seems quite a bit more expensive than others like Tick.

    • yeah i just bought policy with Allianz and it was about 20% cheaper

  • Just a question around Travel Insurance in general , are these special covers better than similar cover from Credit card companies? When we buy the plane ticket on it for example…

    • Depending on the credit card/bank/terms; no, they are no better, and they are sometimes worse. Be sure to check what 'complimentary' travel insurance you are already entitled to via your credit card (most cards that include travel insurance now include COVID19 cover), and what you have to spend/spend it on to qualify for that complimentary insurance prior to traveling. Plane tickets and accommodation costs usually qualify, but on some cards other things like car hire do as well; provided you pay for it prior to travelling.

    • anyone have experience with Qantas Ultimate AMEX CC insurance vs TID?

  • Travel insurance via NAB debit platinum card for $10/month sounds like a better option to me, if you prefer not to have credits cards (for complimentary travel insurance).

    • That all depends on the terms associated with that 'NAB debit platinum card' ( I didn't know there was such a thing as a perked up debit card!), what they cover, and how often you travel OS I guess.

      • I was surprised as well. Going for a holiday but didn't want to hold on to my credit card for longer than necessary just for the travel insurance. Didn't like the pricing on travel insurance quotes. Only NAB has a product like this. Not aware of any other debit cards with travel insurance perks.
