I've been looking for a NutriBullet to go on sale. Cheapest one around at the moment, a few dollars more than the cheapest I can find in the past on OzB

Yeah I can attest to this. I owned the 900W one for a couple of years before I used someone else's ninja.
Bought one and never looked back, so much more pleasant sounding and perfectly blends anything you throw at it. Even the small one is an absolute work horse compared to the nutribullet.
I've owned the 900w nutribullet for like 4-5 years, and my parents have a similar spec ninja. I prefer the nutri.
Do I need the 900W nutri for blending ice and frozen fruits for smoothies?
@dajackal: It's really powerful I've never had an issue with it, apart from the bearings needing replacement every so often I will buy a third party base for it every few years to keep the noise down as they will go rusty from rinsing it after use every time. It will blitz berries no problem. I'm sure the 600w is alright but I like the 900w and that's all I've got experience with, very powerful. I mainly use it for oats in protein shakes, I use frozen banana sometimes. My guess is frozen berries and softer fruits will be OK with 600w because they are softer than the banana pieces I use, which can become quite solid when frozen. Easy work around is to let the fruit soften in the water/milk you mix them with for a minute or two before use blending.
@Budju: Thanks for the reply! Have you tried blending down plain dry oats into a fine powder for use in baking? Wondering if the 900W is powerful enough for that.
@dajackal: I haven't tried that no, it pulverises them in my shakes though. I would expect it can do an ok job of it but happy to test it out later and let you know ;)
@Budju: Have you tried replacing the bearings on the base itself? As in the part that sits on your countertop. The little round plastic piece on mine just cracked one day.
@ufwpd: Nah I've never replaced the actual blade driver. With that, I'm careful to always have the blender turned off at the wall while I am fitting the base and cup onto the blender. I remember running into trouble early when I would fit it with the power turned on. Since then I've had no dramas with it always off at the wall then switch it on and off that way.
Which one? I've had a couple of nutribullets and their smoothie performance is good but they tend to break so would be happy to try something different.
I can recommend a 900W series

Would like to know if this works well for ice as well
Yeah, it will blend ice cubes with ease.
I got this yesterday..https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165893767456 for $79 (had $10 coupon)
Nutribullet go is $40 at the good guys
If you're using the Nutribullet 1-3 times a day, the little tabs on the top of the cups will break off after about a year, making them unusable with the base (unless you get two flathead screwdriver like tools to push down two of the three buttons on top of the device, at the same time as pushing the cup down into it). Generic replacement cups can be bought on AliExpress for about $15 but you wont have this problem with the Aldi version of the Nutribullet which can be bought for $60 in August. The tabs on the cups are 2-3 times the size. So they are much more robust. The volume of the cups is a bit larger as well.
No good. Get a ninja.
