  • Not the biggest fan of the unbraided cable compared to the old model but I understands it's to reduce friction. Hopefully it's just as durable.

Hopefully they fixed there clicker issue with this one compared to the hero

they are using some sort of hybrid optical mechanical switches now so there shouldnt be a problem with the switches any more

Logitech have around a decade or so of having "clicker issues". The reason for this is exhaustively researched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5BhECVlKJA

If you don't have the appetite for 1 hour and 15 minutes of glorious electronic and engineering diagram content (please not that hundreds of comments indicate a great amount of layperson fascination), basically these idiots have been running voltage FAR too low for the switches (nearly always omron) in their mice for 10+ years. This causes the most miniscule amount of extra resistance (due to corrosion, dust, change in the wind, farting on the mouse, etc) in the electronic component responsible for registering clicks to stop functioning properly and we get the dreaded double/triple/zero click issue that you see hundreds of thousands of discussion board posts about.

I have owned many many mice, mostly top of the range logitech (favourite being the g303 for gaming and my fav office mouse was mx master 1/2/3), and they have ALL, besides my very first logitech g9x, developed this issue. I always blamed my heavy usage, somehow forgetting that arguably the greatest of all time ("da goat") mouse g9x I had worked forever until I foolishly "upgraded" it to the modern TRASH that belong in the GARBAGE HEAP or LITIGATION TRIAL.

I am now using a rog strix impact ii (wired on a bungee) which have hot swappable switches. I have no idea if Asus are also running incorrect voltages, but it won't matter because it takes 30 seconds to pop it open and chuck in a new $5 switch saving me thousands in the long run constantly replacing these expensive essential tools.

      • The G502X family have optical switches which do away with the whole worn out contacts leading to double click issue.
