Now I have an unrealistic expectation to be able to buy this for $237 and if I pay a dollar I will have failed.

Better to know beforehand. I would feel bad if I bought something and later found out it was $100 cheaper a few months earlier.

Yeah I missed out on that deal by one day, and it's haunted me ever since!

        Take it easy!

Imagine if you bought the a house during Covid for 650k, which now sold for 1.4 million.

Alot worse than $100, but people don't seem to mind 😂

Must not be in Brisbane then, prices peaked in covid and have actually since wound back 10-20%, but still gotta make the high interest repayments now.

      • I have signed the contract to buy my house on March 2020 and when Covid kicked in few days later I shat my pants and asked to cancel the purchase (I was afraid Id lose my job etc)
Luckily the request was declined and was fordes to preceed with it. I would be damned for eternity if they accepted my request lol (to get the same property Id now have to spend 25-30% extra)

  • haven't been following.. is there a new version coming out?

    • The 700’s are from 2019 so I would hope so.

I’m waiting for a new version of the QC45. I remember reading somewhere that they’re on a 2-year update release cycle and I think the QC45 ii came out in 2021.

I may stand corrected but I believe it was the QC35 II that came out in 2021.

I lost my Bose QC35 (gen 1) in a house fire two months back (along with everything else). I am looking to replace them and have discovered that everything that was included with my QC35's … hard case, USB charge cable, 3.5mm audio cable and aeroplane plug adapter are all sold separately now, adding considerably to the base headset price.

        Really missing them though,

QC35 II was released in 2018 😃 Original QC35 was released in 2016. So, it does seem like Bose is updating their headsets every 2-3 years. Although, they seem quite mature and any differences are minor. Can’t really go wrong with Bose or Sony these days, for noise cancelling.

  • no hi definition codecs I believe?

These are not great tbh. I got em on the 237 deal

    • +3

I have them from the 237 deal as well. Not sure what issues you have with them, but I am absolutely loving it. They have been equally great with music as well as team/zoom calls.

      • +4

I think these are great headphones. I got them because everyone complained my QC35ii's let in too much background noise when I spoke on Teams. Bought these and no one has complained since. I believe the Bose 700 has 8 microphone's rather than 4 microphone's on the QC45, plus the 700 have a "UC" version which is Teams certified (but the only difference I can see is that the UC version comes with the Bose USB Link Bluetooth dongle - which you can buy separately). Being Bose, and already having the QC35ii's, I knew the music and noise cancelling would be more than adequate for me.

        • MS has implemented server side background noise cancellation since then. I had the same complaint about my Sony XM3. After the MS update, I no longer get such complaint. I couldn't believe how good this MS tech is until I tested it.
So, don't need to buy new headphones as a result. Still, would be nice to get maybe XM6 :-)

      • Do you ever use them in the office with people talking around you?

        • +3

Yes used in an open plan office. There was a very loud person also quite close to me and everyone could hear them through my QC35ii's. The Bose 700's were a big improvement on that.

      • I got one during the $249 deal. Keep getting complaints from other call parties about the mic. Now I had to switch to use my laptop's mic permanently.

  • How is the mic quality? Are they good for office calls? Do they get disconnected often and / or are loud enough?

    • Never got disconnected. Speakers are loud enough (I have always used the lowest volume level during meetings), sound is so clear, ANC is good.
Mic quality is questionable, worse than my Macbook's integrated mic.

  • which is better? bose or sony? my bose QC45 pu leather parts brokes after 1y of light use, wondering if 700 or sony is the same.

    • +2

Sony are good - if you find them comfortable.
I hate my XM4’s for this reason and love my QC45’s.

      shrug

  • +3

    I wait for $230.
