I have the TCL 75" C835 - got it as a replacement when my 75X10 had panel issues after 1 year. So far so good but its only been 3months, only issues have been CEC from standby isn't working as I'd expect but otherwise the picture is great.

      Cec?

      • CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) allows for HDMI devices to be controlled with one remote control. If you try to cast to a CEC supported TV while on a different source input (local TV channel, Cable, USB), source input will automatically switch to the HDMI port where the Chromecast is connected.

    • How's the image when viewed from an angle?

      • It won’t be great on these compared to say an OLED but TCL’s VA panels do have decent viewing angles compared to other VA planets.

    • What panel issues were you having? I have a 65X10 that has become very buggy and slow after a year. There's also banding and dirty screen effect that can be seen in certain content, but it didn't bother me too much at the time. I may contact them for a replacement though.

I had like 'burn in' purple/pink patches three pretty big ones very noticeable on a solid colour like watching football or a white image and then across the entire boarder it was showing a pink line (thin but noticeable) i also had banding dse issues.

Replacement was easy, call them quote the model and serial, they send to local support (WA for me) they requested pic and 10sec video, they determined from that a replacement was required, TCL approved and the company came out helped remove the old tv and install the new.

My issue was similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGDo9xpMHN0&ab_channel=leeps…

What if "Price down down down down"?

  • Absolute bargain! I got a 65C825 (predecessor, model is a several years old now) only last year for $2k and thought that was an awesome price considering it's quite a decent panel with great sound. It even has Wifi 6 haha! GoogleTV is always a let down though, it's somewhat buggy and generally not great for a variety of reasons, but I don't think that is TCL's fault. Shame to see no more front-firing speakers on the C835, the sound on C825 is genuinely great. Panel/picture wise it's not an OLED, nor quite as good as a premium Mini LED that costs 2-3x more but it's still genuinely really good, HDR Netflix content looks awesome. Depending on what you are used too/upgrading from I really do not think you'd be longing for an OLED if you buy one of these. Also, even with it lacking front-firing speakers unlike the previous C825, I wouldn't be surprised if the sound quality was still quite decent too. At least with the C825, you definitely do not need a soundbar, though of course any >$500 soundbar will outperform it.

In a different league value wise this range of TV.

Have you tried disabling all the "suggestions", can't remember the exact option, but it's so you only have the apps you install and not a bunch of videos from different services? I found my experience GREATLY improved after doing that. Prime video is a bit laggy sometimes, but that's Prime's fault.

Got the 65" 6 weeks ago, and after spending a couple of hours tweaking away the over processing look, I've really liked it. Bright when I need it in a Bright room. Sharp and clear on apps, especially Netflix.
Can't comment on sports yet but have UFC on it (though UFC stream is always terrible no matter what).

Big thing, the speaker set is great on our TV unit (not wall mounted). I reckon you wouldn't need a soundbar… Give it a try without one first see if you like it.

I don't understand, the price is showing as $1995?

Best bang for buck TV out there, IMO. I have this and an LG CS OLED and I'd probably get another one of these if I needed a third TV. Picture is great and the sound is fantastic for in built speakers.

    • viewing angle?

      • +3

Second time you are asking a very strange question..generally picture quality, sound, OS is more important..Since no one else answered ..well viewing angle is as good or as bad as any other telly made after 2000..depends on the lighting.. I have a 55 inch LG c2 Oled, a 7 year old 65 inch Hisense and a 75 inch C835 ..I have never thought about viewing angles since I sold the rear projection monster about 18 years back tbh ..but the picture is well visible from most angles on these TVs .. I have no idea why that is relevant but I do not do a headstand and watch the tv at an 80 degree angle … if I can avoid it… so my answer is based on normal day to day usage..Hope that helps

        • My older tv reviewed as having a bad viewing angle from side on. I've watched it at an angle many times (almost diagonal viewing distance from a nearby dining room) and the picture looks fine for me. Not to say it would be the case with every other tv brand and model.

  • Is it possible to get the 15% discount in store? Got a bunch of gift cards to use

    • I think you can use gift card online

      • Only 1 or 2 cards though. I've got like 20 $50/$100 cards. Don't think it would be possible online

          • @superforever: That's JB gift cards. The ones I have is like Ultimate and TCN. Just tried it and it didn't work. If anything it deducted my balance lol Hopefully I get the money back

            • @Kongzi: For the Ultimate gift cards, your cart total needs to be under the Ultimate gift card value as it acts like a prepaid debit card

You’d need to first convert them into JB gift card but if you do it frequently, their internal fraud detection will come into play

  • Bought 55” last week on bing lee for 985, now it’s down to 930, tv is not delivered yet, can I ask them for price match tomorrow? Has anyone succeeded price match with bing lee?

    • This sale will be finished before Bing Lee opens tomorrow.

      • You think I can use the someone’s bill to claim? Just like officeworks?

    • You can try but a lot of retailers don’t negotiate after the sale has been made.

      • Okay thank Yu

  • What's delivery time frame usually like for JB? Looking at ordering the 65" + delivery. It is out of stock at my local store but showing in stock at the distribution centre. In the checkout it's showing "Delivery available from May 9" and underneath that a blue exclamation mark and "Back order"

    • Interesting for me it said delivery available from 20 April. I'm in SE Melbourne.

      • I tried with the 55" and got a similar delivery time to you, so I assume it must have been a stock issue with the 65" near me. Didn't end up ordering as I didn't want to deal with any potential backorder issues.

  • how is the responsiveness? any good as a monitor?

    • reviews rate it as not especially good for gaming responsiveness if thats what you mean.

I bought this TV two weeks ago specifically so it would go on sale for you guys.

    • Thank you for your service! 🎖️

    • How much did you pay? Or is it a sore subject.

  • I picked up the 65 from good guys on the weekend for $1250 delivered.
    Pro:
Google TV OS (so much better than tizen, webos and that garbage hisense uses)
    Integrates with google home natively.
200Hz so works very well with my xbox series X
Mini led & Dimming = Colour is good, and vibrant but not on par with my LG OLED. Hoses the samsung side lit LCD it replaces.

    Cons:
Plex client is sometime laggy but faster than Google TV 4K dongle.
when using HDR with xbox you do have to dome some tweaking to get the best results.

    • How laggy we talking about the plex app?
      Bearable?
I use plex 99% of the time so im hoping its not too bad haha :/
