Great shaver - I use it every 2 days. Worth $100.

But I find the RX7 is rougher on my neck hair than the RX5, which I had been using for nearly 3 years before the upgrade. I rinse and lubricate it (with the Shaver Shop guard spray) after every use which seems to have helped the life of my RX5.

    • Spray lubricate neck hair before every use for optimal swish

Loosing hair day by day….time to shave πŸ˜‚

  • As a plebian shaver that only ever uses an el cheapo beard trimmer, what does this do exactly? Is it used for facial hair? Cause the name says "head shaver" so one might assume it's used for the top of your head? And does this replace a beard trimmer, or is this used after you trim in order to get the last little bit of length shaved off? Thanks in advance.

    • Nope, it's just for the hair on the top of the head. Facial hair is too coarse for this.

It's not a replacement for a beard trimmer. It shaves the hair down to 0.2mm - no length settings.

Thank you. So is this just for bald people? πŸ˜‚

Yep… and those who want to keep their heads shaved (if only I had the choice…)

  • jeez, this looks ridiculous, lol. it reminds me of the blue man group joke of the shaver that has like 10 blades.

  • Thanks OP. Got 1. Had the RX5 for a while, was about to buy this one earlier cuz the base and electrical wire stopped charging due to corrosion (bluish colour). So tried the deoxit dn5 spray, and it diluted the corrosion got it back to charging.

    Is this running a 13bt?

i got the joke. brap brap!

  • How does this compare to shaving your head with a razor? Do you guys find this more convenient?

Ive been using the RX5 model for years and i find the skin feel after way better. Using a razor I found would dry out my skin pretty badly (obviously from product), but i also found it almost a little painful after. It works better if you use it more often though and can be a pain if you have left it for a week or so of hair growth and then try and rip through it with the Remington.

    • I don't have experience with this product in particular, I have a pitbull skull shaver which is a similar product. It's just way easier and less hassle than shaving your head with a razor, which I got pretty sick of after a couple years.

No need to use product (to shave anyway, you would use shaving oil to prolong the life of the blades) and it gets it done quickl, andd can be done while you're watching something or sitting on the toilet browsing OzBargain. Definitely a worthwhile investment if you're shaving your head every couple of days.

  • I have this and I have a bold head. I don't recommend it if:
    - your hair is thick
    - you wait a long time between shaves (works well with 1-2 days hair growth)
    - if you have a very round head, basically the middle shaver hits the skull and the sides ones don't so it's like using a tiny single shaver. You hardly every have the 5 sides hitting the skull.
    - The pitbull has 4 and it hits the skull better.

So in my case, all above apply and went back to using a razor
