      Wrong.

      Exceptions:

The original deal is active but older than 6 months.

      • -1

        It's listed as long running

        • +1

So's every single one of these deals.

          • -2

            @HamBoi69: It says

These exceptions do not apply to long running deals where the referral system is the offer.

            • +4

              @Scrooge McDeal:

where the referral system is the offer.

              🤣🤣

              • @HamBoi69: I was with the impression we can not post long running deals.
Looks like I am wrong. We learn something every day.

  • +3

    Interesting!
Had this via BoM Worldwide Wallet card too:
    https://flightdelaypass.mastercard.com/

Recently got a pass sent to me
    - Flight was delayed perhaps 1 hour (so obviously did not have enough time to use it there and then)
    - The email you receive says it is only eligible at the lounge at the airport where you are experiencing the delay
    - Although, the PDF voucher says it can be used at eligible LoungeKey lounges.
    - Had about 3 months validity to use the pass

    • +1

So technically you can stock pile these given that they have 3 months validity and being able to use it at other airport is questionable.

      • +10

Possibly! I'd probably be more worried about why all my flights are delayed than being content with having a bunch of lounge vouchers ;P

      • Can confirm you can use later and at another airport with a LoungeKey lounge, got to use an older pass when stuck with a massive delay due to the crowdstrike thing a couple of days ago, and seemingly the airport delay data were also caught up in the problems.

  • -1

Do you only have access to Airport lounges if the flights are delayed?

    • +1

      Correct.

  • +3

Decided againt applying. As every flight I will be hoping for a delay :) Can't deal with that stress and subsequent disappointment when flights run on time…

    • +15

Fly Jetstar, then it's a win-win for you either way…

      • +1

I thought of this joke..but it had jv written all over it, so i let it be.. :)

    • its like deciding against car insurance because every time u drive u might be jinxing it to get into an accident -__-

  • +6

Good deal for those flying Jetstar !!!

    • +3

Can confirm. Flew Jetstar out of Osaka and used the lounge.

      • +3

If your flight is delayed by 2-3 days, can you just stay at the lounge?

        • +2

Our flight to Osaka was delayed by 6 months
          (airport was underwater)

          • @muncan:

            delayed by 6 months

That's a lot of free food.

    • +1

Just make sure delay not cancel

  • +14

Just a 'PSA' - I signed up to the 28 degrees card to take advantage of some of these OzB deals. My data was compromised in their recent hack (DYOR) and someone in Chile is using my card for a crunchyroll subscription. $350 in red right now, the customer service line for the hack (Latitudes number) has been down for about 2 weeks now, and its just a waiting game. I am also unable to close the account via the online portal since 'I' (someone in Chile) has late fees stacking up.

I also called before the line went down, and as soon as I confirmed my details with the rep I said I was hacked and I wanted to close the account they said the line was breaking up and they couldn't hear me (not even joking, reps are obvioulsy KPI'd on this stuff I guess)

0/10 would never sign up to this again if given the chance

    • +7

You should be able to just block the card in the app/online until you get the issue resolved.

      • thankyou - I didnt see this. There is an option to report lost/stolen (which is, of course, locked and cant be done) - but I am able to temporarily block. Cheers

        • +1

          Glad to help :-)

    • +2

I am having an exactly the same experience at he moment. I even asked the guy to talk to someone else then he just hanged up the phone, very disappointed:)

    • Me three. Apparently its not a crunchyroll membership its just a name they use. I am down $94 x2 and blocked my card on 19th of May and disputed the transaction on chat. Got the dispute number and they said they are working on it, but haven't heard back. Was going to jump on the phone and call but won't do it based on what you said, just kill the card and wait until they revert the disputed transaction, pay the card out and close the account. I actually closed the account once and it took like 2 hours on the phone to get through to someone to close it, and shouldn't have re-opened it (but tempted by these deals). Never again. The customer service is non-existent if anything goes pear shaped.

