Cheers Neil. Room (hopefully) sorted for Blink182

    • Take your walking frame. But of 40 year olds moshing to Blink182 sounds sweaty and creaky.

  • +3

    Price changed at checkout

  • +7

At checkout by booking went from $240 to $5500.

  • +1

  • LOL, at checkout it jumps to 644

    • +3

I take it back, it's very dependent on the dates. If you get to one of the booking confirmation screens to change dates it displays the price. I've booked a $20 room

  • -4

Anything we can do get them to honour it?

    • Srsly?

    • Honour. I see what you did there.

    • 😰🔫

My booking for 6 nights in March went through just fine - price of $20 a night confirmed in the booking email too. Might get cancelled, but definitely worked in this instance.

    • +2

My booking went though for $40 (2 nights). Confirmation email received.
Tried to book again for another weekend and it didn't go through. Refreshed and the price updated.
Received an email saying there was a booking delay and I could retry at the same price. Went through for $40

  • +25

Sweet - now I can rent a room for the whole night, instead of by the hour!

    • +2

      This is the way

    • +8

What will you do with the extra 23 hours 58 minutes?

      • +14

        Self service

      • +2

Sublet the room by minute to others.

  • +1

Check Agoda - it shows in USDD with NO indication of this until you get the confirmation email.

  • Rehlat seems to still be working. Looks like the Agoda and Booking.com prices have been fixed.

    • +1

Can only seem to get 22-23 Feb at this price. I'm not flying all the way to Perth for one cheap night! :(

  • +1

Significant pricing error. They definitely won't be honoring this.

    • +2

      They got hard OzBargained though

  • Rats looks like they've fixed it

    • Try Rehlat. It shows on the Google Travel search.

  • 19-20 March the only ones left at $20 now… get in quick

    • Try Rehlat. It shows on the Google Travel search.

      • That shows as Twin rather than Suite?

        • Yeah, should be only $15/night for the twin. :)

  • +5

    ozbargain perth meetup?

    • +6

Yeah, but a cheap bar please

  • Good luck to those that managed to book it!! Great offer!

  • Hmm proceeded to checkout, processed the $20 off my card but bounced back to the hotel page saying it wasn't available

Edit email received from booking.com saying I'll be refunded

    • +1

Lots of sweaty guys, probably 90% and minimal eye candy, ill have to pass

  • +1

I very much doubt the $20 nights will be honoured. So obviously an error rather than a 'deal but good luck to those that have given it a shot.

    • +5

Fingers crossed! Hopefully they'll also honour my special request for a photo of Nicolas Cage to be placed in the room

      • +1

HAHA hopefully they can manage that.
I had my wedding at the Parmelia Hilton so it holds a special place in my heart.

  • +3

Breakfast cost $40 per person. Rooms cost $20 per night lol

    • +1

there should be free breakfast if you choose the Executive King Room.

This room includes access to the Executive Lounge, which includes daily continental breakfast and evening canape service.

    • +3

      Parking $55 lol

  • +16

Seems to me Hilton Perth has graciously offered to host the 2024 OZB meetup.

  • so do you book 2 rooms if you have kids. can't add child in booking.

  • what makes you think they will honor this?

    • +1

occasionally companies do as a good will gesture, even though they will lose money

      • -2

for hotels it's a completely different story.. when you rent out your stuff/room. you don't want cheap guys to come and destroy things they can't afford to pay back..

        • +2

I got a deal one time for a hotel room at a really nice hotel, that was obviously at the wrong rate, for a trip to Phuket years ago. Agoda and the hotel honoured it…I was worried they wouldn't, but they did. Sometimes they will just cancel and write off bad blood with customers, sometimes they bite the bullet and bear it if it was their fault. Always a toss of the dice.

        • +2

Sometimes they have a choice between losing $500 by not having the room occupied. Or losing $250 by letting someone have it for $250.

          • +1

@hotphil: Or, gaining $250 rather than gaining zero for being unoccupied

I don't think they're losing $250 by having it occupied

  • Got 2 nights for $40. Email confirmation.

    • from which site?

      • +1

        Booking.com.
I did it soon as the post appeared. Seems it’s fixed now.

  • +1

Didn't manage to book a room but this is quite a nice hotel. Breakfast is good too - well it used to be anyway.

  • +1

Sweet, perfect for late nights at work.

    • No one in Perth works past 5pm tho

  • +1

Managed to get 2 nights in an Executive King Room (includes breakfast) in Feb for $70. Hopefully it’s not cancelled. Thanks OP, sensational deal

  • +1

Seems to still be available on BluePillow

    Good luck :)

    • Is it only for one night?

      • Yup but looks like its gone now

    • +2

That's using Booking.com's system as well. When you enter details, it says the following:

Oh no! You have just missed it!
Unfortunately the chosen option has just been booked.

We are truly sorry to inform you that there was an error in the rate registered by Parmelia Hilton Perth for your booking number BLAH.
The actual rate is 300 AUD, and not 20 AUD. The accommodation would like to find a middle ground and offer you an alternative rate: 199 AUD per night.
Please consider this offer and let us know if you'd like to keep your reservation.
Looking forward to hearing back from you within the next 24_hours. If you are unable to do so, this reservation will be cancelled for free.
If you have any other questions, we are here for you.

  • The dream has been ruined. One Night In Parmelia not happening ;)

    • We could go halves?

  • And my name isn't Joanne

    Hi Joanne,

    I hope you're doing great!

I am reaching out to let you that the property has unfortunately made an obvious mistake when registering their rates online, impacting your booking. That would mean the price initially set on your reservation is not correct.

I would like to sincerely apologize for the incident. Rest assured that we are by your side and will do anything we can to assist you.

That being said, the property will keep your reservation active, if you agree with the correct rate of $279 AUD per night.

Please consider this option and let us know if you'd like to keep your reservation. Alternatively, let us know if you'd rather cancel this booking for free.

I know this may not be what you might have expected, and I'd understand if you find it inconvenient. Please know that you are a valued customer, and we only wish you the best of experiences.

Looking forward to hearing back from you within the next 24 hours.

Other than that, I wish you and your loved ones an awesome weekend ahead!

If you have any other questions, we are here for you.

    • if you agree with the correct rate of $279 AUD per night.

It's funny my Booking.com message says similar but doesn't mention "per night". Makes it almost read like they're offering me the entire stay I booked for $399, even though obviously they mean nightly. You'd think after the booking error they'd make sure to be very clear haha.

      • +4

Okay just further on from this, I wrote back that I agree to $399 for my 6 night booking thinking they would correct it to $399 per night - but it's come through as $399 total for the entire six night stay. Colour me confused.

        • +1

          A win a win :)

          • @chrisie: Yeh definitely, $66.50 a night for 6 nights still isn't a bad deal at all! Wonder if they'll catch on and fix it again lol
