  • A few comments on this thread suggest that we can receive SMS overseas with Amaysim, however it didn’t work for me. Was there something we had to activate on the Amaysim app? I always thought we had to purchase the international roaming package to be able to receive SMS.

Turn on roaming on your phone.

      • Thanks! Will give it a try

  • If we order sim plan like this, how to activate as 365 days PAYG plan? Does it give you the option when activate?

    Thanks

If you buy directly from amaysim then the SIM pack is tied to the 28 day plan, and may already be activated if you pick a new number.

You need buy SIM packs from the supermarkets to be able to pick a plan such as PAYG. The $30 and $35 packs go on sale from time to time, eg. the $35 pack is on sale for $12 at Woolworths, may end today or next Tuesday.

        Ah noted, thanks heaps

  • Anyone know if calls over wifi are free on the PAYG plan?

Edit: According to chat calls and text over wifi are free

    • I would take what chat says with a grain of salt

      wifi-calling
By leveraging Wi-Fi networks, amaysim users can make calls without consuming their cellular data or incurring additional costs. With amaysim, you can enjoy crystal-clear calls and stay connected wherever there is a Wi-Fi network available.

Pretty sure general call costs will still exist

      • Pretty sure general call costs will still exist

Yeah I'm not convinced but would like to know one way or another

        • Best way to know is to test it yourself.

          Check your current balance.

Make a wifi call for 45 seconds.

          Check your balance again.

If it is indeed free then no change to balance. If it costs it should align with

12c/min standard calls to mobile & landlines

Make sure you test it on flight mode (with wifi on) so you're not using any data which can also lower balance.

          • @CodeXD: currently on the 12mnth/60GB plan until July

I'd be happy to switch plans to test but be good to know before I'm in a position to switch in July
