ooh! its dairy free! im lactose intolerant and most protein shakes are milk based. im going to try these!

    • These look to be meal replacements rather than protein shakes. If you're after protein shakes you could try Happy Way or Botanika Blends. They both do vegan protein and are great. Botanika is a Brisbane local business too.

      • i’ll second happy way. They are great.

      • thanks for the recommendation!

      • I just looked at Happy Way's unflavoured protein. It's $47.95 for 500g, which is quite expensive compared to my usual source. I get this one for $40 for 1kg (and there's currently a coupon and/or Cashrewards):
        https://au.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/pea-protein-isolat…

They both are 100% pea protein, so it's the same ingredient. Happy Way claims it's non-GMO, so if that's important to you then maybe stick with that, but at ~$96/kg it's quite expensive. I haven't factored in shipping though.

        • My missus usually buys them when they have a 20% off sale. Last one was 23% off and my pantries are full.

  • Go into calorie deficit and count your macros. Simples. None of this crap. And also consistency is key!

Strange you got negged for stating an outright fact. All these shakes are ridiculous cash grabs.

  • Have to wonder what's wrong with the original recipe

  • Jesus 515 cal per serve with 30g protein?
A good protein powder will get you 24g protein at 150-160 cal. If you’re looking to decrease calories, this isn’t it imo.

Some cookedup.com.au meals are higher protein and less calories for a 350g serve ($7/serve if you order 30)

Syntha 6 Edge are 150-160 cal and 24g protein at about the same cost per serve on sale. I have it with almond milk so it ends up being just under 200 calories.
    $1.65/ serve here https://www.suppkings.com.au/product/syntha-6-edge-8lb-prote…

Of course a protein powder is going to have more protein. This isn't a protein powder.

      • I want people who might see this as a way to lose weight that it won’t be as effective as a protein shake or even a healthy meal. If they assume it’s in the same vein as a man/lady shake or something along those lines then it’s not a good pick.

Also the protein powder doesn’t have a higher protein content per serve, it has less than 1/3 of the calories though.

No point comparing this product to a protein shake. It is a meal replacement / Soylent clone. Completely different product.

Can lose weight with soylent / soylent clones as long as you are running a calorie deficit.

I have tried this one and IMO it tastes terrible. I chucked mine in the bin.

          • @Aureus: There is if it seems vague on what this product exactly is. Most meal replacement shakes are lower in calories than a meal, this one isn’t, it seems worth while to let people know.

You can lose weight by eating Twinkies if you count calories, I’m not saying you can’t lose weight using this.

I’ve tried it and IMO it’s great. Strawberry is also great but it doesn’t come in 100 serve bags so it’s more expensive per serve. I haven’t tried it with water so maybe that’s why you didn’t like it. I also use it in cooking and it works great.

            • @NuttyGoodness: I just found it had a strange bitter flavour. I have tried Jimmy Joy, Queal and Soylent and found they all taste okay.

              • @Aureus: I’ve never had anything close to bitter from it but to each their own. Did you have it with water? I use Woolworths unsweetened almond milk

If not that brand, there are plenty of others that offer similar calorie options is all I was getting at

Why would anyone purposefully consume soy?!
