  • delivery is $5.95 so its actually $64.95

    • Must depend on location. I’ve got Grafton, NSW saved and shipping is $5.99. I am in NZ though so that might be doing something.

  • For use on pc only, would you go:

    this
    or the
8bitdo bluetooth ultimate for ~$100 delivered?

Wired or wireless doesn't matter to me and it's for steam and emulated games.

Whichever joystick layout you prefer best.

https://dualsensex.com drivers if you go DualSense.

      • ohhh didnt know that… so do people still use DS4Windows or do they use DS5Windows these days?

        • ds4windows is still going strong, and has nearly full functionality ds5 support. majority of functions for ds5 work, and the app is still actively being developed.

        Suss URL…

      • I had a look at that software. did you go for the free one or the paid one. I see a V3 mentioned on steam but I dont know if its the same one

        • Try the free version and see how it works for you. If happy, it's worth paying for the full version to unlock adaptive triggers and tons more features (and support devs to keep improving).

I believe there's another open source free one but it doesn't work wireless and doesn't have near as many features (at least back then).

Isnt steam support PS5 controller? Why do you need to use D5Windows?

I stop using DS4 since steam support PS4 controller back then.
Need to fiddling with DS4 since sometimes its connected sometimes not and other issue, so not a big fan but never have issue with Steam PS4 controller.

        • Some games are still wonky with ps5 controller support, and not every game is ran through steam. I still use ds4windows on like 1 out of every 5 games i try

          • @Sporange: For the game that not run through Steam (Epic, Genshin Impact, EA), I just add that using non-Steam game method. works well so far with PS4 controller.

I use a Dualsense on PC and haptic feedback is amazing in games when supported (need to play wired): https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Controller:DualSense#Games…

Definitely worth it if you like the controller layout/ergonomics - better build quality than the 8bitdo from what I've read (I was also tempted by the do, mostly for it's hall effect joysticks). The Dualsense also has the fastest polling rate/input lag (when adjusted via DS4windows) of the current controller generation as far as I know.

      • I got both and prefer the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro+ because it is slightly slimmer. I prefer the size of DS4 controllers than DS5 though. So maybe those who prefer larger controllers like Xbox etc will prefer DS5.

      • I haven't tried a 8bitdo but the haptics and adaptive triggers on Dualsense are great when a game supports them (I don't mind playing wired).

PS1 is the only console I've owned after the NES era. So I am a little biassed to the layout too.

Thanks I went with the Dualsense because of those things you mentioned and it reminded me it has trackpads which might be useful in emulating the mouse. I was drawn to the 8bitdo's hall effect joysticks too cause it sounds like it will last a long time and probably has smaller dead zones but the dual sense will be the one for now.

  • Anyone know if JB price batches mighty ape?

    • They do including the delivery fee. But it’s $69 at JB already.

      • I'm wanting sf6 and diablo

        • Got myself a copy of sf6 from mighty ape. From their website, it looks to be coming from NZ

  • Getting code now found when entering the coupon ARMAGEDDON23

    • Just did a test order. Code still working for me.

    • If the code is "now found", that can only be a good thing!

  • I would stick with a local retailer or amazon to buy these controllers. I have to claim 2 already under warranty. A white one and a black one. The white one had drift problems and the black one had problems with the directional buttons.

  • Just had Jb HiFi agree but not agree :/ to price match as mighty ape considered grey imports - got two for $129.95

  • Why these and not a pair of those at AliEx for less than half price?
(Honest question; I'm not a gamer — just want something cheap and cheery to play with the kiddo)

    • The ones you have linked are Nintendo switch style controllers that only work on the consoles listed. No ps5 support. Also the ps5 has a lot more features than the AliExpress ones. Haptic feedback, touch pad, microphone and speaker built in.
Make sure whatever controller you choose can be used on the console you have.

      • I'm gonna use it with a Firestick; this guy said I can "easy pair any game controller" to it. No?

        • I have neither this exact controller or a fire stick, so I cannot say for certain either way. They should work together fine from the information provided.. I have small concerns though as the list of compatible devices is very limited to what it can connect to via Bluetooth. Most things need a fixed wire USB connection for them to work. It does state android devices (tv, phones, tablets) can connect via Bluetooth. What I have read shows firestick runs on android so going by that, it should be able to pair them together.
Again, I do not own either device and cannot be 100% certain that it will.work.
