Micro ATX motherboard in an ATX case kills me 😭

  • +1

Yes. Good spot. Any chance of a micro ATX case?

A ram upgrade option would be nice too!

good value. better if it comes with a gold PSU

Fully modular 850W gold psu is a $59 upgrade option

Imagine if you had access to a web browser

      • +3

haha I was seeing if someone had already did it… and ideally it was amended in the OP… no need to be a smart arse :)

        • +5

I actually think PCPP lists are overrated on here. The parts offered in these builds might work out cheaper than if you were buying them separately, but if you actually WERE building a PC yourself, it’d be highly unlikely you’d actually choose such a combination. You’d pay a little more for a better mobo (which these guys offer in the Tomahawk), buy a proper cooler etc.

          • +5

@The Almighty Dollar: Agreed. I just whipped one up with identical price matched parts (where found) and it was about 2.3k… but tbh, you can get certain better parts for cheaper, and certain parts of better quality like you mentioned.

Not taking into account the delays and customer support issues. hmm.

Couldn’t resist. Chucked in a CPU, motherboard, storage and PSU upgrade for good measure. Should set me up for the next half decade, thanks legends

    • Out of curiosity, which upgrades did you go with?

      • +7

Ryzen 5 7600X, B650 Tomahawk WiFi, 2TB NVMe SSD, 850W Gold Fully Modular PSU. Will slap a 4TB & 2TB HDD in there once I get the rig. Set and forget!

        • +1

Thanks for the reply - I hope it's delivered promply and gives you many years of pc gaming goodness!

        • Just want to add that unless you really don't want to spend a cent more than you need, I'd recommend some large-volume SSDs instead of HDDs. (If you already own them and are simply bringing them to the new rig that makes sense!). I can't think of any workload or usage type where buying a HDD is valid

          • +2

@Jengel: Yeah already got em, might as well use them. They’re just for storing movies and TV shows, nothing fancy. Might throw some more SSDs in there down the line just for gaming, they’re so cheap these days that I might as well

    • Probably more than 5 years

  • What’s the Intel and NVIDIA equivalent for the AMD CPU and Video Card?

    • closest comparisons would be around 12400/12600k/13600 and a 4070ti

Buyers beware. Spent $2k on these guys back in early March and still have not received my order. Numerous emails and so far only 1 response to say they are investigating, which was over a week ago.
Would not take the risk with these guys.

    • +2

Saw a post on Reddit with something similar, apparently the explanation was they've moved warehouses recently. Absolutely no excuse for poor communication obviously, but does seem likely that now that are settled in the new place things will improve on the turnaround of orders.

Anecdotally, I ordered a couple of the cheap Gen 4 SSDs they were selling recently, shipped the next day

Here is the PC Part Picker list - with a couple of parts close and with non-available prices substituted with the BPC Price. Note - BPC have listed the Sapphire RX 7900 XT at $1099 but it is OOS. They must have a deal with AMD.

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor ($392.86 @ Amazon Australia)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M DS3H Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard ($203.00 @ MSY Technology)
    Memory: ADATA XPG LANCER 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5200 CL38 Memory ($209.00 @ MSY Technology)
    Storage: Lexar NM760 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($79.00)
Video Card: Sapphire 21323-01-20G Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB Video Card ($1299.00 @ MSY Technology)
Case: NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case ($159.00)
Power Supply: FSP Group Everest 85PLUS 800 800 W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.00)
    Total: $2440.86

The question is should I pull the trigger or HODL?

    • +1

Pull it - I slowly accumulated parts for my build during February and was contemplating waiting longer at the time (glad i did not) - If you follow the PCPP charts, you will notice many of the parts in this build stabilised in price around feb-march and haven't really dropped since.

    • +1

Was also after similar and decided to buy. I think the GPUs may have 5-10 (max 15%) more wiggle room, but seems BPC is getting 7900xt for $1099 (probs cheaper at $999 given they're selling it for $1099 retail or were). I upgraded the PSU and MB and think $2107 is a great deal. Been after a new PC since December 2022

    • How much is shipping though?

