  • On Ali, what is with all the cheap stuff on choice?
    How do they profit?

There's some dodgy stuff but it was easy enough to get a refund.

What's with the 512gb sd cards for 2usd? Simple to test if fake, what's their angle on this?

Remember that AliExpress is a marketplace so there's always going to be dodgy sellers selling fake stuff. OzBargain considers stores with low feedback to be <95% and that's pretty accurate, so avoid stores with less. By buying the fake goods you're only enabling the behaviour.

      • But the choice stuff, it's funded by Ali right? So you would think they don't want lots of returns.

        • Choice sales are partially funded by AliExpress but mostly the seller, just like eBay sales. The real benefit is the faster shipping that the sellers must use, so many people get their orders within 2 weeks

          • @Clear: Problem is since you can only do it on the mobile you don't really get to see to description as clearly
and everything is put under the one seler so you don't actually know who it's from

            • @furyou: Oh you mean the x for $1.99 sale? That's a really really small part of "Choice" and comes from a single seller.

              • @Clear: yes that thing, that seller is ali or some form of grouping right? it seems to have a lot of different stuff so I assume it's not a real single seller

                • @furyou: You can tap on the individual items to go to the product page and you'll see it's a single seller. Digitaling Store.

    • I have purchased many, many, of the “Buy 3 or More” deals for US$1.99, $2.99, each etc. with free 10 days delivery.
What I have noticed is they are often old stock (USB micro instead of USB-C) or ‘faulty’ in some minor way. Nothing that makes them unusable. Just pocket clip on the wrong side, spelling mistakes on the item, and so on.

Same here, Bought couple of WiFi dongles and tweezer set off from “Buy 3 or More” deals, and both dongles were faulty and the tweezers strong as much as a thin paper. (Ali express refunded straight away, didnt have to go through the seller for the refund process)

    • they sell mass loads of the cheap item

also, the prices aren't as cheap as they used to be :(

also, prices are ex Aus GST

  • Hi Clear, will there be any good portable monitor deal with these coupons? Looking for one around ~$100 mark.

    • Ditto, but a deal on an OLED touch for me would be great :D

  • What are some common recommended things worth buying on AliExpress that you wouldn't be able to get on Amazon or Ebay or Kmart? I can't seem to find any reasons to shop here?

    • Price is usually the reason, as long as you dont mind waiting.
Although i have had some things delivered quickly.

…now you've ruined my recommendations banners.

      • Can't get that at Kmart. Sign me up

      • $0.5/kg good price for the shipping

      • Almost spat my coffee out when I opened this hahahaha

    • Some small DIY parts, electronic components.

    • 120w charger for $7.63 good reviews. anyone wants to try?

      • go, take one for the team

        89.3% Positive feedback

Hopefully you don't end up like this guy ordering from a 25% feedback store.

        • well, 61 x 1-star reviews talking about being defective or indeed 120w chargers which are not bad to fool quite many folks already. Looking at the number of orders, Ali must have had a hard time catching this kind of stores.

By the way, how much does it cost to ship a piece of paper?

    • +1

Screws/bolts, random stuff like silicone tubing, portable game emulators, PC peripherals, Chinese hifi equipment, the list goes on. It's almost always cheaper, pretty reliable as long as you're buying from a seller with lots of sales and a high rating.

The 10.26 inch 4K dash cam/reversing camera are usually about $100 cheaper on ALiexpress compared to buying one off EBay in Australia.

  • And I just spent $500 2 days ago - doh!

  • Once the deal was on, the prices under this deal jacked up…
