I went through two of these (both faulty) over the course of a month - the first was faulty out of the box. The second developed suspension problems and the accelerator and brake sticks kept getting stuck in the on position. The battery life was also all over the place for me, and the charging brick was especially hot when under load. I ultimately got my money back from JB and bought a different scooter.
For ~$1000 they offer a lot of value - great performance, suspension, etc, but they don't seem to be very reliable.
    YMMV

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems many electric scooters have problems
      What scooter did you buy?

I ended up just going back to the bigger name brands of Segway and Xiaomi. I purchased a Segway Ninebox Max G30 (I previously owned a Ninebot Max G30L for 14 months and it was very reliable). The Ninebot Max is all round great but I really wanted a slightly more powerful motor and suspension. (Which is why I originally purchased the Daxys).

I've currently ordered a Xiaomi Ultra 4 (with the dual suspension) for $1199. I'm hoping it lives up to the Xiaomi name and provides the extra power I've been chasing. If this ends up being a good scooter I'll sell my Max.

        • Hi, where did you purchase the Ultra 4?

        • yes, i'm looking to upgrade too, my current one has no suspension and hopefully the addition of suspension will improve the gearing.

On the Navee S65 the motor is geared which is super loud, but i'm not too sure if the one on the Ultra is geared as well.

          • @dukeGR4: If you watch this video at 10:24, you can hear the motor. It doesn't sounds like the geard S65 to me. https://youtu.be/F_iLHY0YDUg?t=622

Several other videos and comments seem to show the same - the Xiaomi motor appears to be a normal brushless type motor which is quiet.

I'd personally go for a reliable commuter model (Segway, Xiaomi) over these lower-end "performance" scooters. I'm happy to let someone else do the durability testing on that funny spindly front suspension.

those "reliable" commuter tend to have very low range, low power and most importantly no suspension. I'd say circa 1k, you are getting a lot for your money…

      • Similar power and range specs to this actually. Suspension absolutely isn't needed unless you're offroad regularly

        • -1

better weight distribution when braking and accelerating necessitates having suspension. you can't go off-road with this kind of lever-style suspension anyway…

The way i see it, if it has similar power and range specs, why not just get the one with suspension?

          • @dukeGR4: Tell me you've never been on an electric scooter without telling me you've never been on an electric scooter

            • -1

@jugsy: save the sarcasm, answer the question and don't switch the topic - why would you ever get one without suspension when you could get sth that has similar power + range specs AND suspension for more or less the same price. your logic doesn't even make sense.

I ride the XiaoMi Scooter 3, under heavy load that shit will seriously start sliding. If you demand too much out of it, ie. taking a corner a bit too quickly and then apply brakes, it will also start to slide because you're upsetting the chassis. It doesn't help how the wheels are extremely rounded. The only way to mitigate this is with a proper suspension to distribute the load evenly.

Now, my scooter is fairly light, the ones you mentioned with extra range i believe those are even heavier. you would feel the effect of not having suspension more than me if you ride them on the daily. When i first got it it was the perfect e-scooter for me but after using it for several hundred kms the flaws start to show up.