  • Just bought cheers OP. I think best value comes from upgrading to the fully gold modular PSU, and the b650m riptime wifi if you require wifi (which I did). $2,107 is a pretty good price for the parts. Same parts were $2,458 on PCPartPicker.

A Saving of about $350 not including the labour/time taken to build the PC + 2 years return to base warranty. Not a bad deal.

Shipping issues wouldn't be a problem for me as I am local and can pick it up. Sweet!

  • +1

This is a great price to get into a very good AM5 build - For context, I paid $3k for these specs (but with better RAM, SSD and Motherboard) in ITX form.

For those reading - no need to upgrade to the 7600X - in fact I argue that the 7600 is better (7600x performance with PBO, less power, runs cooler

    • 7600/x with 7900xt will bottleneck on 1440p apparently.. may need to upgrade to 7700x..

      • Maybe it does - I haven't really noticed anything bad and I'm playing in 4k!

  • +1

need a deal like this in sydney

    • Can / will sydney based sellers match this?
      Enigma PC?

  • +6

It's what they are not stating that is the killer. There must be a guaranteed shipping timeframe stipulated in the ad by these cheap build companies otherwise they are having us on. Delays of a month, 2 months or more means they can get the parts cheaper as they drop in price over that time, leaving you without a PC and eroding it's value proposition. They are not being truthful or transparent with the consumer by omitting the shipping timeframe. In reality the ad should say up front "no guarantees on shipping time, could be up to 3 months" and let's then assess what kind of a bargain this really is, which it isn't.

    • +4

Agreed. It has been 2 months and I still haven't been given any indication of when I'll actually receive my order. If I had known, I would pay an extra 20% elsewhere to get something right away and not have to deal with the stress.

  • +1

have to admit everything is pretty nice except the trash RAM and no aftermarket cooler (which doesn't cost anything to "replace" so that's not a bad thing in a sense)

not the best SSD either but SSD's so cheap now who even cares anymore….

Best pre-build list I've seen so far!

  • +1

    Is the stock cooler sufficient?

    • +1

      For a 7600, I'd say yes.
For a 7600x with added power draw, I'd … Also probably say yes, unless your workload is very CPU intensive.

If you're worried about fan noise from the stock cooler, I would argue that you want a specific product not just a general "upgrade" to an AIO liquid cooler

  • Damn woulda seriously considered this, I just got the 4070 build from Nebula which arrived today!
    - Strange they don't have a CPU cooler option, they usually do.
    - NZXT H510 & H511 similar? I hear some mixed reviews from the H510, couldn't find anything on the H511.

    • NZXT H511 Flow Mesh

A pretty big difference imo. I had the H510 before with a 6700xt gaming build - it was good overall but not amazing for airflow. The flow has holes in the front for better airflow. If you YouTube search NZXT Flow or similar, you can find reviews.

      • Yea that's what I did, but all the reviews come out as H510. As you've stated, they all complained about the airflow on the H510.

There's a whole reddit post on the differences:
        https://www.reddit.com/r/NZXT/comments/fakf4j/h511_case/

        • Yeah it's quite weird. I think the exact case BPC tech sells is wholesale only, hence the confusion :/

  • +3

Looks like the CPU that comes with this system qualifies for AMDs free download of Jedi: Survivor. Make sure that BPC give you the code if you have ordered it.

Which one to select This or https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/773118?

Option 1: this with following upgrade
Planning to upgrade to B650 Tomahawk WiFi, 802.11 wifi, extra 1TB SSD, 850W gold PSU

    Total - $2285

    Vs
Option 2 (lot of option to choose): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/773118?

    With following upgade

Upgrade to CK560 mid tower, B650 Tomahawk WiFi, gigabyte 850W gold PSU

    Total - $2519 = $2319 after discount

    Question

    1) which one to select- option 1 or option 2
    2) Is it better to upgrade to one 2TB SSD or 2*1TB SSD (purchase extra 1TB)?
    3) Which GPU better RX 7900 XT 20GB or MSI RTX 4070?

    • +1

Rx 7900xt is equivalent to rtx 4070ti.

