Appreciate you pointing that out. Edited now.
Got one. I hardly clean my car. This will be my first step
This is the second step.
Your second step should be to return it and use something good. This crap leaves your car oily and disgusting. Get rid of it.
I'm standing by to hear what the third step is
Stomping deal, annoying I spent $100 on SCA branded stuff yesterday lol.

here is a better link, heaps of stuff on discount.
Much better link! Thank you
Nah not really, Armour All is utter trash. Wouldn't use it even if I got it for free.
Depends on what you want it for, for me, I have a work car I like to keep in reasonable condition and budget stuff like this more than does the trick, you spend $90k on a car, you’re probably gunna use something better…
Probably eats take away and 2 minute noodles so he can pay for his car preferences.
Nothing like a greasy dash!
Seriously, spend the extra (sometimes not even extra) and get something like 303 or gyeon.
Armour all is bottom tier.
Seconded.
If your only choice is armorall, there is a lowsheen version.
If the only choice is Armor All, I'd rather use nothing.
I drive my car daily, I'll take a UV filter over no UV filter, even if it looks greasy.
It'd just be my last pick, is all.
Agreed….303 Protectant is so much better.
Totally agree - do not use this stuff, it's the absolute worst!!
Your car will look like the cars at dodgy no-name used car yard that are glistening in greasy slime all over the inside.
Use 303 as mentioned above.
This product is junk. You couldn't even pay me to use it.
Agreed. If you're tempted by armour to "clean" your car you're seriously better off just using water and paper - it's cheaper and better than armour all.. This "protectant" rubbish leaves a greasy, oily, shiny horrible finish to every surface it touches.
The product is an embodiment of the user…greasy and oily.
Pretty awful product, anything armour all is awful. Spend the money and get something decent. If you can only buy in store, Bowden's, autoglym, Meguiar's would suffice… Gyeon at Repco is the best pick in my opinion. If you can buy online, shop at Waxit or The Detail Store. Plenty of good products from them.
I think Bowden's are overrated. If you speak to people who use it they act like they are the best brand on Earth and you can't tell them otherwise. It's like some cult. Meguiar's and Autoglym have been better for me, even some newer Turtle Wax products have been good lately.
Yep the list is endless. Coffee snobs, craft beer snobs, car product snobs… There are also enthusiasts who genuinely want the best available for their pride and joy and they spend many, many hours preparing and maintaining their vehicles. There is nothing at all wrong with that. What the best products are is a matter of debate, even among pro detailers. With new products constantly appearing you can be pretty confident that MOST of the better known brands will do a good (enough) job on a newish vehicle with good paint etc. TW Ice hybrid wax works a treat at a good price.
I reckon Bowden's make decent products, definitely a few in their range I wouldn't buy again though. Over priced at full rrp, good enough on a 25% off sale, especially when you buy bulk it's not bad at all. Yeah the big Bowden's fans really defend it, just a car cleaning brand, there's no need to get so defensive. Yeah turtle wax hybrid range is okay, used a couple of things from them in the past.
Good enough
Agree, depends on your application. 303 is better but not worth the extra for many things - including door sills, external plastic parts etc. AA is also excellent for household uses - eg plastic garden pots and storage boxes. Apparently some on this site still haven't learned that you wipe off any excess after letting it soak in.
Everyone is too high class here
Plenty of sheep also, not that I want to denigrate a wonderful animal which underpinned this nation's economy for decades.
If you read comments on various forums you'll find a HUGE range of experiences with different products. Just found this (quite old) one on the protectant debate for example:
"In my industry, we have strict silicone exposure controls. Silicones adhere very strongly to contacts and contamination can prevent solder reflow, rapid 3-d prototypers and other critical machines to fail. That said, silicone is a terrible thing to put on plastics. It does absolutely nothing beneficial for plastic, and it's not cheap."
Take most comments with a grain of salt, or at least be skeptical about them all, and read widely IF you're that way inclined or concerned.
Never washed a car by myself so far… What is the recommended car wash product from meguiar or bowdens to start with?
Any guidance would be appreciated!
Lookup Ammo NYC on youtube. He is probably one of the best car detailers in the world.
He does videos on the basics which will point you in the right direction. I think Chrisfix also does some good video's on the topic.
Go to Waxits website and look at their wash kits, great value for money!
Friends don’t let friends use Armour All. Seriously this stuff is junk
I wouldn't use this stuff on my lwnmower
That was my use case shot to pieces, thanks a lot!
You haven't seen his lawnmower. Makes $500 Dyson hairdryers look like the bargain of the century.
They're known for the original protectant spray which is pretty horrible stuff to use on interior trim due to the greasy-ness that everyone else has described but their other car cleaning products are perfectly fine for the price.
Perfect for making even more glare on the windscreen.
Dashboards don't require anything as the polymer is already UV stabilised.
A simple wipe over with a wet chamois will do.
Even UV stabilised plastics will discolour and sometimes dry out. They certainly release potentially toxic fumes. My dash is covered by a mat and it gets an occasional wipe over with 303. The problem with the Original Protectant is that it can make surfaces slippery for a few days depending on how you apply it.
You're correct in saying that plastics will discolour over time (I work with plastics and perform accelerated weathering).
But I'm yet to see a car that's 10 to 15 years old with a cracked or crazed dashboard.
Most people don't hang on to a car that long these days.
Putting these sprays only adds to the release of further toxic fumes (I'm not too fond of the fake odourants people hang off their mirrors too)
Agree, cracked dashboards are very rare these days, AND adding chemicals of pretty much any type in the cabin will only add to fume issues. Fumes are pretty easily dispersed though. Discoloured plastic and rubber on the outside is a common thing for cars which aren't regularly garaged ime. Cosmetically if nothing else you can give them some life with these protectants.
@Igaf: Yes, I'd use it as tyre shine and on black components outside.
Title is misleading. Meguiar's and Armor All are different companies.
Pretty sure Big W do not stock Meguiar's products.
