Nice find, it's a monster of a watch. Gives a lot of my G-Shocks a run for their money in terms of size.

    • -2

Nah, this is a pretty standard size when it comes to G-Shock dimensions actually.

The GX56BB-1D makes this Seiko look reasonable.

Great price, but I already have the 3. This one on sale pls: https://starbuy.com.au/seiko-prospex-arnie-mens-watch-snj033…

Great watch, bought this last time Starbuy had it on sale!

  • Where do they come up with these silly names?

    • +2

Arnie is the unofficial name given to these series of watch models due to Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing it in the movie Predator.

    • +1

Arnie wore a variation of this watch in Predator and also Commando. So this model has been nicknamed the "Arnie". Here is some light reading for the uneducated

      • now i just need a deal on cigars, and pack on a crapload of muscle :)

        • +1

I have the cigars, but haven't been to the gym in 8 months because cervical radiculopathy and shoulder bursitis. But the pain meds are cool

    • +1

Both the Seiko Willard and Hamilton Murph are named after movie characters that wore particular watches. I'm sure there's a lot more.

  • +1

I really like the look of mine!

    • +1

I think it looks good on you too

    • Giz a flash.

  • Will this make it to WA by the 2nd of June if I order today? Flying out for a month Saturday.

    • If you order by like 2pm today, it may be sent out by Friday, in that case I'ma guess yes for free express deli. It should get to you by Wednesday at the latest?

Could always PM Deepak and see if he can take some extra special care with your package.

  • So Tempted.

I'll wait till my $80 Marlin dies before i get a new beater.

    • +3

Your idea of a beater is a bit different to mine.

Here are some Casio beaters I found on special -

Casio Digital Grey W218HC-2A, resin lens - $33.00 @ Amazon AU
Casio Digital Pink W218HC-4A, resin lens - $27.00 @ Amazon AU

Your idea of a beater is a bit different to mine.(files.ozbargain.com.au)

Mmmm, the OG beater can't be beat.

Looks pretty good for a SKMEI.

  • +2

That's huge (Diameter - 47.8mm) for a wrist watch. Does it come with a wall hook?? lol

  • Looks dark green or is it actually black ?

    • How did you see the dress? Gold or blue?

  • Strange the put the LCD on top, looks upside down at a glance.

    • That's why I prefer the snj033p that rosebank linked to above.

  • +2

Waiting for the SNJ025 to go on sale.

I really liked mine Arnie, until crown came undone and unit got flooded. I would not recommend this watch

    • I'm a bit confused, when did the screw down crown come undone, before or during the time it got flooded?

      • +1

Exactly, they don't come undone by themselves.
The crown on the tuna is pretty secure/tight and should always check it is screwed in enough before you hit the water.

        • I wouldnt be so sure about that trooper. I did check the screw before hitting the water. Crown came undone during a rather extreme and intensive marine activity, I was wearing gloves too, which probs rubbed on the crown. Also first arnie i receieved, had a warranty issue with the screw crown. threads are pretty poorly made i noted, probs because it is china made version

          • @HungryRussian: Beg your pardon pal - wasn't sure if you were a noob or not.

I suppose it can always happen. Can't help if it rubs against something as there is no crown guard like proper dive watches. I don't have an Arnie but based it on the normal Tunas - mine seems tight and couldn't imagine bumping it loose. You shouldn't have to overtight any crown either, as it can squash the o-ring on some watches.

Guess hit up for warranty if it's faulty.

  • +2

    Can't decide. Fugu? Or Arnie's too-na?

    … Or skmei

    • -1

      All in on the SKMEI