      • +2

        1) I personally bought from Nebula and got 1TB SSD and an upgrade to the stock fan. I got the build in 4 working days. Customer service was exceptional and you can chat to them any time.
In saying that, I think this deal would be a better bargain as listed in 3), you might want to get the 7700x to reduce bottlenecking, gold PSU and motherboard with wifi. Not sure about the customer service with BPC, the "unknown" gives me anxiety especially with the turnaround times.

        2) I'd go for 2TB and if you find you need more, buy more later. You can't if you get 2x1TB (I'm assuming there's 2 slots for SSD)

        3) 7900XT more or less the same as 4070ti, so around 20-25%ish better than the 4070?

        • Thanks for your advice @inusure and @mustaful. Went with option 1 because it is a better deal than option 2 - upgraded cooler, Power supply, motherboard, RAM and SSD.

        • For item 2: Do you normally put OS and storage on one SSD or you have a separate SSD?

As i have upgraded to 2 TB, should i put OS and storage on one drive or buy a separate smaller (1TB or 500GB) NVMe M.2 SSD for OS?

The second option is to buy another 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD and use as a back up for 1st drive.

  • +1

Need upgrade option fo cooler and 6000 ram

    • They have now added both upgrade options.

  • +1

Love it how picky people get over a pre built PC. It's not built on your niche needs, it's built for a price. It's this specific price for a reason because of these design choices, maybe the seller got a deal on the parts, maybe they have excess stock, maybe its a sponsored build, etc. You can't be picky about it. If you want specific parts just build your own, but don't go complaining when there are opportunities for a great built for less privileged buyers than yourselves.

  • Super solid tho!

  • +1

I was just about to pull the trigger but looks like they've run out of the white case which I was keen on

  • Damn. $60 extra for a much better PSU (850w gold). maybe upgrade the cpu cooler (buy separately or pay $60 for their non specific one).
best deal ive seen in a long while

  • What upgrades (if any) would you guys recommend on this build for gaming purposes (Diablo 4, CSGO, Valorant)?

    Willing to spend around $2250

    • Power supply / motherboard / CPU if you can afford

      • CPU isn't so important to be honest. The performance boost isn't very significant and the two options available run a lot hotter than the 7600.
I'd say definitely upgrade the PSU though, and the motherboard upgrade is a nice-to-have but not essential.

EDIT: I'd also recommend budgeting to get a better CPU Cooler and an extra fan or two to help keep the system cool during gaming and prolong the life of the build

  • +1

It’s make my temptation higher !!!

Hopefully nebula come out more than this or similar

    • Nebula just came out with a deal with 7900xt. More expensive though not sure which one is better deal

  • -1

Hi. Is the below for $2,299 better?

    Scorptec
Phoenix RX 7900 XT Gaming PC, AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6 Core, AMD B550 Chipset, Radeon RX 7900 XT 20GB, 16GB 3200MHz RAM, 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Thermaltake Level 20 MT ARGB Case, 650W PSU, WiFi, Win 11 Home

    • Not really, the Scorptec one has a worse CPU, RAM and PSU. The Motherboard is also an unknown but likely worse.
Even though this one only has a 1TB NVMe, it's likely faster than the 2TB one in the Scorptec build. The 2TB NVMe is likely a gen 3 (I say this because so far I've only seen them include gen 3s in their builds, but I could be wrong here), whilst this one is gen4 and has pretty decent speeds too, though no DRAM. If you really needed the space, you could always pick up an extra 2TB gen 3 NVMe for around $100.

In summary, this one is more future proof and has better specs.

A few notes on this one - I'd recommend upgrading the PSU to gold, more effecient and it'll also probably be quieter. I'd also recommend upgrading the motherboard to the Riptide for gen 5 NVMe support and WIFI.

      • Thank you!

    • -3

Yeah this one has Windows 11, it’s way better /s

  • What ram is the 6000 upgrade option giving you specifically? Anyone know?

  • +1

    Very tempted to jump on…
My initial idea was to wait for 7900 XTX to drop, it seems the XT is becoming more in line with normal international pricing at $1099-1200. XTX should only be 10-15% higher but its still around 40-50% higher price.. Whats going on with that? HODL for drop?

