my ultra rare chickens are hatching as i type..

Can this be used to tell when they are cooked in the oven?

      • In the incubator its best to have two or three temp/humidity guages to verify accuracy and reduce risk of defects or issues with hatchlings. Yes i will eat them if supply chains shut and nuclear war breaks out or something

I ended up buying another one :p

  • Got a couple of these in a recent deal, does what it says.

    Good wifi range.

Can monitor via widgets (be aware frequent temp updates drain batteries faster).

    Can set alerts etc

    • How long did the batteries last for you?

      • I’m interested too. Read a review saying only 9 days

        • I have something similar and I assume they are mostly the same OEM product - 3x AAs lasts about 3months so not sure about the review saying 9 days.

Only had them a couple of weeks. 1hr updates says up to 6 months, so 10 min updates may be just a month. If you're manually refreshing more than that….

Also like anything, battery quality will matter.

    Batteries (not included)

    Deal breaker for me.

    • Deal maker for me.

Plug in 3x AAA Eneloops instead.

      • They're not 1.5V though.

I have one of these, and only one, as I haven’t yet been able to connect it. Even created special wifi network to get it going. Nah, won’t connect. I have a number of various connected appliances, some were difficult, but all eventually connected. This one eludes me.

I tried INKBIRD and they pointed me to the same info on their website.

Just letting people know, that it’s setup maybe an issue.

If you have eBay Plus, you should be able to return it within 30 days (and eBay should cover the cost of postage).

Perhaps, would you care to share your WiFi settings with us?

It looks like you are not the only one with Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
@GCJT also had the same issue as you.

      • Thanks for the insights and link to GCJT post.

Yes I have requested replacement or refund.

If they ship replacemnet I'll update with result. 👍

      • AS I cant edit comment above.

They are sending out replacement. I'll try that then update you on my settings if it works or not.

Otherwise its pointless if we dont know if the unit is faulty. (Unless of course I get unlucky again)

I had added some detail to my post to bargainshooter below. 😀

Do you have mesh wifi with both 5g and 2.4g on the same ssid?

      • No mesh, but do have 5g and 2.4g. (telstra Gen 3 modem)

        Have tried

Multple phones, friends network, unprotected network - setup guest network 2.4g only

        Plus new batteries

The device is recognised but still fails to connect