      • Oh wow, source on the crunchyroll part? thats interesting. Exactly the same charge as you except $94x3

I did the fraud transaction report and stated Im formally requesting to close the account as soon as possible but have no way to contact. Complete shitshow

Did you file here also? https://www.latitudedatabreach.com.au

        • I googled it https://choice.community/t/scam-cc-charges-using-the-name-cr… didny think a scammer will pay money for a subscription service lol. No I didn't file the data breach I got the info but was like what's the point.
Actually had a complete freak out when I logged into my account and it said I couldnt do schedule payments or bpay until my new card arrived ofc it hasnt even though it's been more than 10 days as I reported on the 19th of may which was when they cancelled my card when I disputed. I thought it meant I couldn't pay the card off… Then I realised it meant I couldn't use the card to pay for things duhhhh

          • @Faithgrrl: Actually today is suppose to be the day rhe money comes out to pay the card and it hasn't happened. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means… When I suspend the card my schedule direct debit for the card balance is suspended. I will check again tomorrow and if there is no money coming out I am gonna have to call them. Dammit

        • Agreed they are a complete offshore shitshow. At least I have no transaction since 15 may. Its my fault sort of… I should have caught it the first time which was April 2023. I just use the card so little I just let the payments go. Someone suspend my ozbargain card for not checking my credit card statement.

    • +1

      report this to the AFCA

      • Good idea will do if I can't get them to pick up the phone tomorrow or pay off my card somehow

    • +1

Could happen to any company, Ahm, Optus etc.
MasterCard and Visa automatically Cover fraud protection.. just block card in the app and call them, could get a new card sent out easily.

It's just the whole call centre part of finance and mobile companies that is annoying. Better log into mine for a look but wasn't affected.

  • So no need to buy tickets with the card?

    • +4

Apparently not… I registered flights bought with another card.

      • Great

        • I did the same. Bought tickets with another card and was able to register this.

  • Makes it a good reason to fly Jetstar

  • Thanks for the reminder! I got an email about this too but when I enter my card # i get this error msg "Please check that you have entered an eligible Mastercard card number."
    how odd

    • I had this over different days. I ended up emailing them and they said they had been having some website issues. They asked me to email them the flight details and they registered a couple of flights for me. Was super quick and easy.

      • Thanks, I've emailed now.

        • I had the same issue, guy on livechat told me to enter my account number instead and it worked!

          • +1

@crazynic: Email reply told me to try the same thing, haven't done it yet but good to hear that it might work

  • +2

Rather the Westpac card without the credit check.

  • Can subsidiary card holder use this offer without the main holder travelling together?

  • +4

I’d avoid due to their track record of keeping consumer data secure.

    • +5

You can add most companies to this list. It's just a matter of time. Just wait until your mygov and tax data are hacked.

      • +4

Disagree. Companies like westpac, CBA, ANZ etc have invested way more into your data's security and face more scrutiny from regulators than these smaller financial institutions

Lumping then all together is just giving a get out of jail free card to Latitude, and tbh the real concern is how poorly their customer service has managed this scenario. Shows they have a terrible or non existant incident response plan

      • That's a terribly defeatist attitude, and if everyone thought that way companies would have no incentive to provide proper customer service at all.

Nobody can say that every company in every profuct category has been or will be hacked, that is nonsense.

        • -2

It is nonsense indeed. But I think eventually mygov most certainly will be hacked. It's a wealth of data. ANZ, CBA will be peanuts. wait and see.

Feel free to boycott companies when they get hacked though. I just think it will not be practical anymore.

I for one will be going for deals regardless and lean in when it helps my cause. I don't have control over how other companies handle my data.

No point, the plane is delayed when on tarmac by the time, we cant be anywhere except in plane, they are wise now.

    • So will benefit the people getting the next flight that is delayed :)

  • +1

Does 28° have a signup bonus?

    • +1

      no and never has been.

  • +1

    Jetstar will send them broke

  • Can this delay pass be registered by my supplementary card holder if they travel by themselves (without me travelling together)?

    • Yes. Use the supplementary card number.

  • +1

Thanks op - have set a location based reminder for when I go to the airport

  • Would I be able to use a different loungekey lounge location if I don't have time for my original destination?

  • +1

Thanks OP, just signed up and registered my upcoming Jetstar flight out of Melbourne. Checking the LoungeKey Finder, it lists Rex and Quikshots in Melbourne T4 - recommendations?

  • I wonder if it works with standby tickets.

  • This was fantastic in the US. Took way too long to get the email but we had hours of free booze in a Cleveland lounge and it was rad.

    Worth doing. Good deal.

    • Was the email sent 2 hours after scheduled departure?

      • Yeah, I ended up calling them to try and get it sorted out once we realised it was going to be two hours but they were dicks and made us wait. But sure enough, about ten mins after the 2 hour mark we got the email.

        • Ah well free lounge is a free lounge, I was hoping if the flight was announced delayed for more than 2 hours they would just send the passes

          • +1

@Playboi Carti: Yep. Same. It felt like it wasn't going to happen but then it did and it was awesome!