  • Anyone received this PC? Some of the Google reviews for their Melbourne store is a bit worrying in terms of assemble quality and customer service. Deciding between this and Nebula 4070. 7900 xt seems to be better performer.

    • Technically speaking 7900 XT compete against 4070 Ti so obviously it's a better performer.

Now regarding nebula 4070, you can just get upgrade and/or do custom build if you are willing to accept retail pricing for part like 7900 XT/XTX

      • Is the 4070ti and 6900XT the same or is one generally considered better?

        • +1

They aren't the same at all.

NVIDIA if you are into RT, DLSS, NVIDIA encoder and nvidia voice etc..

AMD if you are looking for more VRAM (Hogwarts Legacy is a good example on why you needs higher Vram than what NVIDIA sell you). Pure raster performance, some AMD stuff that make AMD GPU works better with AMD CPU

If you don't know anything and don't need anything, AMD card should be good enough. If you need certain software feature on NVIDIA side then go for it.

As for pricing, go for something suitable with your budget.

    What does it mean by
    Coming Soon: 29/05/2023
    Is it preorder?

  • My build just got done and I’m picking up today! Fairly fast and customer service seems good.

    • Do you mind if I ask what date you ordered. Also did you pay for priority shipping?

I ordered one on the 11 May, 2 hours after the deal was posted. I have only received an email saying parts have been reserved.

P.s I will also provide updates as things progressed just for other users to track the wait time on the build and shipping.

      • I ordered on 11/05 and got email yesterday to say it passes Quality checks.

Unfortunately they said won’t be available until Monday due to the transport of it between their factories. M
Still overall good if I can pick up on Monday

    • Got mine picked up yesterday! Call them because mine was done and I didnt get an update email.. I was in a rush to collect hahaha.

I ordered the night after this post got posted i think and i collected it friday (yesterday) from their HQ. Pretty damn quick and good cable management. No issues at all.

  • Got mine yesterday and TLDR: it's amazing! Actually got some freebies. I will post a full in depth review shortly :)

Bought on the 11/05/2023 late night, picked up 19/05/2023 Afternoon from their HQ in VIC.

    • Keen on your review, also did a purchase the other day :)

      • Review will be live today hopefully :)

    • No I’m going to be picking mine up. Looks like the same with HasibA

      • Yeah, I actually meant to ask if you got the Premium Dispatch. The $99 for "Priority Handling"

    • No i bought as is - no extras. Maybe i got lucky with parts. i did call their number often for updates though :)

Hi All. Just thought I'd give some input into a recent PC pick up from BPC tech. I am in VIC and did a local pick up instead of delivery. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/774046#comment-13780910 was where I found the deal! :)

    Order to Collect Timeline:
11/05/2023 9:58 PM - Ordered via online store. Set option for Click N Collect.

16/05/2023 12:35 PM - Parts Reserved - All the parts for your system assembly task have been reserved. Received this email.

19/05/2023 11:12 AM - Work In Progress - Our technician is now busy building your new system. Received this email.

19/05/2023 12:10 PM - QC Pass - Congratulations! Your system has passed all the tests and will be able to be dispatched/picked up. Received this email.

I then called immediately after to ask if I could pick up my PC. They said it's not ready yet and it's "in the other warehouse". They're in the process of moving/recently moved warehouses. Fair enough. They said it might be ready this Afternoon.

I then called around 2pm to confirm if it's ready for pick up - they said YES! I drove locally and grabbed it 20mins later. Funnily enough, they closed at 6pm and I only got an email that it's ready for pick up AFTER I picked up. So definitely call them often to expedite the process.
19/05/2023 4:00 PM - I get home and start loading the PC up. Windows was not installed - so I made a boot drive and loaded it up via a CD key I bought online. 15mins later, windows 11 was installed and I started installing drivers etc :) Happy days.

