More robust for kids than the WL-Toys 144001 and 124019 and yes it is only 1/16th scale but if your kids slams it into a curb, it wont break as easy as the WL-Toys racing type buggies. This is more a monster truck. I dont own one, but have watched many reviews. Good price as has been over $200+ in the past. Came up with free shipping when I did a test purchase.

  • I’ll say it, store in title pls

Didn’t realise how cathartic this is. Now it’s clear why someone always jumps at this so quickly!

It's currently cheaper on eBay (have purchased from this seller previously) and has been cheaper again in the past

Agree MJXs are much tougher than wltoys!

Personally love the Hyper Go range

  • How does this compare to the HBX 16889a pro?

I dont own the HBX but from the reviews I have seen, it gets a good wrap.
See youtube video below which shows both the HBX and the MJX. Dont think you can go wrong with either.

I have the HBX and the brushed version of the Hyper Go which is the same as the Brushless except for brushless system. We've bashed them both at a skate park a number of times and the HBX has survived without breaking anything (though I'm sure it will at some point), the Hyper Go has needed a new front bumper, new front cup, and one of the wheel hexes is just about ready for replacement. Still tough compared to most other RCs, but not as tough as the HBX. Luckily you can get replacement parts for both quite easily.

The HBX can be had for a similar price from Australian sellers on eBay, and I would go for that.

If you want to see some of the YouTube videos we've made of them, send me a PM.

      • Thanks. I’d recommended the HBX to a friend as we have one. Just checking if this might be better.

Hyper go brushless can be faster because it can come with 3s option as well as 2s. Faster is not necessarily good because the 2s speed is the sweet spot for this size. It has a non standard battery shape. The mjx comes in a few different body styles.

16889a pro has more durable differential , but that might be just because 3s destroys the diff.

I own a 16889a pro. They are both very good value and recommended. I prefer the hbx one I think the consensus is that the hbx is more durable.

  • Following mckennals ebay link, you can get the hbx with 1 battery for $136.40 if you have ebay plus. That’s a good price !
