And $612 for 13700k
if you were buying intel cpu for the sake of gaming, don't ever get non-K i7/i9
With FIVR power delivery and locked SA/VDDQ voltage, you can't even guarantee to get DDR4 3600 running without problem.
u'd get a lot lower gaming performance than getting a 13600k
what is the equivalent AMD CPU?
And if factor in motherboard cost, how much would each cost?13600k stock is about the same to Ryzen 5 7600, you can OC AMD with any B650/X670 though you won't yield as much of a margin compared to Intel., cheapest b650 would be just fine like Gigabyte B650m Ds3h or AsRock B650m HDV,
Though if you do OC 13600k, it will outperform 7600 by quite a margin, but you have to get at least a Z690 mobo. so $462 CPU + $300 ish mobo = $762 ish.
7600 + B650m DS3H in bundle = $549
yes, it is unfair to compare individual price vs bundle, but that's what you can get at this very moment, Intel combo do have at least 10% more performance after OC, and z690 do have better connectivity, so YMMV.
btw you'll spend ~$36 more power bill per year if you have Intel than AMD, based on estimating Intel using 100watt more power(should be slightly less than 100w on average tbh) if you play 3 hours per day for 365 day a year, at electricity price at around $0.33, again, depends on usage, YMMV
Wasn’t it way cheaper even before?
You might be thinking of the 13900KF
Not a bad deal. Usually goes for $499
I'd get one if it ever goes below $400
Hopefully price drops with the rumoured Raptor Lake refresh release
This or 5800x3d for gaming?
i7 13700 is $581
