They should all work but gotta check the width. This one is good at 30cm. The other Inkbird model I have takes up to about 22cm.
Thanks hen dawg, thought so.
I tried the 12pk roll bulk packs from kogan. Were rubbish. Thats my input. 4x4supacentre seem better quality
Too thin or something?
Some of the crap ones just don't seal properly/constantly worth finding some quality bags
The last ones I bought from Aldi are pretty good.
@R4: Yeah nice I meant to say some of the cheaper one don't seal properly *
I found some good cheap pre cut bags on eBay too
The Kmart ones go good. I've done a few multi-day sous vide cooks with them which is as good a test as any IMO.
Can you use reusable vacuum bags with this?
It has the air pump hose so supposedly yes
Awesome. Do you know what type of I’m reusable bags it’s compatible with? I tried Googling but I’m not sure.
Not sure if you are joking but if you are not, beware of the type of plastic because food grade type is normally free of bpa but others are not.
I have this unit and these bags work great https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09NRT9RYT/ref=ppx_yo_d…
Highly recommended as well
These bags are exactly the same with Aldi one which is selling cheaper, and always on clearance. Buy it from Aldi when you see it.
Have you put dehydrated food in them? The sharp edges seem to cut my shitty current bags and unvacuum it.
Thanks and they appear to be on special now
Does moist mode do all that it promises to do??
Asking for a friend
Oos
What? This is a superb deal. Bought it when it was 90+$. Feel like I should buy it again at this price. Must restrain myself lol
Good to have a spare in case the original breaks down at the start of The Zombie Apocalypse.
@Chazzozz
start of The Zombie Apocalypse.
Huh? Thought that was all over when The Walking Dead series (thankfully) ended and put us out of misery. Oh hang on, there's still Fear The Walking Dead innit? 😱
Gave up on TWD ages ago… wasn't as into it after around season 8ish. Been watching 'From' on Stan and it's sorta filling the void
@Luigy: From isn't so bad if you can overlook the (mostly) annoying characters and inane useless drama at times. The great characters are mainly the mysterious monsters really. I really love it when they are on screen.
Cheers got one

Anyone try the canister mode?
Juuuuuust missed out :(
Kinda thankful it sold out before I could panic subscribe to eBay plus
How's this compared to the Aldi vacuum sealer?
From experience I bought one of aldi model ages ago and wasn't very good, it overheated the seal causing the plastic to deform. That was using their own brand bag. Have the foodsaver one for a couple of years and it's doing its job well. But like any of these machine you gotta watch out for liquid, I'm on the lookout for chamber vacuum on the cheap but it hasn't come up yet (and space is the issue too).
I have been using aldi one for over a year it's been great. Only issue is if you doing big batch it can only handle up to like 10 before eyou have to let cool down
I've had an Aldi Kuchef sealer for 7+ years (quick Google search suggests June 2015?), can't even remember how long I've had it. Use is at least weekly for sous vide. I can't remember last time I had a bag fail during a cook, or even fail when sealing.
As opposed to the FoodSaver I had before that, which constantly failed when sealing - I'd say it had a 33% fail rate on sealing properly. Limped along with it until I randomly saw the Aldi one for $79 and copped.
Ditto - great product and works fine after so many years. I use standard Aldi roll and do 2 seals just to be safe but never had an issue.
Anyone know what canisters it will work with
OoS
Dam Oos, the one I got from kmart doesnt have air hose.
This one any good? Very cheap $22.85 with 10 bags

There is such a huge variety on offer. Can anyone list a criteria what to look for?
NVM. Here is what chat gpt saysWhen considering buying a food vacuum sealer, there are several criteria you should keep in mind to ensure you select the right one for your needs. Here are some important factors to consider:
Sealing Method: Vacuum sealers typically employ either handheld or countertop models. Handheld models are smaller, portable, and are suitable for occasional use. Countertop models are larger, more powerful, and are ideal for frequent or heavy-duty sealing.
Sealing Strength: Look for a vacuum sealer that provides strong and reliable seals. The sealing strength determines how well the bag is sealed and how long the food will remain fresh. A good vacuum sealer should be capable of creating an airtight seal to prevent air and moisture from entering the bag.
Suction Power: The suction power of the vacuum sealer is crucial for removing air from the bags effectively. Higher suction power ensures a better vacuum seal. It is especially important if you plan to seal items with a lot of air, such as bulky cuts of meat or liquids.
Bag Compatibility: Check if the vacuum sealer is compatible with various bag types and sizes. Some models work only with specific proprietary bags, while others are compatible with a wider range of bags, including generic or custom-sized ones. Ensure that the bags are easily accessible and not overly expensive.
Controls and Operation: Look for a vacuum sealer that is user-friendly and has intuitive controls. It should have clear buttons or a digital display for easy operation. Features like automatic sealing and sealing-only options can also be convenient.
Maintenance and Cleaning: Consider the ease of cleaning and maintenance. Look for models with removable drip trays or chambers that can be easily cleaned. Some vacuum sealers also have dishwasher-safe parts, which can simplify the cleaning process.
Durability and Build Quality: Ensure that the vacuum sealer is built to last. Look for models made from high-quality materials that can withstand regular use. Read customer reviews and ratings to gauge the reliability and durability of the product.
Additional Features: Some vacuum sealers come with extra features like built-in bag cutters, roll storage, adjustable sealing settings, and compatibility with accessories such as canisters or bottle stoppers. Assess your specific needs and preferences to determine which additional features are important to you.
Price and Warranty: Consider your budget and compare the prices of different models. While it's important to find a vacuum sealer that offers good value for money, avoid compromising quality for a lower price. Additionally, check the warranty provided by the manufacturer to ensure you are covered in case of any defects or issues.
By considering these criteria, you can make an informed decision and choose a food vacuum sealer that meets your requirements and helps you preserve food efficiently.
Makes sense. I bought one last week.
Good deal
Good deal, can you use any brand seal bags in it? I would assume as long as they fit it would be fine.
Any recommendations on which bags to buy?
