I bought the MSI GS66 Stealth RTX 2070 Super MaxQ model in December 2020 for $2700 on special from Centrecom, it was easily the worst laptop I've ever owned, the screen hinges started clicking when you'd open the lid within the first three months, terrible battery life despite having a 99wh battery, overheating issues, the front bezel that ran along the front of the palmrest starting chipping off on the corners, I'd never buy another MSI laptop again
All the reviews I've looked at have mentioned that the build quality is solid.
This feels a little pricey still.
Tough sell
You can just smell a $2K+ Legion deal is about to drop and blow this away
lol.
Only legion laptop that compares to this would be the slim 7i which isn't even available in AUS yet and I'm expecting it to be close to $4000 for similar specs.
Good price, was looking at this and new gigabyte Aero 16, aero is 4k and comes in i9 but obviously near $5000, a couple more thunderbolt too I guess
There's no way any of these gamer brand laptops have solid build quality, 3k is a lot of money to drop on cheap thrills with a 1 year warranty
2 year warranty. Not sure how you're gonna game on non game laptops but you do you.
I mean build quality, brands like HP, Dell and Lenovo will be miles ahead in gaming laptop quality compared to Gigabyte, Msi, Asus.
Might just be me, but had an MSi laptop keyboard go bad about 20 months in. I was happy to just purchase it and have it done after. They didn't have any at all and couldn't/wouldn't help me. Even the sh*t ones on Ebay weren't right (FN keys). And no, wasn't going to hope I could remap, etc.
Very disappointing from MSi.
FYI
First time i see MSI laptops at $3000. How reliable are they? Specs look pretty good though.
