  New to this game so found this news article helpful on how to use this code. Relevant excerpt below:

  In the main menu on either game version, players will find the "Mystery Gift" option from "Poke Portal," which is the last option that appears on the screen. After that, players will able to enter the Mystery Gift code in the section marked "get with code/password," as well as any other codes that have yet to expire. Each code can only be used once, and if the player hasn't already redeemed the code, the Mystery Gift will appear.

    My menu only has Bag, Options and Save. No Mystery Gift option. I'm playing from cart.
    EDIT: I need to reach first Pokémon Center in Los Platos.