    PC Build Quality/Parts and Notes:
    AMD Ryzen 5 7600
    - Gigabyte B650M DS3H Micro ATX Form Motherboard Upgrade to B650M PG Riptide WiFi +$49
    - Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT 20GB
    - ADATA XPG LANCER RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 5200MHz Memory
    - Lexar Internal NVMe SSD NM790 PCIe Gen4x4 1TB
    - FSP Hydro PRO 800W 80Plus Bronze PSU Upgrade to fully modular 850w PSU GOLD +$49
    - NZXT H511 Flow Mesh Fronted Mid Tower Gaming PC Case - WHITE
Build Quality: To be frank, it is excellent. I was PLEASANTLY surprised with the cable management, attention to detail of how everything was wired and how clean everything looked. They could've easily left cables around etc and not put velcro straps where necessary. The fully modular power supply probably helped a lot here. Overall, I am very happy and they've done a great job - if not better - than I would've done building it.

Parts + Notes: A few things. It seems my Ryzen 7600 is binned extremely well. managed to get a massive PBO under-volt (Curve Optimiser Negative 50, with the stock cooler). So far stable on max settings Prime95 for 7 hours AND stable during gaming for 6+ hours. Nice performance boost here, and have played around with settings to see if I want more OC or lower temps.

The 7900xt also runs greats, average 60 degrees in gaming, with a junction temp of 73. Stock settings - confident I can play around with this more and achieve better. this is the AMD non-AIB version of this card. Impressive!

The Lexar SSD is SUPER fast. Easily hits its manufacturer claims in Crystal Disk Mark. DRAM would've been better here, but it's no biggie as I mostly just play games and don't mind occasional slower writes on big/random files etc. The PC boots from power button to windows login in 30ish seconds which is fine for me.

The PSU upgrade only listed "fully modular" - I ended up getting a this . They maybe should have specified but allg I suppose - I am happy with it and it'll serve me well.

The RAM isn't the fastest - but I haven't tried overclocking yet (is it Hynix die? New to RAM OC :) ). Thinking of selling it and getting a non RGB higher Mhz and lower CAS latency model. We'll see.

Overall, I am very happy with the parts selection (both without any upgrades but also with the upgrades I've made). I think the upgrades I've made are worth the price. The 2 years return to base warranty is great. I did not pay for priority dispatch or anything - just ordered and pick up.

Additionally, I asked for an extra PC fan 1 day after ordering. They did not respond to my email at all, but upon pick up, seemed to have put an extra free quality Corsair 120mm fan. This was a nice surprised and I scored about 20 bucks here I'd say.
TLDR: Overall, I would recommend BPC tech if you are picking up. If you are getting it delivered, it may be a bit more hit and miss, but for anyone in VIC, I think BPC are the no.1 vs competitors. Local pick up seems to solve their customer experience issues (which seem recent due to warehouse changes).

Ask me about any questions :)

    • Hey mate, I couldn't actually find the NZXT H511 on google only the 510. What case did you end up getting? :)

      • Hey! It’s the NZXT H11 flow

        https://www.jw.com.au/product/nzxt-h511-v2-2021-flow-atx-tem…

This is the exact one / colour

        • Oh damn. I thought i was good at google, turns out im pathetic at it haha!

          • @Nomad2233: It was pretty hard to find mate. Allgood. It’s some very specific OEM only case.

            I must say. It’s fantastic!

I used to own a NZXT H500 or 510 (can’t remember) and thought it was good but could do with better airflow. This fixes it exactly!

            • @Bisah1342: Sorry didn't see you replied!

Pretty cool looking case, I have always liked most of the NZXT cases espeically the 510.

    • I think they may have possibly forgotten about me as i havent gotten an email yet haha

      • Call them ASAP

    Hi All

I have ordered on 12th May. I received the email confirmation of my order on 12th May however no email afterwards on the progress e.g. parts reserved, work in process, etc….

Does everyone gets the order progress emails or is it hit and miss?

    • Haven't got anything here and emailed them on the 18th about the order not showing up in my account on their website either but no response so far

      • got parts reserved email this morning

Ordered it on 12th May, haven't got an email yet so I called them today. They said they are still waiting for parts (cpu and gpu) for my pc so I would suggest calling them up if you can.
