! Has no issues and lasts me two days. Maybe I'll upgrade soon

  • Potential dumb question - Would this work with Apple iPhone ? I have iPhone 12 Mini.

    • No get an apple watch

    • -5

      duh read above

i regret not pulling the trigger during the secret santa sale…UGHHHH
