Drop MT3 Dusk Keycap Set
Drop MT3 Fairlane Keycap Set, Thanks to qwijibo

Please note that this is keycaps only, it does not come with a keyboard or switches.

With the free shipping that's currently in place for orders above USD $50 (Approx. A$74.70+), it makes these deals on these MT3 keycaps (~70% off) really good if you buy other things to get to that threshold as the international shipping is USD $20 for one keycap set.

They are not cheap, but if you are into tall keycaps, and if you like sculpted keycaps, MT3 profile is a solid option.

    Won't it break?

Liking this keycap profile will definitely make you go broke as they are only sold at Drop and they normally cost around USD $120.

120 USD can get you a decent mechanical keyboard including double shot pbt keycaps.

You should check the GMK keycaps, they are even more expensive than a decent keyboard. 120usd keycap is pretty normal if you join the Mech Key Community. There are keycap like SA SP worth 250 - 300 USD or even more.

These are usually nicer than whatever generic set comes with those keyboards.

        • That's excluding the shipping, which makes it even worse.

I don't think it's for those people who are looking for bang for the buck, these are more for people who are after something niche.
Someone who's willing to spend bit more on keycaps for whatever niche they are after (be it pretty colours, shapes of the keycaps, crispness of legends, thickness of the keycaps, etc etc).

Frankly speaking, if it were just 70% off, I would've not even bothered to post it on OzBargain (USD $20 shipping does kill the deal).

  • That's a good deal for trying MT3.

Haven't tried it yet, looks a bit too close to SA for my liking.

    • I personally found that MT3 feels different compared to SA keycap I have from Domikeys.

I think it's because of how the keys are more concave on the top on MT3s vs SAs. That aggressive dish shape I think would either make you love MT3s or hate the MT3s. I personally like the feel of that curvature, but I can understand why some people would hate it (you can feel the edges of the keys depending on how you type).

      • That's a useful description, saves me some effort. I'd probably dislike the pronounced dishing.

  • That’s a great price for an MT3 base set.

Big fan of MT3 profile myself (I have Dusk, Cyber and Extended 2048 myself), but it’s something of an acquired taste if you’re used to Cherry or, even worse, laptop or Apple keyboards.

  • Yeah, that's a good price.

I like the feel of the MT3s, the scooped top is just nice to type on. Plus they sound good. Although I can type slightly faster with a lower profile to be honest.

The MT3 fairlane set is also on sale for the same price: https://drop.com/buy/drop-mt3-fairlane-custom-keycap-set
