      My also.

    Best price so far.

Hmm, why couldn't you do shipping on that Intel 520 SSD last week? I'd have definitely supported a local retailer on that one.

    • +1

Actually glad they didn't, I'd have caved and ended up getting even more SSDs than I need.

HmMmmmm my new G74sx says yummy but my wallet goes "echo"

I'm so tempted to get this, but I reckon I'll stick it out for a Crucial M5 512gb. I've had no bad experiences with them. Plus… 32gb extra.

  • +5

    I am in for $300

My inner OzBargain says buy then slaps me in the face and tells me to wait as the prices are continually falling :O

Any chance of a special on the 256GB Samsung 830?
Would be more than happy to pay $1/GB locally

    • +1

MSY has that for 252. Guessing that would count as local

      • +2

Would rather give my money to a company that looks after their clients and has a web page that is designed by someone over the age of 4
Also, Netplus allows picking up items from a preferred store as opposed to MSY basically saying STFU

        • ARC

        • What are you talking about? You can pick up from MSY from anystore you want, if they have it in stock obviously.

  • +1

Any future specials for the 240GB variant?

  • +1

oh man…. so close to the price point in which I'll cave…. and close to me getting some money too :D

  • +1

What time on 23/08 does this deal expire?

  • +1

ahhh Miracle told me you guys unlikely to get it in anytime soon, so i went to and bought a m4 512gb ><

Yeah, when they clue up like you guys to sell at a decent price :)

GST also contributes the the higher prices in OZ

      • GST is 10%, the prices in Australia are marked up by 50% or so, when comparing American RRP vs Australian RRP (comparing full prices here).
Yet it is still cheaper normally as a standard price when an item is mailed over from the US to Australia, after the same item has travelled by freight from China to US (and then US to Aus)
Compared to Australian Stock which is China to Australia, MUCH closer than the US.

Keep negging my post guys, you know I'm right just by looking at how popular all the Crucial M4 deals from Amazon.

Bought with Netplus before, quick delivery from my experience (2 x 4GB ram sticks a while back)

        • It's not just GST.

Aussie prices are also higher because we don't have wage slavery here, and thank good for that!

Sure your SSD might cost an extra $20, but at least you're not paid $5.45 an hour to wait tables or work at Coles or whatever back when you had your first job.

On a global scale the average Australian is very wealth (top 3?) and has much more spending power.

    • dup..

  • On the day my OCZ died, nice timing

    • May I ask which OCZ model you have?

Why is the 480GB slower than the 240GB Sandisk Extreme ?

    Read 540MB/s, Write 460MB/s <- 480GB
    Vs
    Read 550MB/s, Write 520MB/s <- 240GB

    • My understanding is current design of SSD drives mean that 240GB/256GB drives offer the best performance. Not sure of the nuts and bolts, something with the controllers or something.

It seems that a heap of stores have dropped their prices too to match (scorptec, CPL, MSY). Still a fantastic price though!

  • Can I put this in a high speed enclosure, i.e. FW800 or usb3? What are some good enclosures to recommend

  • Hi I am new to OzBargain. Expecting only bargains (in my mind means a reasonable discounted sale price), I found the same product for sale at other retailers for a similar price. I think the free delivery which is usually under $15 is the only thing going for this add.

    PCCasegear.com - $379
    scorptech.com.au - $379
    + delivery

  • Well they delivered my 480gig SSD to some completely random individual who's name does not appear on the order - and now they have no idea what to do, just lots of umm-ing and arrr-ing. I paid insurance so I want the total price back so I can go and get it at Umart; after waiting nearly two weeks for this thing to show up too. This vendor isn't filling me with any confidence whatsoever.
