I have a Dymo; you know the one. They haven't changed the design for about 20 years, and I'm getting sick of the alphabetical keypad and clunky button controls. This thing looks pretty cool, and it uses the same LetraTags that I still have a few of, and uses 4x AA.

Officeworks has this for $55 with just 1x white paper label tape, so I reckon it's worth the extra $5 for the white plastic and clear plastic tapes.

  • Dang I could sure use something like this in the workshop but I read can’t print more than 1 line of text… ideally I’d want to fit at least 2 lines of small text on the label 😪

Also reviews say adhesion not fantastic..

      grab the brothers.

its deceptive that brothers are more expensive tape wise, because the tapes they provide are all 'industrial' grade in that they print then apply a plastic on top

the cheapest dymos are straight print on top of the tape.

it makes the brothers last longer and the tape is also up to 36mm for the PT900 series, 24mm for PT700 series and 12mm for PT300 series

You can do 2 lines on letratags

  • Bluetooth Label Maker

This allows you to print labels from 10 metres away !!!

    How cool is that !!!

The Bluetooth is to connect to your phone to design/type labels. Pretty cool right?

  • Any idea if it supports English only or multi-language?

Dunno, download the app and let us know

  • I bought one from Officeworks for $49 a while back but returned it. It's trash, print quality is rubbish, text looks pixelated.
Text is also very small compared to label height, the largest font only fills up about half the height of the label.

Or maybe that's normal for the "LetraTag" series?

The critical reviews on Amazon seem to confirm your experience.

  • I have had both brands in the past. Better quality print, flexibility and durability with the Brother PTouch over the Dymo. Unfortunately lost both during a recent house fire. I will only replace the Brother. Yes, the tapes can be more expensive, but are more durable. I I love to label cables, power plugs etc to their respective sockets.

  • I find these label devices quite wasteful. Whenever the user starts to print a new label, it spits out a section/chunk of unused label tape before it prints the actual label.
